1641  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami Mayor Will Allow Employee salaries in Bitcoin on: March 30, 2021, 06:53:07 AM
The mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, in the framework of the Unchained podcast, spoke about the desire to create a center for bitcoin mining in the city. According to him, 90% of bitcoin miners use, in his words, "dirty energy" outside the United States. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTCEw92fHns

According to the mayor of Miami, the United States is ready to provide large bitcoin miners with access to renewable energy sources. He believes that US should produce more digital gold, including for reasons of national security and environmental protection.
I mean he is right, most large scale mines are in other countries like China but they too have Nuclear energy. I hope that this mayor is going to walk with all this talk, I mean there is a lot of promises here. Hopefully even if the mines do not migrate to US, they will still move towards a clean energy.
1642  Economy / Economics / Re: OpenAI: Artificial Intelligence will generate wealth to pay each adult $13,500yr on: March 30, 2021, 06:20:17 AM
The way we are going with these AI of a thing , I hope we don’t end up creating the ones that will bomb earth to pieces. Cause this is really turning to something else since all these dumb scientists now wants AI to do everything single thing on earth, what’s wrong with our normal way of living?

Why don’t we just live our lives the way it is and only create minor AI that we can easily manage, than all these big stuffs that doesn’t make any sense, seriously.

Well, whatever , I just hope that whatever they are creating they better find ways that they are going to be keeping them under control, so they don’t do some stupid things.
You watch too much movies, that will be near impossible in my opinion and if it ever happens, that will be probably around two generations so really no worries at all. The reason that they are doing this is to help them with other things like complex calculations and IoT devices which is a good thing because it can help other people do multiple tasks with the help of an AI at the same time. Now with this idea that people are getting paid because AI will generate money, the only way that I can see that it will do it is when you create an AI that does the trading for you.
1643  Economy / Economics / Re: donating 50% of the vaccines purchased to the government. on: March 30, 2021, 05:40:02 AM
state treasury funds have access to pay for funds spent on vaccination costs. however, we all know that apart from the incidents that make all Southeast Asian countries grieve, there are always parties who do not want to be harmed.

Regarding the Philippines, which tells every private company to be able to help pay for vaccines, I am not clear about it. however, as far as I know, the vaccination program is organized based on the request of the hospital which should be borne by the minister of health. as stated in the health regulations in the Philippines. and it is a constitutionally legitimate responsibility.

however, the health minister and Duterte did not want to be harmed by this sizable expenditure, so that they looked to a number of private companies to make contributions to maintain and stabilize all working employees.

