301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Will You Do To Recover Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2019, 12:37:51 PM
I was in a similar situation a few years ago, and I failed to recover the coins despite trying everything I could. I received some altcoins as a bonus for my work and forgot about them. Later during the 2017 bubble the price of those coins skyrocketed, and I tried to access them, but couldn't find the wallet file on my computer. I used hard drive recovery tools and found some wallet.dat file, but it was corrupt and couldn't be opened. Looking at hex dump, it looks like large parts of it were already overwritten by other data.

So, generally recovery will either be very easy if you have the right password and wallet, or effectively impossible.
What a sad story pal... I don't know whether to feel good that I ain't too early discovering bitcoin, and I don't have such experience

It's a pity when we realize that we wasted a lot of bitcoin from the past where bitcoin still wasn't that popular. And now, we're regretting everything.
For op, it would be hard for you to recover that bitcoin. A little chance or probably no change of recovering it. I mean, it was such a long time (if it's a real story). 7 years, but if the site was still alive, try remembering your account as much as possible, but if the site isn't available already, then I guess, you need to move on.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Thoughts On Jorg Molt on: November 12, 2019, 10:50:02 AM
I won't spend my 1 hour watching a scammer. Basically I'm just skipping parts looking for the part where he will say something about him being a co-founder of bitcoin. And I won't listen to the history of his life because I'm not interested at all. Most of the things he said were just unnecessary to what I'm looking. If ever you know what part he said something about it, let me know which part. I'm only interested about him proving himself being a co-founder.
No matter how long he'll spend time talking, a scammer will always be a scammer. Unless he can prove that he's really the co-founder which I highly doubt.
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are underutilizing Bitcoin on: November 12, 2019, 02:58:18 AM
Got the point that we have to use bitcoin as a means of payment, day to day transactions to buy/sell things but the problem is that, there's no enough merchants who accept bitcoin. Well it depends on the adoption on a certain country. But not all country have enough entities that would accept crypto. Here in my country, even if there's no strict regulations on crypto, it's still hard to find shops where I can use bitcoin to pay them. In order to utilize my bitcoin, I have to convert it with fiat so I can use it to buy things.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners now is your chance on: November 11, 2019, 03:35:31 PM
I won't stop you nor anyone if you want to buy more altcoins especially it's still good enough to buy. But what I can only say is to be careful with choosing and buying altcoins or you'll end up losing your money. Just make sure that the coins you will choose are doing good in the market and are not those who seems unstable enough to last in a long run. Invest on something you're sure you won't regret.
305  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: November 11, 2019, 02:49:12 PM
In my point of view, I don't think most Facebook users are well aware of Libra. Us, crypto users, of course knew about it but what about the others? We all know that Facebook is really popular like almost everyone have Facebook account but most people probably don't know what cryptocurrency is, as well as Libra. They are just into social media, entertainment but might not be interested with this kind of things. I know I can't be too sure about this, but I'm just looking at the other side. We're expecting that a lot of people would use Libra since Facebook is a big company, but I think this is just because we're aware of Libra.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 Concerns You Have For Bitcoin on: November 11, 2019, 10:36:29 AM
My concerns focuses if bitcoin will be adopted

1. Scams and Hacks which is very inevitable on the internet. So if Bitcoin achieve mass adoption, scamming and hacking will be more rampant. Non-techy people will be at disadvantage
2. We don't have any idea about its future value. So people will always have to predict what would be it's value in the future
3. Environment. Right now, one concern here in bitcoin is the electricity it consumes. If the mass with adopt it, more electricity will be consumed and it would affect the environment really bad.
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that cryptos such as Bitcoin would be mainstream? on: November 11, 2019, 09:59:27 AM
Possible but far from reality. First, not all governments will adopt cryptocurrency because it's decentralized. Second, not everyone can understand blockchain technology and won't take the risk to adopt it. Third, due to its volatility, it would be hard for bitcoin to be used in everyday transaction because the price are not stable at all.
Zimbabwe are slowly adopting it because of their economic crisis, people are looking for an alternative. Though bitcoin and crypto can still be adopted by other countries, only as an alternative currency but not as a main currency.
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Business ideas with 60 Bitcoin? What would you do? on: November 10, 2019, 07:23:26 AM
Casino and exchanges are hard businesses actually. And it's a big risk to use your 60 btc on this kind of business when you still don't have team to work with. Find first someone you can work with before deciding what to make a business. But since it's a big risk, why not just create another business idea but still into crypto. Something like online shops that will accept crypto then you can sell some crypto or bitcoin merch. I think that's more realistic, though the profit might not be big compared to others.
309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alright, I made it obvious this time on: November 10, 2019, 06:46:21 AM
Why don't you tell us something about your article first? A brief summary

I don't know what you are talking about. If you explained it here in a few words, about 200, more people would get interested and click in your post.
Same thought. The topic is not very clear. First is op didn't include some introduction or summary here in his thread. Second, the article starts with a picture, and asking us if we remembered that picture. You said if we don't know, go to other page which I think not everyone will do since it will took a lot of time instead of giving us short preview about the model.. Personally I don't understand the article because I'm just seeing different graphs without clear and easier-to-understand explanation.  I don't have an idea about stock-to-flow model, and I think the others too so you should have at least started your article with introduction and explaining what really the model is all about.

