It seems that seyboth wild journey in the French open has come to an end the only impressive performance he showed was against medvedev when he beat him despite being a heavy underdog but today against nishioka he lost unexpectedly, nishioka will face etcheverry next he has a good chance making it to the quarter final.

This is a problem with lower ranked players on atp tour. Once they win a big match against a big player from top 5 or top 10 they think they have done a big thing. But then they lose against an opponent that is on the same level as them or worst. In womens tennis its different . But still i think we can expect more from him in the future.

Seyboth is really good with his performance. He gave a tough fight and the final set was completely one sided. Playing 5 sets is really hard and needs good stamina. First three sets were really in favour of Seyboth and the tie breaker loss caused him loss the match. In the women's tennis it was Rybakina who is unlucky. She had walked over against Sorribes Tormo citing illness. The Italian Open win could've given her the advantage and positive mind to reach atleast finals. The match between Danilovic and Jabeur is going on, and Danilovic leads winning the first set. It looks like the underdog gonna win the match. Swiatek have finished against Wang without allowing her to win a single point, 6-0 6-0..

They don't have the consistency in performance. Altmaier, who won against Sinner in a very competing match have lost to Dimitrov in a very easy way 6-4 6-3 6-1. In the match between Zverev and Tiafoe, both are giving tough competence. Tiafoe have won a set and Zverev is in must win situation in the second set and it looks like the set will move to tie breaker.

If you're looking for a last minute bet perhaps it's a nice opportunity to bet on Zverev.

Just on watching the match itself I wasn't able to keep the heart pumping normal. If I've gone for a bet it could've gone even higher. After the second set once again the fourth set have reached tie breaker and it goes point to point. Finally the tie breaker won by Zverev and the match too, 3-6 7 7-6 3 6-1 7 7-6 5.

It seems that we will not see Nadal on the tennis courts for a long time, certainly not this year and maybe only next year. After such a long tennis break, how ready will Nadal be for top tennis and can we expect him to play at the top level again and try to win the GS in Paris again? It seems to me that we are now looking at the end of a great tennis career and that the way is now open for Djokovic to win a record number of GS titles. What do you think? Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/65798097I think it will be the end of Nadal and that after Federer he will be the next to retire. Both Federer and Nadal didn’t really have major injuries in the beginning but once you get older, your body is more prone to injuries and heals slower. Djokovic will probably win one or more grandslams but we with the upcoming superstar (Alcaraz) it will be not so easy for him.

Next year he's turning what? 38? For his style of play it's like Roger turning 45. I fear his body is refusing to go on with this exhausting rhythm. And I'm not so sure about Djokovic as well. He had a number of injuries this year, most notable an elbow injury, possibly issues with his back. Frankly, I don't see him winning RG this year.

Indeed it is looking quite ominous for Nadal's playing career and especially winning more Grand Slam titles. It seems to be the life expectancy of a tennis players career of the mid 30's. TBH I'm surprised he has come so far, maybe he is regaining his confidence slowly on the clay court, and I believe that was his main issue recently, his confidence after the bad injury he had last year. He plays a tough opponent in Dimitrov next.

For me, Alcaraz is the main favorite to win the RG this year, and I think that Djokovic should look for his chance to win at least 1 more GS at Wimbledon or in Australia. In the end, Djokovic will probably succeed in his goal to win a record number of GS titles and thus officially become the GOAT, but his career is also coming to an end, and I don't think he will be able to play at the top level for much longer. I think that soon we will see only a new generation of tennis stars like Alcaraz, Medvedev, Tsitsipas and others on the tennis courts in the finals, and the big three will become a thing of the past.

Just watching Alcaraz against Musetti and he is playing some incredible points. Yeah there is an unforced error that was not needed here and there but in general he looks full of confidence and hitting shots like on the training. First favorite for sure but I still did not see Djoković play this year. If he is on his best, his experience could be the deciding factor. Draw looks quite unfair this year, all top contenders on the same side and just Rune/Ruud on other side.