So far there has been no further report on whether the stipulated funds will be reduced in accordance with the capacity of private companies and public companies that have a percentage share of the funds for the vaccination program.
The reason that they ask for private companies for the vaccination is because the government is too retarded to run the country, they have to worry about their political opponents before doing any pandemic measures and they are using the same 2020 method for this year knowing that it doesn't work anyway, and most of the money that should've been used for the vaccines was wasted on other expenditures. And the health minister is the reason why the vaccine rollout in Philippines is going to be late because he is stupid enough to not check the paperwork for vaccine applications.
1644  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. rent has increased 175% faster than household income over past 20 years on: March 30, 2021, 04:56:19 AM
I think part of the reason why the prices of rent is skyrocketing is because of blatant overpricing of the land and the 2008 housing crisis. Not to mention that the congress doesn't have any plans to increase wages of their minimum wage workers because they are lobbied into not doing it and their presidents are idiots that only wants to bomb Middle East and sell more weapons.
1645  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing only for the rich? Think again on: March 30, 2021, 04:22:50 AM
In today's age of information technology everything is advanced but the poor have no idea about investing to be deprived of everything compared to the rich in fact there is no difference between rich and poor to invest.
That is the main reason that poor people stay poor, they are not granted any opportunity in any way so yeah, I think that in a way investing is only for the rich and the ones lucky enough to have the opportunity to know about bitcoin.
1646  Economy / Economics / Re: The New Zealand Pension Fund announced a $ 17.5 million bitcoin (BTC) investment on: March 30, 2021, 03:42:21 AM
From my part, I would say that it would be stupidity from their part not to book the profits (at least partially). If I was the fund manager, then I would easily liquidate at least 20% to 30% of the coins at the current rate. The article mentions that many of the clients were not ready with the Bitcoin investment. Selling 30% of the coins and converting it back to fiat currency would have eliminated their concerns. BTW, I checked some of the local media in New Zealand. There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding this investment.
They could do that but it isn't their money and they need to be careful as to how they are going to approach this new fund because it is new and volatile and you don't want to be on the receiving end of the allegations about skimming the fund because it is in early stages.
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the official uses of bitcoin other then trading? on: March 29, 2021, 10:05:34 AM
I heard that BTC wasn't intended to be a trading asset but instead to become a currency and being used to replace the existing paper money, although we all know that this vision isn't how bitcoin really turns out to be but I'm sure the official use of it is to be used as a tool of payment. many people said btc is like digital gold but that's not really what btc was meant to be used for right?
it's little by little stray away from its main purpose although some people still use it but struggling to keep up with the fee, I think it's fine the way it is right now.
That was the initial plan but here we are right now and I think that it will come here eventually because if bitcoin was supposed to be currency then it should be traded like Forex. I think that besides trading bitcoin is also a good medium to use for transactions like buying items online although most of the time an escrow is needed to insure safety in the case of scamming and bitcoin is also an asset that you can use to hodl your investment in long-term to make a profit.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A quick thought on how to help/save bitcoin. on: March 29, 2021, 09:19:04 AM
That what whales do, just follow and join certain groups, they will give you a heads up when is the best time to buy and sell not just Bitcoin but other coins as well. Rather than making a group of small volume of people which has no impact on the Bitcoin when they tweet, why not join the big one instead.
That is if you know where to find one because most of this groups that you are trying to patronize sometimes are in it for the quick cash grab from the people that will be joining their group for nothing which should have been obvious in the start. Also following a certain person should have the criteria that they are active and interacts with their followers because if not then there is a low chance that they are going to sway the market.
1649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government ban on crypto on: March 29, 2021, 08:31:03 AM
i think government should not consider bitcoin as an illegal.other government ban bitcoin and they destroy the image of bitcoin.
That is the best thing to happen to bitcoin, being recognized by the state in a good way but every government differs in their way of thinking so we don't have a grasp on how they think unless we put people in the seat that knows what they are doing, competent and deserves their seat. There are a lot of reasons for governments to ban bitcoin and I don't think that they really want to destroy the image because if they were to ban it then the image of bitcoin is already destroyed in their perspective.
1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Institutional hodling and BTC being a speculative asset on: March 29, 2021, 07:39:05 AM
You are focusing a lot on short term fluctuations of the market and are also confusing day trading with investment.
Short term fluctuations are something that a day trader who never "invests" in bitcoin is looking for.
This kind of person that don't really day trade and are worrying about the drops in the prices from time to time are people that believes that if they have a bitcoin, they can get a lot of money as quick as possible which is the wrong mindset when you enter in bitcoin market or for anything finance related matter at that.
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc is better then gf on: March 29, 2021, 06:59:07 AM
Your SO will be jealous because you didn't give her the adequate attention and you aren't communicating well.

Who the fuck wants a “partner” or “SO”!?

Bitcoin is becoming even more attractive.
That is your choice, I mean if you really love yourself and you are so independent that you don't need to be in bed with someone then good for you. I do want an SO and I don't want bitcoin to be the only reason that I live even if it is attractive, I mean when bitcoin becomes your comfort zone, you eventually have to get out of it to become better, you can't have too much of the good things after all.
1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc is better then gf on: March 29, 2021, 06:25:09 AM
You can always refuse to give money to your girlfriend, unless you are a sugar daddy. If your girlfriend is cheating on you, it is because you didn't see the red flags at the start. If your girlfriend loves you for who you are, you can almost always take her anywhere cheaper, it doesn't have to always be fancy and expensive. Any person needs attention in this case it is an intimate relationship so it is a given. Your SO will be jealous because you didn't give her the adequate attention and you aren't communicating well. I planned to list a counter to all the cons of having a girlfriend but then I realize that I don't need to because yes they might be true they are also avoidable things and stereotyping a person. If you can do well in both then it is for the best. OP is an incel in my opinion.
1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has the potential to become the central bank of the central banks on: March 29, 2021, 04:57:02 AM
This is a real possibility, it was not long ago we could see how much gold content a paper currency was supposed to represent, this changed because it benefited the central banks but if for some reason things get out of control and central banks need to once again back their currencies with something they could choose a basket of assets instead of just backing their currency with gold, and if that is the case then bitcoin could without a doubt be one of the assets which will be used by central banks for this purpose.
I don't think so, centralized and decentralized are like oil and water, they don't mix well and there isn't any part of bitcoin that is going to be pleasing for central banks in the first place, I mean they don't like it in the first place so why get in bed with your enemy right, I would say that the best thing to happen for these two is to coexist and not combine because if that were so then central banks will eventually gain the upper hand because they are organized compared to bitcoin.
1654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Type of people who buy bitcoin. on: March 29, 2021, 04:17:12 AM
If the minimum wage earners can save some money out of their wages then maybe they might be able to buy bitcoin but considering that the average minimum wages around the world is low, I don't think that they don't have the luxury to save because most of these people spend their wages either in expenses like bills or debts.
1655  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Thoughts on My First Ever Trade BTC Long on: March 29, 2021, 03:33:27 AM
Just wait for the price to fall back, you don't need to ride the current hype since there is no guarantee for it to hold for long, and when the price decreased then grab the chance to put your money but don't put them all at once. Some people regretted their decision when the price was fell back to 30k+ after it finally reached 40k, they didn't grab the chance to invest. Now it's not gonna happen since we are far from that. That's why if the price will gonna get to that point again, you should guys know what you gonna do.
This is somewhat right and wrong, right because you can get more bitcoin out of your money when the prices are down and if the prices are going to go back up and go higher then you will get a higher profit margin but that depends on how long you are going to hodl and how patient you are even if the prices are starting to go up. Wrong because you might get left behind because there is uncertainty that the prices are going to down and if the reverse were to happen then you will be buying less bitcoin for your money if you get in late.
1656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions based on actual data / mathematics on: March 29, 2021, 02:51:50 AM
But let me remind you that 99.9% of people making predictions are basing their predictions on nothing but wishes and daydreams. There is no math in there.
If we were to make some similarities with bitcoin and stocks, not every predictions are based on nothingness, there is some math and data analytics behind some of them and saying that 99.9% of people making predictions is a farcical claim. Although I am saying that there is a math behind this I am not saying that it is easy to do that, they do complex calculations for that as far as I know.
1657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was invited to speak about Bitcoin to financial management college students on: March 28, 2021, 04:27:55 AM
And here's another good news. I am invited again by the same university to conduct another virtual class this coming April 3rd. This time, it will be a new batch of students and one of my long-time colleagues will also be joining me to be the guest speaker as well.

