Lakers seem to be getting desperate but still unwilling to make any major moves with their roster. The latest word is that they intend to workout DeMarcus Cousins next week for a possible roster spot. Cousins hasn’t been the same since his injuries, but I’m sure he can still be a productive piece. I’m not sure he’s championship caliber these days, so I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not. It’s definitely not enough to get LeBron to the Finals.

Really looking forward to the Brooklyn Nets vs New Orleans Pelicans game tonight on ESPN. A shame that Zion won’t be playing, but we should still get a look at Durant and Kyrie who I feel haven’t gotten many nationally televised games this year. If Zion was also playing I think this would be my favorite game of the year to watch so far. It should still be worth the watch though, but I think without Zion the Nets should be able to take this one.

Good thing you didn't watch the game but it turns out it was just a boring game. Honestly, I didn't expect that the Mavericks will lose by blowout in that game, they were playing very well at home, so I was expecting that they will at least make it tougher for the Celtics to beat them.

And isn't it in their home court? so fans are disappointed for sure to see their team lost his big as if there was no energy on the Mavs itself. And this is what we are talking earlier that when Luka doesn't get any help, their team will be doom.

So for him to score in 23 points is not that much for team to win the game. And so we go back as who will actually need to step and help him out specially in crucial games down the line.

They've face the best team in the East, although Celtics have been very inconsistent lately, they are still very good team and so I'm not surprised that they have win the game against the Mavs even at their homecourt.

They have the best defense in the league if I'm not mistaken, and they were able to cover Luka from the first quarter and didn't allow him to take over.

Tatum too has a quite but very impressive night.

Mavs are building a great team around Doncic, many people disagree with that but they are slowly getting there if you ask me. Wood and Dinwiddie are great players. If you could put Dinwiddie at PG (he can play SG too) and Doncic at SG, and Wood at Center, that means they just need some better defense and scoring at 3 and 4.

They could get someone like Tatum and would be a title contender instantly, and yeah they won't be getting anyone that good, but being one great player away from title is still a good level to be in. So far Celtics has a better team all around, and Tatum is a superstar as well, they are going to be a great East team for another 5-6 years if they can keep the core team running.

The next All-Star NBA game this 2023 season is right around the corner, and regarding the updated voting I think Lebron James and Kevin Durant was still the favorite to be captains of the team, and their guards for the West is Stephen Curry, and for the East is Kyrie Irving, surely enough I am excited about who's going to be MVP again, I have seen that Russell Westbrick was on the list and many are complaining about Austin Reaves getting on the list aswell, which is I really think seems OK and surely Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have made it while he is extremely great at playing at the Oklahoma City Thunder,

It's unexpected to see Westbrook on this list, considering that he performs pretty mediocre, and it's even funny that he already has more votes than Leonard, Lillard, and Booker. By the way, it's also surprising that Davis already has over 2 million votes. Don't get me wrong, Davis deserves to be in the All-star game, but the problem is that he's still injured, and there's no exact timeline for his return. So I wouldn't be surprised if Davis misses the upcoming All-star game.

I'm still trying to understand Clippers as an ORG as this team is playing great basketball sometimes and the other times , they are considering basketball a joke...and if I remember well and I do , Clippers was the most hyped team some years ago right ? look what this hype made to them a few years later...

I think it was like 2019 when the Clippers were hyped by the media and other NBA fans because that is the year Kawhi Leonard joined the team. Understandable because he already made a name for himself by joining the Spurs in 2011 and was like one of the hottest players during the 2016 - 2017 season. Unfortunately though, he cannot really carry the Clippers all by himself. Pair him up with Paul George, another dude who's really prone to injury and you'll really have some problems.

What happened with Luka last night ? I think nothing happened with him personally as he was still the best man of Mavs but yet , none of this team mates managed to help him score or even assist him in scoring and Celtics immediately took advantage of this situation and managed to put 29 points in front by the end of the game which is kinda crazy considering Mavs had a pretty decent winning streak... . Tatum is for sure an MVP candidate after another spectacular performance from his side.

It seems like the Clippers are always injured like the Lakers. Kawhi and Paul George sit out quite a bit. Maybe it's an LA thing?

Maybe not just an LA thing. Kawhi and Paul George are both injury-prone throughout their whole career. Just think of them like glass cannons that are only good for a couple of games and then they have to take an extended rest in order to get back in shape unlike other players.

I would like to see teams implement a couple new rules such as must play x amount of games or lose a certain % of your contract for the year.