This is just my opinion so I hope, you take this lightly or suggestion and not as something negative.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never possible earn free bitcoin without work. on: November 09, 2019, 04:14:50 PM
Just like what you have stated, there are different ways to earn bitcoin but there's no such thing as free. We always need to give efforts and work for it. That's the common mistake and I don't know why do they think that you can earn free bitcoin. Obviously, beginners are easy to fall for it that's why they tend to get scammed but that's one thing they need to learn and to change that idea. Because in crypto, we have to work for something we want to have.
311  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bullish time? on: November 09, 2019, 03:21:22 PM
Nakita naman na natin ang pagiging positive ng presidente ng China sa blockchain technology at kung ano ang naging epekto nito sa market kamakailan lang. With this kind of news na male-lessen ang restrictions sa bitcoin, magkakaroon talaga eto nag epekto sa market for longer run.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie trader be like on: November 09, 2019, 02:32:48 PM
That's a pity but I think that's just normal especially for beginners since they're still learning and gaining knowledge. That's a common problem and issue we experience when starting. Very disappointing but acceptance and learnings based on experience will do.
Trading is not as easy as it is, you need to learn first how it works and how to make it profitable for you. Just like what you've said, planning is always need not only in trading but  almost everything you do as well.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can share your own opinion if you have. on: November 09, 2019, 01:18:05 PM
A success in crypto market doesn't depend on what kind of work you're doing. Regardless if it's trading or investing, if you're good at what you're doing, you can be successful. Not all traders are successful, same goes for investors, if they don't really analyze well the performance of the market. It's the matter of your capability and persistence to be a successful trader or investor.
314  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [KARAGDAGANG KAALAMAN] I-Maximize Ang Resources, Gumamit ng Grammarly on: November 08, 2019, 01:46:11 PM
Marami na kong nakikitang nag popromote ng Grammarly dito sa local board. Well I can say na worth it naman siya i-promote since nakakatulong talaga sya.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: November 08, 2019, 01:15:12 PM
I do share it with my friends and colleagues but I know that's not enough to achieve mass adoption. But it's already a great contribution. Imagine if we all shared it to someone and those people, after learning enough knowledge about bitcoin, will also share it to their other friends, and the chain will continue. But that's not easy since not everyone is interested.
I also share some articles and news on my social media so that it's easier to spread though there's no guarantee that they will look into it. But I think best promotions work on commercials. If we could just promote bitcoin and crypto on our local tv, that would be great
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you trust bitcoin related services? on: November 08, 2019, 10:16:35 AM
I'm also skeptical with websites but since I need them or let's say I just want to gamble, of course to satisfy myself I will find a site and will gamble for a certain time. But how do I chose which site to use or visit? I guess recommendations of my close friends. Because in the first place they won't recommend certain website if it's not a legit one. I'll take their suggestions but will also do prior research. And if other says, it's good then I think that's the time for me to try that site.

As for a new service, it's hard to gain trust since they're just new. So every time I will try that site, I am more careful
317  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: November 08, 2019, 04:24:14 AM
Don't just depend on others or even on a popular personality's prediction if you don't want to end up like that. People who easily believe with others are the one who are vulnerable for scams. That doesn't fit here. You always have to think critical, predictions are predictions. Make your own predictions base on your research so you won't get disappointed if the things other people said, didn't happen.
And in your title, you're looking for free money. There's no free money, everything you'll get, there's always an exchange for it.
318  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Digital Currency para sa mga biktima ng Lindol on: November 07, 2019, 05:32:25 PM
Go ako sa aim mo to help those victims ng lindol and how you wanted to maximize cryptocurrency kahit sa pag donate lang. But I'm wondering since it's established my Sen. Pacquiao, isn't what you're going to donate will be credited to him? Since it's his name, the site is showing.
Though regardless naman kung may name or wala as long makatulong, that's enough already. Medyo doubt lang din ako since hindi tayo ganun ka sigurado kung well established ba yung knowledge ni Manny when it comes to crypto.
319  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone else remember this? on: November 07, 2019, 03:31:11 PM
Millenials nowadays only want what's the best for them. They don't really think much about how the company is working and performing as long as they can receive payment from the company, that's fine enough. And not every graduates don't just enjoy doing nothing at home.
Although millenials are becoming less competent with certain things since their busy fitting and being competent with technology just like the others. And now their seeing opportunities in the internet to find job.
320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto “Marketing Experts” End Up in Scams, Affirms Jimmy Song on: November 07, 2019, 02:57:04 PM
He has a point but I don't think that it's also correct to generalize all marketing experts as a scam. They're just doing their job since it's their job to promote the coins in the public. And I believe that's normal for a company to advertise and promote it. Every advertising is too much compare in the actual product or service they offer. It's a way to attract possible customers. It depends on the people if they will believe what the marketing experts will say. Though we cannot remove that some so-called-experts are just actually promotion shitcoins.