I know this is going to sound really bad and hateful but I honestly think that Rafael Nadal should retire from his professional career. He is not going to achieve much at this stage and also after so many injuries. It will be a good decision for him to retire because he still has a long life to live after his career. And remember he will have to endure the pain that he is going through for the rest of his life because of these injuries. These surgeries are going to have some effect on his body in the latter stages of his life. Djokovic certainly has the chance in my opinion. But he does have some good competition as well.

Alcaraz vs Musetti, Alcaraz played an amazing tennis match, there isn't much that Musetti can do to improve his game, Alcaraz is unlikely to let this match go any further as the third set is already leading 4-2, thinking it will go long but the match was a bit uneven with Musetti not having the best form. In the previous match, Djokovic did not face any difficulties to advance to the quarter-finals, and will face Khachanov in that match who struggled in the first set against Sonego, but was able to take over in the next match and it looks like Sonego is facing a bit of injury.

Always hard for anyone to retire from something you love, but when you take Federer or Nadal as examples, these guys also have built decades of relationship with their fans. They weren't just playing, winning and then walking off court and that was it for the day or night. They deeply know that they will miss all these people who carried them through their entire career and that part of their emotions I think is really hard to overcome when you decide to make the final step and say goodbye. But I agree that most likely any tournament that Nadal will play from now on is not going to end well for him and in this year's French Open he might have even get destroyed by Djokovic, which would have been bad. If it had been against Alcaraz, he could have said that he is forwarding the torch to him to defend their era on clay. Amazing what Alcaraz is playing on clay.

Djokovic has apparently won easily again today. But that result and his level were mainly overshadowed by the whistling of the tennis fans in the stands. what I especially don't understand is why Djokovic thinks that everyone just accepts his behavior. He's got a lot of enemies since he doesn't want to get vaccinated with the anti virus against Covid 19. Other than that I don't think he's the big favorite to win this tournament. That really seems to be Alcaraz, but there are still a few outsiders who have good chances to have the final or take the title. The young generation would like to beat Djokovic.

I understand that it is hard for any athlete or player to retire. Especially after a career like this. It's like they are home when they are playing. All good things must come to an end. He will have to retire eventually. It will be better for him if he starts thinking about his health from now on and retires early. At this stage, it is not going to be an early retirement. But I hope you understand what I am trying to say. I also agree that there is a high chance that he is going to get destroyed by other players who are actually better than him in the current situation. Maybe he needs a final go at things to say goodbye to his fans.

Alcaraz was again supreme today. He is of course a favorite in every game, also on paper. Except maybe when he plays against Djokovic in the final. But today he played against an opponent who is still around 30th place in the world rankings. These are players who can all tap a decent level. But to beat Alcaraz, much more seems to be needed. He also gets better every round. It must be strange if we don't want to see Alcaraz - Djokovic in the final. Who's going to stop them? Too bad Nadal will be out of circulation for months. Perhaps better to put an end to his career.

Did you know that Alcaraz was still playing challengers in 2021? And now 1.5 years later he was already the number 1 in the world. So you see how fast things can go with players who have an exceptional amount of talent. There are other players who have become 1st in the world rankings so quickly in the past. I think Federer needed more time. Only Nadal won more tournaments as a teenager as a Spaniard. But it still seems very likely that this will be the new Nadal. I'm looking forward to the match between Djokovic and Alcaraz, and that match will probably take place this month in Paris.

... Nadal...
right now Nadal is also injured and get a surgery. I don't think he will be able to play in 5-6 months at least. However he is a strong player but "an old one"... and not "fit" to compete in some big tournaments. Alcaraz is performing very well in this RG. Today against Musetti he has been superlative. Another player that I like a lot is Tsitsipas. Against Ofner today has offered a great performance (7-5 6-3 6-0). Well Ofner is not a top player but he was enough "insidious" during the match (likewise in first set were he was in advantage for 1 breakpoint from the first game...)

Not only the leading young players, even the young ones down the order were performing good. Quite often we were able to see the underdog win the bets. At times we might feel this to be lucky, but there is real game which have brought the win to the player. It is Djokovic who is the only person who have been giving tough competence from the legendary list of players who are close to their days of retirement and concentrate on health and taking rest.
