Then dominated the whole overtime and snatch the win away from the Bulls.

Absolutely a monster, he found his zone and the Bulls didn't expect that. They chased a 21-point lead and flipped the game.

Yeah, it was a very special game for Mitchell, considering that such a performance might only happen once or twice in a player's career. By the way, the epic thing about Mitchell's performance is that he started the game pretty mediocre, as he only scored 5 points in the first quarter. However, it looks like the Mamba mentality has taken him over after that, and Mitchell became unstoppable, especially in the second half and overtime.

A mamba mentality which leads him not to shy out in taking those shots after that low start in the first quarter, good thing with him is he really takes shots and his teammate is allowing him.

71 points and with how he turned things out, snatching the game against the bulls, really sweet
for both fans and those gamblers who entrust their bets for the Cavs, Bulls almost take this but
that 71 points from Mitchell, especially during overtime, is really big.

Surely, we haven't got any thought about Nash's lack of experience as a head coach because we're too focused to the three drama queen that has been making headlines ever since they teamed up, after all, it was just Nash who can't control the superstars in his stable that he was once under his watch. I'm just glad that the Nets management managed to have the correct choice and keeping Durant in-exchange of freeing Nash. Made some sense why KD has been quite after firing Nash.

I still think Steve Nash is a good coach, maybe the Nets is not for him with veterans all over their roster. If given one more chance to lead a young team he will surely learn more on how to keep everything under control and maybe that will also add to his experience on how to manage them.
KD and Kyrie, two stars, veterans in the league, they want a respected coach or someone who will just stay silent if they both want the game to be in their shoulders when it's needed.
No play required, just give them the ball.

Seems that way, I don't mean at all that Steve Nash cannot handle any team in the league now especially that he already got the experience. It's just that Brooklyn Nets is too much for him too handle, last season, he held 3 superstars (Harden included before he was traded) that are hard to control because everyone single one of the stars he handled had some issues and there's this Covid-19 too that kept on hitting the roster.

I agree that he should be given a 2nd chance but this time, a much younger team. But that's a tough challenge now because he's now painted as a bad image because the Nets is now straight as an arrow since he was removed.

These days it keeps getting unpredictable on who's gonna win the NBA championship, and, when the playoffs come that's when the most unpredictable thing happens.

I do not know where you are basing that comment, but GSW still looks solid even with their poor start this season. They are 19-18, which is above 500. They are currently on a 4 winning streak and 5-5 on their last 10. All that was done without Curry and Wiggins. They are currently ranked #9 which is still okay since they still have 45 games to play. Last year, I think, they finished 5th in the West and were still able to take home the Championship. As long as they are able to get into the playoffs, they still have a good chance of winning the chip. They are a different beast in the playoffs, especially if they are all healthy.

As always, Warriors are a late bloomer kind of team who struggles every start of the season but when they are already heated, they will start to bully the teams particularly if they are all healthy, even if one of them are injured, they are still pretty impressive because they will always step up to defend their team from the vulnerability. They just don't care about the bracketing because they know the real score, the important thing for them is to get a safe seat to the playoffs even if that means that they will just sit at the 5th or 6th seed.

The team now that looks poor is definitely Phoenix Suns, the team won't go anywhere without Booker. CP3 is not as good if there's no Booker.

I guess that  performance was a statement against the Jazz, that he's out there playing the best of his career with the Cavs, where he actually fits better. And indeed that is a mamba mentality right there. Not afraid of stepping up to help his team win and recover from a huge deficit.
I've read an article in the social media, stating that Kyrie knew something is up with Mitchell, coz they both were playing call of duty, before the game and Kyrie said "he's focused and locked in". I personally think that game actually helps to keep him focused.

Well, it's just my opinion and I think that's how I feel about the team right now, it starts with the Green-Poole altercation and I don't think they can make it till the end. They did lose a couple of role players, and Green is getting old for his role, so there’s that. They’ve looked great at home though. I believe they have the best home record in the NBA. They’ve just been awful on the road. It’s hard to explain why they could be so good at home and so poor on the road, but if they get that figured out then I think they’ll be in a position to do some damage in the playoffs. That is if Steph comes back.

They never gave up until the last drop of a second in the regulation.
I have my bet for them (Cavs -3.5) at that time and I had given up that they will win or cover the spread but they didn't and thankfully my bet still won. 
It was one of the performances that I have been looking for with other teams. As long as there is time, try and win the game, don't settle just because the calculated time says so. The Cavs played defense quite impressive and then take the foul if they cannot steal it until they reach a tie for overtime.

Agree. If I'm not mistaken Cavaliers are down as much as 20+ points in that game but the patience to make a rally applies.

In today's NBA, a certain team is really not considered safe or on the verge of winning a game even up with huge points.

22/34 FG is an impressive stat. We can't just say that his 71 points is made in a force attempt but rather pure skills.

