I am so disappointed with the Portland TrailBlazers, they still seemed to be the same team who does not play good defense. They already have a good lead in the 4th quarter but in the crunch time, they allowed the Cavaliers to easily score, Garland and Mitchell destroyed them in the 4th quarter.

Yes, Lillard had a big game with 50 points, but that's useless if they can win games.

I agree, there were arguments in the past the Lillard is just wasting his prime years with the Trailblazers. They used to be one of the hottest team early, but now they are in the 11th spot and with that lost, their 5th straight.

So even if Lillard will score 50 points or more or made 3 in the logo, it's doesn't count. He has to make the team better, get into the playoff because as of now it seems that it doesn't look that way.

Is just like Jordan back then, he can easily be make huge numbers but the Bulls ended up losing. Lillard's talent might be wasted. He will retire just like other stars who didn't get any ring.

Unless he will be surrounded by great players who can help to bring the title of he will demand for a trade
and try to go with the team who are good at chasing the crown.

When Luka hit those threes the refs seemed to be calling everything against the Mavericks. It was like he willed them to victory while the refs weren’t making it easy on him. I would have liked to have seen the Lakers win but the Mavericks earned this one. Luka seems to make it a point to get triple doubles every time he’s matched up against LeBron James.

Yeah, it was all a big effort. That block from Christian Wood against Westbrook was amazing, he was having a cramped leg and yet he forced himself to jump and block it. That's what I always want to see from him. Helpful on both offensive and defensive end, the Mavericks needed that so badly as they are known to be weak at closing games.

It's another Luka Magic day and one of the amazing performance he has this season. There's no stoping for this kid to pursue his dream to be one of the Legendary NBA player. Every game is a thing to look for when he is playing, also the Lakers was not doing bad at all but that's just the way it is, The Mavs are more making their shots which was the reason to win in the 2OT.

The Lakers are actually lucky those shots from Timmy were not sinking in, because if all of those went in, the game could've ended earlier.
Nice work from Wenyen Gabriel though, he only made 14 points but most of them are clutch ones. The whole defense from the Lakers too seems to be getting better.

Other candidates are equally deserving to win but I also have no problem if Jokic gets it again. It probably helps that he appears to be a likable person and focuses on team wins rather than individual stats.

Jokic might win but I like Luka to have his chance this season. Unfortunately, his team is not as good as Jokic.

Luka's shoulder has too much weight in it. Christian Wood became inconsistent. Dinwiddie is the same. Tim Hardaway on his normal 3-5 three points per game. Something must be changed, like when Brunson was around stepping up his game, and Luka was benched because of injury.

I vote for Jokic too. It's says valuable and I know Luka is one heck of a valuable player but when it comes to team value, Jokic has the upper hand and it's definitely making their team better as it can be seen on paper as top of the Western Conference. And NBA and fans always rely on stats, that's proven for years. If Doncic wins, I am still at peace. I love watching those two players.

Yeah, that is the argument against Luka at this point. Not that argument but he has a weak team as compare to Jokic in the past 3-4 years wherein he has Murray, Porter Jr as a big help for him.

As compare to Luka who has to shoulder everything, he has to play 110% everytime just to seal a win.

So just imagine if Luka can play with the likes of Murray, Porter Jr, for sure he could win and impact the team and probably get a MVP nod from fans.

Yes, I definitely agree. Luka is good, no doubt but he should be needing a reliable player beside him so that he won't be lifting heavy loads every game. Christian Wood seems adjusting again and going on/off which brings inconsistencies to the team because sometimes he's not that reliable enough. Whereas, Jokic got a much easier job because he have those players mentioned in the same team and now, Gordon as well.

Hopefully, this two teams could reach farther in the post season because they both matured and improved. Not that sure though about the Mavericks because Luka will again lift the team at the end of the day.

Isn't it the Jazz has a complete change in their roster? they don't have Mitchell anymore and yet they are not tanking. So maybe if JC leaves then they can fight a good trade or replacement for him and become the new Jazz team. It's just how they are going to adjust next if ever he goes on another team. That game would not be close if the Mavs did not allow the Lakers to come back. They were in control of the game early with a huge lead but slowly the Lakers are chipping in. Still I love Luka though as his ability to decide in a close game is very impressive, it takes guys to shoot that 3 points and had the same level of accuracy.

Used to be because they took an early advantage while the other teams in the league are still adjusting and finding their rhythm as a team to synchronize with each other. But the thing is, I don't know where they got that early advantage because I really do think they could still do that these days because if teams in the league are adjusting, that means that they are also adjusting. So, they should help Lillard from contributing and step up so that they will participate in the playoffs. Seeing Lillard in Blazers is really a pity because his talents are sure wasted in a team that won't get anywhere far.

Luka has been breaking records of guess what? the last great player we have? it's Lebron James record when he was still very young. And maybe this make Luka motivated when he face Lebron because he wanted to break his records.

And I do agree that his basketball IQ is on a different level at his age, he see things that ordinary basketball player can only imagine doing in their NBA career. And with this kind of performance, it's going to be very close race for the regular MVP this season.

Lillard is such a good player, they just have yet to put enough talent around him for him to be able to bring a championship home.  I thought I had heard that he was going to be traded or wanted to be traded, maybe it was this past season or the offseason, but either way wasn't he disgruntled or something recently? I do like guys who have played on the same team their entire career, but his prime years are running out, he's gotta get with a team that can make something happen and fast.

I do believe he have a good team behind him. Jerami Grant is there and then Anfernee Simons. It's the consistency that is missing especially from Simons which I think is a good player, but he is young and badly need more experience.

I think they need to change their system, moving the ball more is probably the best solution. The reason why Lillard's teammate is inconsistent because they are focusing so much on Lillard when it comes to offense. Simons and Grant can drop 30 points in a game, actually it's not only Simons who are inconsistent but also Grant, maybe the problem is the system.

So true! Mavs are something special right ? but Luka is a freaking diamond and he is on the way to become the greatest that ever played basketball and he is still crazy young. More than this , Lakers really gave 100% last night in order to get that W but Luka simply didn't let them and he kept pushing for 3 points and most of them were a success.

Like you said , if he keeps playing like this and push himself over the limit , I have no doubt that whenever he will hit his prime , the league will stand no chance against him.

Yeah, you get the idea of what I'm thinking but it's not yet official and what teams do you think will be rushing to take him?

I heard about him declining the offer, maybe the offer is too low compared to his status now, but I have no idea that he bought a mansion in san Antonio. If we will use it as a hint, then most probably he is gonna with the Spurs and I think Spurs have enough salary cap to offer him a better contract. However, I think this team won't still make it to the playoffs.

Maybe the mansions in San Antonio is a good investment, and not necessarily him living in Texas to join the Spurs? But yeah there are rumors but no official statement released just yet. Clarkson is doing quite okay with Jazz, but a player like him would surely want a higher salary even if they don't make it to the playoffs. Maximize the profits first, then chase greatness second: I think this is the play that most NBA players are going after in this day and age.

Jordan Clarkson joining the Spurs is a news that's unheard of because that rumor wasn't surfacing in any sports news outlet, but we don't know and maybe there's some ongoing discussion because his rejection with the Jazz's contract extension has been flying anywhere already and if ever there's a team that will match Clarkson's asking price, I bet we will see him wearing another jersey next season.

Tonight there’s more with another doubleheader on ESPN. Up first is the Warriors and the Spurs. Hopefully Steph is feeling a little more like his old self and if so they should beat the Spurs easily.

Then you have the Nuggets and Clippers. This should be a good game. I tend to think the Nuggets have the advantage but you never know what roster the Clippers will be throwing out there.
