So I was mining on two computers all night.  I didn't mean to but I now see I was mining both on the same wallet.  Now one wallet has a balance and the other still does not even though the address shows the same? Anyone tell me what happened?

When you mine a block, it adds an address to your wallet, so even though the two wallets share some addresses, any mining-related addresses created after you copied the wallet from one to the other are only stored in the wallet from the daemon that mined the block.

For example, I ran EC2 instances which all had the same 'wallet' (created an AMI), but each's wallet changed once they mined a block, and each had a different balance.

@Vorksholk What instance type did you use?  I guess spot instances might not be good to use since the mined block will not be shared with the common wallet?

I used g2 instances, spot with volumes that don't delete on shutdown (uncheck delete on termination in the storage menu when bidding).

It's just a pain in the ass when instances get canceled, but you don't lose coins.

Everyone seeing confirmed coin payouts lately? all my miners are really at it today showing high amounts of blocks found, I know that's not accurate all, but never seen it this bad. mining on 5 rigs. I continually restart miners when I see it happening. Not sure if even though we see bogus blocks found that if somewhere in there, there is real blocks being found?

Dev did you say you were going to release a more efficient miner today?  Smiley

Yeah. On my gpu it's running about 6x as fast. Also we fixed the crashing and the fast-block stuff. (at least, mostly fixed it). So, sometime tonight once we've cleaned everything up a bit you can expect a release that addresses many of the problems people were having.

sounds like your windows resources may have been corrupted. Try running "sfc /scannow" from an administrative command prompt, then run Sia again.

So there are at least 2 people claim they are mining at x10 times faster than the rest of us...   Wanna sell us your config ?  Roll Eyes

I was talking to wolf0 on irc and he said the secret it to replace all of the 5's with 7's

Seriously though they aren't making simple config changes but rather rewritting the entire miner itself.

oh god I wonder that all the time.

someone needs to put the total coinbase yield on a website somewhere so we can can on CMC for visibility.

apart from that...

300000 in first block.

10,000 in last decreasing block.

10 minutes per block.

144 blocks/day.

300000-10000 = total range of block subsidy = 290000

290000/2 = average block subsidy in 290000 blocks = 145000 sia/block on average for 290000 blocks

290000 blocks = 2900000 minutes = 48333 hours = 2014 days = 5.5 years = you'll be here a while

so for 5.5 years, we'll have an average block subsidy of 145000 sia/block.

after 5.5 years, the subsity is 10k30k sia.

after 5.5 years, there will be 42,050,000,000 sia in existence.

after 5.5 years, there will be a yearly infaltion of 10k30k sia * 144 blocks * 365 days = 525.6 million 1.5768 billion

this 525.6 million1.5768 billion will begin at a 3.75% yearly inflation of 42,050,000,000 coins.

this will decrease to 525.600,600/42,575,600,0001,576,800,000/43626800000 = 3.571% yearly inflation

this is about a 1.24%4.77% decrease in inflation yearly forever.

please let me know if im wrong.

EDIT: I was wrong, and the post has  been butchered accordingly Cheesy

So why is there no exchange yet?

B/C we are not smart men Sad

I would much rather see this on the exchange after the difficulty increases and after some stabilizing of price for storage. Otherwise it may become stuck in some flat undervalued rate or the target of some pump and dump scheme before it even gets its footing. Some of the best coins started with trading threads rather than direct to exchange.
Agree, steady as she goes. I am in know hurry with this coin and storage concept. Let it develop and flow at its own pace. Little by little it will smoothen out around the edges.  I think it will grow and get a lot of interest. Devs just need to stay out in front and keep it alive and capture the market. Always someone else looking on, that would copy the idea.

True, but still, now is the time to let influential people know that this exists. If you have someone you respect in the cryptosphere that gives you understanding, now is the time to tell them, even if we are not in an exchange.

Thanks for all the stats! And if anyone wants to know the inflation rate per year paste this into google and it will give you a graph:
y=(1.5768/(42.05+1.5768(x-1)))*100

For the first year (x=1) the inflation is about 3.75%, 10th year it is about 2.8%, and 50th year about 1.32%.
