We don't know if it was Vern. The custodian could have wallet access or possibly other incidental employees like Mullick or DC Girl. However, Vern is the most likely culprit.

One interesting take away is that there is a strong message out there that exchanges will not accept Cryptsy's coins. In fact, they may even seize them.

I think we need to start maintaining a blacklist for individuals that harm crypto and have industry players generally agree that it's alright to seize coins from specific individuals like Paul Vernon should they ever deposit them in exchanges or other services that honor the blacklists.

dcgirl confirmed i believe pages back that she was paid for work with cryptsy. something about the rate being low but was paid to do some interface work for bitebi9. I don't know what level of staff this constitutes of for how long but she was on the paid books.

She spent a year or two playing regular user. (with a different name)
Then she was made a chatbox moderator which is a non-paying job.
And her being paid to work on the Chinese site is just work done at the end of Cryptsy.
So i would say that doesn't count. (sounds like 1 off piece work at the end of Cryptsy's life)

After hack,Vernon said that he called Shaun Bridges,rogue Secret Service agent to help - Vernon claimed that in statment on Cryptsy blog after he admitted hack happened 1.5 years ago.

During mine investigation of Cryptsy BTC wallets I found that at least 585 BTC from one of siezed Silkroad BTC wallets came through Cryptsy BTC wallets in time when Shaun Bridges controlled them.From Cryptsy these BTCs from Silkorad seized accounts went to other BTC wallet and together with BTCs from Mintpal,  all were transfered to Bitfinex and sold.

But, one 75 BTC transaction from Silkroad seized account went directly to Cryptsy cold wallet and stayed there untiil hack two months later.It was happening in May 2014, 2 months before hack.I suspect that these 75 BTC is payment for laundering.So, Vernon knew Shaun Bridges at least 2 months before hack.

After Shaun Bridges and Carl Force came under investigation in June 2014,all transactions from that seized Silkroad BTC wallet stopped and there are still 420 BTC in it.