Same thing with sitting out games. On ly allow so many before they start being penalized.

I believe this might make players focus more on their bodies and conditioning.

All star voting is a complete joke.  Austin reeves as an all star lol.  And on the east Derrick rose doesn't even play!! (And I'm a knicks fan).  Sometimes it's more just big market voting since there is mass in numbers of fans.  All star game is fun to watch in the 4th quarter but before then it's a little meh anyway.  Every year professional sports all star games get worse and worse.

The Clippers gambled a lot just to satisfy his demands including his rumored residence that is far from Los Angeles which result in some of their delayed travels, etc. Although he was probably worth it that time, Clippers' management doesn't care if Kawhi would play or not or if he plays with limited minutes because they just want to see him healthy during the playoffs.

Now, Clippers is becoming like a joke of an organization. Kawhi seems like he is not in his prime anymore. Maybe they can still reach the playoffs but what they are showing these days are not enough to go deeper.

Probably when they acquire Kawhi the expectations is that he will bring them to the championship level together with Paul George. But the history of injuries  between this 2 players though, they can't even be healthy for one full season as a tandem.

Although they are winning games without either of the two, they can't be like this as a team, I guess it's time for Ballmer to look at this team right now and maybe make a bold move again.

I don't have a specific reason for the performance of Mavs but these things happen in the regular season. Maybe they were just too tired or just not on their good day. Also Celtics surprise me sometimes by how good they are. Unreasonably, I don't expect them to be too good and they usually are. Like how they got to the finals last year. Maybe Mavs were just having a bad day or Celtics were too good. It doesn't mean that things will be same in the playoffs.

I believed that Luka can surpassed many of Lebron records at a young age, but we all know that the true gauge for greatness if how many rings you can have in your hand and so far, LUka has a long way to go to get even one at this point.

He is still very young and very promising. He can bring a championship to a team if that team can surround him with the right players. I think if he is after a ring, he should get out of Mavericks. Mavs took 20 years before they can surround Dirk with the right players to get a championship. If he wants to chase rings, he should go to teams that know how to surround their stars with the right players and have a good coach. I am thinking of Celtics, but that is currently very stacked right now. Maybe, San Antonio Spurs. The team needs a superstar right now and Pop could coach Doncic very well.

That win against the heat is promising though. They won without 2 of their stars. But, you are right. The Lakers should start making a move to acquire the player/s they need to support Lebron and AD. With the current squad, we can say that they are not good competitors for the title chase, there are lot of super teams in the west
and even they manage to go for the play-in,

the chance to move forward and win a good spot for the playoff is tough for them, without AD the winning chance of Lakers

Good point, both stars can play ball but if they are not healthy in the entire season, the team adjustments are really tough, if the management will take their move, it' better to deal it now while those stars still have good value.

Better to send them to a team that have a championship caliber not to waste the talent and ask
for future draft together with a another star type trade.

There is no other option now, they have some good players to trade but the problem is almost all the teams in the league have good chemistry with their players, so what the Lakers will be getting back might be banged up players, AD issue with injuries wont get them this far if he will continue to get injured, on and off playing will hurt the rotation, this might be the problem that the Lakers haven't figured out yet, or maybe they are just waiting for a move from other teams, if they make it to the playoffs this year without AD they will just making LeBron retired earlier because he will carry more loads for sure.

Yes, I doubt that teams will going to implement this to their superstars, they will have to protect them at all cost, after all they invested on this stars with huge contracts already.

There could be a lot of incentives to be included for a new contract, like Zion's maintaining his body to a certain weight so that he can play more or teams going to the playoffs or finals will get more money.

He was check early, so he doesn't have the usual game that he had in the last couple of games or so. And as we all know now in the NBA, 40 points in the new 20, so if Luka scored 20 points then it won't help the team that much and still he needed another started to be consistent as well.

Poor Clippers, like the Lakers there are a lot of hype on them when they got Kawhi and then Paul George. But so far the investments are not returning. Both of there superstars are always injured.

A very bad loss for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Chicago Bulls.
That's how bad it gets whenever Joel Embiid is out. They got close to 8 points deficit but Zach LaVine didn't let them get too near. 41 points for Zach and it came mostly from his 11/13 three-point shooting. Wow!

Would very much love to see that happen.
Players today especially the stars will sit out most of the games when they are back-to-back. Why not implement a new contract that would lessen the games played but also lessen their pay? Show them the season schedule and point out the games they will sit, cut it to their salaries.
They will be paid for injuries because those are accidents.