He's the only player in NBA history who got a 70-point 10 assists in a single game.

On that night, 5 players exploded including Thompson, DeRozan, LeBron and Embiid. I believe that this trend will just continue until the end of the regular season. Players will just explode for more than 40+ points. The league right now is more focused on the offensive side thus, teams right now are scoring way higher than where it was years ago. Anyway, Mitchell for MVP?? What do you think?

Bad news for the Pelicans. Adrian Wojnarowski (Woj) is reporting that Zion has strained his hamstring and will miss several weeks of action while he recovers. Not great for the Pelicans that have been one of the best teams in the league this year, but hopefully they can get healthy and stay that way for the playoffs. Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson have barely had a chance to play together this year.

I think the injury is not that bad and he could go back and recover from it, the problem though with this kind of hamstring injury is that it will reoccur in the future, just like what we have seen in Harden while he was with Houston and then with the Nets, it's not a career threatening but sometimes it will frustrate you having his kind of injuries.

No, I don't think so. Not because he is not good but because the offense is divided well in the Cavaliers' roster. When Garland is back the minutes for them are divided again. It's cool because it's avoiding injuries as stars are well rested and it creates a bigger chemistry for them to trust their teammates to be able to win their games.
That's the goal, a complete championship roster until the playoffs and the Finals. They are not about stats in that team, very unselfish plays.

And Ingram is not yet positive to be back in a week or more. This means more minutes for McCollum and Valanciunas, they may be able to defeat a weak team but their schedule doesn't look pretty. After the Rockets, they will be against the Nets, Mavs, Wizards, and Celtics. Ouch.

In terms of career high double-double, no doubt that Donovan Mitchell owned that record now. 70 points with 10 assists in a single is not an easy job to pull off because the league now is getting more intense and crazier. But him for MVP, he definitely got a chance, but he still needed to at least join the Top 10 before we could start discussing it.

Just now, Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 55 points with 10 rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks defeats the Washington Wizards. And for the Celtics, they were defeated by the undermanned OKC with a 33 points deficit. The Celtics started 2023 with a loss against the Nuggets and now they are defeated again, don't know what happened to them but it really looks like they were played by the OKC.

Yes, it will be a hard task for McCollum to lead the team and bring a W without the help of Zion. Brandon Ingram's return is still unknown as there's no timetable laid about him and Zion might be the first one who will recover first before him. But I guess the Pelicans can still handle their situation impressively even without their 2 stars, it's just a few weeks though, they won't be falling that steep as Zion and him managed to get the team at the top before the injury happened.

I don't know what is the basis why they needed to drug test Donovan Mitchell, is it just because he managed to put a 70 points in a game? That's unreasonable. Luka Magic put up 60+ but they were silent. I guess 70+ is where they drew the line to get a player tested for drugs. Just kidding! Mitchell is a great player, NBA should test someone if that's an ordinary player who suddenly achieved a 50+ career high.

Well, maybe he is just basing his understanding on the current standings, and right now the Golden State Warriors was on rank 9 in the West, and yes it is not a bad position to be in now that the season is just starting, for me the Warriors are doing great right now with the tandem of Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson they are reining supreme with those deep 3 shots, but the 1 thing that I am disturbed about the way the Golden State Warrior is playing away, surely they are playing great at home, and it was a remarkable play for Klay Thompson against the Hawks when the game goes beyond an OT, it was surely remarkable to watch, Klay is doing offense and defense at the same time, I think for this play he will likely be the one in charge with the away games,

Zion Williamson for the Pelicans will be crucial because we have seen he can carry a team even without Brandon Ingram but of course it will still be better if he is healthy.
Nuggets without Jokic will not be a Nuggets team anymore. Luka Doncic too but last year they somehow made it work with Brunson, but he is a Knick now and I doubt Dinwiddie can carry the load.
Memphis Grizzlies without Ja Morant can also work it out and it was proved this season when he was resting for his knee injury, iirc.

But what if Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are both injured Williamson has a hamstring and may come back on January 29, and Brandon Ingram injured his Toe and may return on January 11 this is a big loss of players for the New Orleans Pelicans right now without these two players I think they will surely struggle a lot,

With Nuggets if the joker can not play that will be a problem for the Nuggets, but for now, they are still playing with him, and has good health right now,

While Ja "Almost" Morant I think the Grizzlies will play properly even without him I think Dillon "Dynasty" Brooks and Desmond Bane can make a good combination without Morant,

I also don't suspect that he has taking any enhancing drugs for that matter. We have seen him scoring even when he was still in Utah, maybe he just woke up on the right side of the bed and just decided to take over that game and win it for them.

And now it's Giannis turn to have a 50 point game performance, Klay had one as well. And so as we have discussed, this season is going to be a special one with this kind of scoring and specially if Lebron will break Jabbar's record it will be the ultimate scoring record.