I can feel that the university is slowly gonna acknowledge the importance of their students to be educated about Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, etc. It's a great start!
Congratulations, I can see that your seminar/speech did something to make them do a repeat. I hope that it will be another successful seminar. Do you plan hosting this kind of virtual thing in other schools in the future? I hope that you will do so and I hope that other school administration will acknowledge and reach you out to do a seminar on their students too.
1658  Economy / Economics / Re: Flexible Work Schedule on: March 27, 2021, 11:05:09 AM
~
Obviously if a company is paying you they wont want that you work less hours and therefore be less productive but keep getting the same wages. When the employee hired by the company will work, only then the company will grow, and wages can be made out of the profit.
However, Flexible Work hours gives the employee the flexibility to work at their own feasible time but they still have to complete the 8 or 9 working hours quota.
That's how it should be when capitalism was first introduced, when the machines starts taking over and helping with the job, the people that are working should be getting less hours, this wasn't a very popular idea for many companies because they will have to pay more workers this way, working for 8 to 9 hours is not a flexible work schedule no matter how much you divide it in a day because in the end and 8 and 9 hours is 8 and 9 hours which takes a lot of your time for the day, imagine a job that slowly kills you, it doesn't matter if the schedule is flexible if you don't have any time to do anything out of work and pursue your other passions.
1659  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh militants use Bitcoins for laundering money to Kashmir on: March 27, 2021, 10:24:22 AM
I know very well that news like this will cause a lot of countries to be planning to ban Bitcoin, but it wouldn’t make any sense at all. For me I would say that the best thing for them to do is to make sure that they don’t ban it and then they would look for ways they are going to regulating it, if issues like this are going to keep popping up. If they ban cryptocurrencies, then people will resort to mostly making use of P2P. So, banning crypto doesn’t make any sense.

Although sometimes I feel issues like this are usually being exaggerated because they have to do with Bitcoin, we know very well that these people have been making use of fiat and no one is talking about it, but when it is Bitcoin they start making noise about it.
That is the best case for bitcoin, being regulated but you have to consider the countries that are banning it, most of them have a really tense environment which means that they will have to do anything they can to stop the opposing forces to fund their activities and to establish peace in the region which is difficult because there are militants that are opposing the government. That is the sad truth, media likes to go for the sensational things rather than the truth.
1660  Economy / Economics / Re: Flexible Work Schedule on: March 27, 2021, 09:43:18 AM
Flexible work schedule in my opinion doesn't solve the fact that people should be working less amount of time for the same wages because there are machines and flexibility should come from having more workers that are working less time for example but considering that this will not make people become a slave to their work, nobody is willing to do it. To me, I like the idea of reducing the amount of work hours and increasing the wages because that kind of thing can help boost morale and it is already proven that when you put a good salary for a worker, their productivity increases.
