Will there be a Sia App for Android? I just purchased the Note 5 and these models no longer have SD card. They all come pre downloaded with Microsoft Onebox and a temp subscription.

Can we make a Sia app so people with no SD cards can expand their phone storage? Also make it cheaper and better than onebox?

Hope to see some mining pool soon, this will enliven the states of miners with low hash power.

Ya it has. Once in a blue moon someone pops up willing to sell a "SIA Fund" last I saw in trade thread was like for 10 million SIA, don't quote me on that lol

EDIT: nextgencoin: info

http://www.siacoin.com/siafunds.html

I'd like to get a few myself lol

When are siafund holders going to be able to

   1. see their siafunds in the gui
   2. be able to transfer their siafunds
   3. be able to obtain the Sia collected by their siafunds

So far the devs have continued to push this off.

You would think that the devs would be more appreciative to their initial investors and try to provide these basic promised features to them.

Could we please get an update and an ETA on when these features will be released?

Apologies if it's already done, but I think not.

When can we expect release that allows us to SAFELY/USER FRIENDLY  manage the sianotes ?  Smiley

i would like to know that too.

0.4.2 has good 'siac' support for siafunds. A GUI plugin will probably follow in 2-3 weeks unless someone else writes one. Wouldn't be too difficult since the siacoins plugin already exists and the code would be very similar. 0.4.2 will be out sometime in the next 24-96 horus (both GUI and cli)

One of the blocks (16295 I believe) caused the explorer to have errors. We're still debugging it. Hope to have it back up in the next 3-5 days. If we get lucky, it'll be up sooner. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Mining pool has been delayed further, sorry guys. Need to get the explorer sorted out, need to get the database corruption sorted out, need to get the startup-slowness sorted out, need to give Siafunds some more attention, need to give the file uploading process more attention. Mining pool might be ready before October, might not. Depends on where we decide to prioritize things, but our heavy priority is on uploading files for the near future (and making a better block explorer!).

Big shoutout to bitspill, autumnalscooter, fornax, Wolf`, allejuppa, cyrozap, and drohgio for helping with the development process. Especially to bitspill and autumnalscooter, who have contributed a significant amount to the Sia repo directly as volunteers.

I have spare space, but I'm not practically sure how to make a contribution with my space to the network and how I get a contribution. I've read the white-paper, but would need something more of a hand-on tutorial - or is it still to early to open up my HDDs for your storing?

This is the closest thing we've got to a tutorial right now: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zNpAct53E_5p4KO3_-ZOrg5N9HQw8ACTQ7zAyksSIf8

We're still improving the documentation

https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-UI/releases/tag/v0.4.2-beta

v0.4.2 is ready. Some issues, like not being able to see your password, are fixed. Others, like the frequent database corruptions, are not.

I've just run the new sia-ui.
Clicked on load legacy wallet.
It asks for a password even though the old wallet wasn't encrypted.
I entered an empty password but no way.
Please help.

I would just redownload and start fresh with a new copy of the client. Wait for it to download the blocks before you try anything. (It took a really long time for mine to update fyi like 6-7 hours or something)

When you click wallet the first time it should show you the password. Just copy and paste that somewhere safe.

If you don't see anything on the screen where it says something like "here's your password" just double click to select the text, copy and paste it somewhere since sometimes there's a display error and it doesnt always show.

Then just load your legacy wallet again.

This is what I did and it worked for me (and I ran into the problem where I couldn't see the pass it generated for me too.. but I got around that by double clicking the text to select everything and then copy/pasting.

I started fresh.
It stopped downlaoding blocks at 16374, so I assume that's the last block (no way to check it since the explorer is down).
If I go to the wallet tab, there is no password.
What next?

I think the password should have displayed the first time you clicked on the wallet tab. Did you just dismiss the popup? I can't remember how I did it but also try clicking on the on "locked" at the top right of the screen when you're in the wallet tab.

I'm pretty sure when you click "wallet" (ONLY for the first time) the popup shows up and you have to copy and paste that lonnng password.

The only thing I can say is to try a 100% fresh copy and then write the password from the popup when you click "wallet" for the first time. It only shows up ONCE.

I don't know what else to tell you, perhaps others can chime in on the subject.

also fyi, we are in fact currently at block # 16374

thanks!
I tried removing the wallet folder to start fresh, killed siad, run the ui, click on lock, get the pass, unlock, load legacy wallet, close ui, kill siad, run ui, balance = 0....

EDIT: after a while the balance is shown! :-)
