Has anyone been able to get into their accounts on Cryptsy? I have been locked out for over a week due to their 2 factor text message system being down.

I can get into my account, but I still can't withdraw anything yet.  I haven't checked to see if the funds went to Vernon's bitcoin address.

How does that work ?

152546: <dc:creator><rdf:Seq><rdf:li xml:lang="x-default">crypt cracker</rdf:li></rdf:Seq></dc:creator>

https://www.docdroid.net/HRCBL8f/cryptsyrecoverybountyfinal.pdf.html

1. So paul drafts such an eloquent contract prints it out signs it, scans it back, creates a .pdf and sends it to the gentleman hacker ?
2. gentleman hacker does not print it out, instead hand signs a piece of paper, scans that, pastes that into the file and re-.pdf's it ?

If paul is the creator of the document it would say so no ? Try re-.pdf'ing the original document, you think your name will over write the creator name crypt cracker ?

Or did the gentleman hacker so eloquently draft this nice reading contract, pdf it, but not print it out her side in order to sign it instead scribble some chicken scrawl on a piece of paper as the .sig scan that and paste it in to the original working document, then .pdf it, send it to paul who does print it out in order to sign it, then rescan and .pdf it and upload it to that hosting site?

Don't get it. Why would any hacker steal coins and leave them sat in the same account for months, just to hand them back for a percentage of the stolen coin? In those months, those stolen coins could have been sent through numerous addresses, coin mixers, exchanged etc.. making it very difficult to trace. Smells like a scam to hide a scam.

Do not allow demand to exceed capacity. Do not allow mempools to forget transactions. Relay all transactions. Eventually confirm all transactions.

Please contact support.  You can ask for me if you like.
Thanks!

Hope the funds get returned! This whole situation is quite interesting. Best of luck getting the exchange going again.

Wish I could answer that myself.  At this point were not holding our breath on this, but it was presented to us in a somewhat believable way
so Paul decided to give the guy a chance to prove himself.

So far nothing

Many publications are getting it wrong I'm not the hacker but I do have the ability to recover the coins as has been discussed with Vern. If everything gos accordingly and it should the coins will be recovered in the coming days.

Why yes indeed, the gentleman hacker is the original author of that lovely most eloquent contract.

A most unique presentation of the percent sign.

A well thought out well written contract. What does that suggest ?

Only what can be "recovered" are 11825 BTC.

Altcoins are already sold and "hacker" took 4685 BTC for them,so it is impossible to recover them - https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/1356a64174770337

Only he can do is to "recover" BTC from sold altcoins

But what do we need this most carefully thought out cleverly eloquent contract for in the first place?

1 - does the gentleman hacker say to the real cracker 'hey man send all the btc back to big ole vern, once he receives it all, he will then give us some back coz we got a contract' ?

2 - or does the gentleman hacker himself move all the btc back to big ole vern and once he receives it because of this lovely contract he expects paul to send him back his bounty ?

And mind you if something should go wrong, we can decrypt his pgp and learn who he is. That is what ? In case big ole vern does not honor the contract?

Hey how about this.

We make an even nicer more cleverly thought out contract where big ole vern agrees in writing that you keep your bounty and just send the remainder to him. Or if you have this believable way to recover the btc, instruct the real cracker to hold back the agreed upon bounty just send the balance to the specified address.

Because we are all in agreement that we are entitled to retain the agreed upon sum. Stated right there in the contract  Roll Eyes

See we moved from this:

Quote
Hello I have offered to give big Vern the identity of the person that committed the theft against cryptsy and help them be put to justice but he is not responding to me. I offered my services and to divulge this information for a bounty of %30 of the stolen funds I also said I am willing to negotiate a bit to make things easier

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1334070.msg13611902#msg13611902

In which case an independent agreement outside of the movement of the btc would be necessary

to this:

Quote
You think I was able to do this without putting in any work? I'm getting paid a bounty because I'm actually able to recover the coins.

and

this:

Quote
Now that the technicalities are out of the way the coins can start to be recovered.

this:

Quote
Working out the contract right now. Once finalized all customers can look forward to receiving their coins in the coming days

this:

Quote
Funds to be recovered immediately once Cryptsy finalizes and signs my contract

Quote
As soon as Cryptsy finalizes and signs a contract I will be able to basically immediately get the coins back in the rightful owners hands

and of course this:

Quote
If everything gos accordingly and it should the coins will be recovered in the coming days

So we went from I know who did it and will identify them if you pay me the bounty. We will need an agreement to that. To, The funds will move, I can cause the funds to move, with some luck the funds will start moving. Once you sign that contract that agrees to give me back some of the funds, all the funds will start moving.

But there is more ?

The inevitable good faith payment up front ?  Say maybe 2 btc before the funds move ?  Everything is lined up to move the funds into the specificed account, but we must show our good faith paul, it's only a couple of btc...  Roll Eyes

What is believable about someone coming out of the blue and saying that even though they are capable of acquiring 13,000 BTC they will then give you 11,250 BTC? You said they did nothing behind the scenes to prove they can do this, I'm not sure why anyone is treating this as anything but a troll?

How does any of this make sense? Why would anyone who isn't liable for the 13,000 BTC debt just hand over 11k btc? Why do you guys think this is legitimate?

Why you try to clear your (alias ) name ? Just concentrate and do what you promised instead!

Contract is signed so why suddenly wait a few days to transfer the coins when you could do it immediately ? You just need some attention ?

After much thought; I'm willing to be the intermediary.

Just send the BTC to the addy below and I'll make sure Paul gets them Smiley

"recovered in the coming days" means that we have been trolled.  The coins should have already been moved.

Wouldn't it be rational to claim that Zhou Tong is one person, and Chen Jinghai is another?

There's no reason whatsoever to involve a second person called "Chen" in anything. The simplest explanation that fits all the known facts (including the LR-selling you, just like Zhou, seem to skip over) requires only ... Zhou.

Contract has been agreed upon by Cryptsy/Paul Vernon and myself and has been signed by both parties. You can view the contract here: https://www.docdroid.net/HRCBL8f/cryptsyrecoverybountyfinal.pdf.html Now that the technicalities are out of the way the coins can start to be recovered.

This contract has a legal value of zero.
