Regard to LeBron James, he continues to play, most of the games he manages to have a good score, in others not so much, unfortunately he cannot carry the team on his shoulders as he did before, and it is clear that he needs help, especially AD to get the Lakers to the playoffs and perform well in this stage of the competition!

Lebron is not the main man anymore. Though he can still contribute to the offense, he is not that much anymore in defense. He is not as intense as he was when he was in Miami or in Cleveland. AD is the main man of the Lakers right now but his availability to play prohibits him to carry the team. IF Lebron is not bringing too much income to the Lakers organization, I think he will be out already. Let's see how far the current roster will take them and how long the Lakers will stick to AD and Lebron if they do not bring success to the Lakers.

No doubt about that, I mean, the only reason why the Lakers is letting LeBron James stay is because of the fact that he can attract viewers that benefits the organization especially if they are playing at home. Aside from that? Nothing anymore, his points is sure big almost every game but that's not what the team needed because those points will be pointless if they are also vulnerable at defense as that is not the basis to keep the team afloat mainly now that Davis is not around to help the team.

What do you expect. A 38-year-old player that still the main offense of the team?

Yes, he's been an all-star all throughout his career and he also gave all of the team he went a title in the past but like others, he's only a human and his body also weakens overtime. At 38 years old, we consider a player already past his prime, but Lebron is different (well kinda). He is still averaging 27 PPG still and with his age, that's already a huge contribution to the team. His defense? Well, at his age, he's stamina is relatively low as well, but the surprising thing is that he still plays 36 MPG.

Right now, the Lakers has no main man. AD? I can't consider him as a main man because just look where he is "AGAIN". A foot injury that will let him sit until February. It can't be Westbrook also. Now the Lakers are in a 4-game losing streak. I know that there are still many Lebron fans here but...it's pretty obvious that he can't carry a team anymore or not at least if he has all-star players on his team. The Lakers will not enter the playoffs this season "AGAIN".

Did you notice that there are only 2 officials in the Portland Trail Blazers versus Charlotte Hornets game?
I think this is the first time I saw that or maybe I don't remember a time I did see this event happening as I am not curious yet about these delicate details.

As a viewer, this scares me for players can use holes to avoid being called for a charge, traveling, or other technicalities because there's a blind spot on the other side of the court.
Here is the information on referees assigned for the whole night. I marked the one I am talking about in red.

Have any of you experienced this or seen this?

I don't know. But I believe LeBron James is still the Lakers best player.

One factor that I think is relevant is that, he is not as enthusiastic with the team, like beforehe, day after day it seems that the level of the Lakers is decreasing and I believe that this is putting LJ down.

AD is greatly missed, and I have no doubts about that. An interesting point is that, if LeBron James suffers an injury, the Lakers still have a player who can replace him (in the worst case, adapting, maybe Westbrook, Walker, Reaves, Beverley and others). Now if AD gets injured and needs to stay out (and this is happening), unfortunately the Lakers don't have a player that can replace him, because he is an extremely high quality PF/C and an excellent defensive player, and the reserves or others Lakers players are unable to resolve their foul.

It's not as surprising anymore when you don't hustle as hard on defense and spend most time in the court on offense. Some would even argue that he continues to play a lot of minutes for stats padding in order to catch or surpass Kareem's all-time NBA leading scorer record.

Without Davis, I doubt LeBron will single carry the team unless he will let his teammates to play on their own and he will be the one
that will adjust, let the kids play and go along with the direction they want.

Until now, it seems that his teammates are intimidated when he's inside the court, though the lineup is far from other west competitors
without Davis, the chance is really slim to move forward even in the play-in.

No offense with LeBron fans, he can still provide the numbers, but like what you said, it is pointless if they will continue to lose the game.

True, Lebron is an exceptional player but he is not as good as the greats that could consistently lead a championship. MJ will always be the GOAT, next to him is Kobe Bryant, then probably Lebron will sit in the 3rd rank. Though in terms of stats, I think Lebron has a better stats since he is still active until now and he can still break all time records if he remains active for years.

That's a bad argument, he ain't like WB. Lebron's work ethic is the one we are witnessing now and I loved that player because of that. Don't get me wrong, I am not a big fan of him but his work ethic is something amazing that even his haters should consider. It's not like he is lazy, he rarely misses games, and he took care of his body at a rate that he could still play like he is not that far from his prime.

He will surpass Kareem, there's no doubt about that but stat padding is not on his bucket list. I just don't see it.
About defense, well he had a history of being bad at it even when he was young.

About defense, well he had a history of being bad at it even when he was young.

He is not Westbrook, so he will not do that... What Lebron wants now is to win another championship as he is already fulfilled with his individual records, but on the discussions of the greats, winning a championship is his best weapon to be considered as close to the greatest.

Breaking records and been famous is the whole game, it's the ultimate target for big stars in NBA to keep winning and lifting trophies during their space. Lebron is nothing like any player, he already achieve alot over the past years and he will keep winning. He's such an incredible player for young lads coming up to imitate, he is one of the disputed basket ball player with numerous trophies to his archive. Winning another championship would be worth celebrating for Lebron.

It's a big question now if Lebron can still win a championship before he will officially retires. He is not getting any younger, he only have few years in the NBA, so this current roster should give him another championship, however, if Davis will not remain healthy, that will be a big problem in achieving that goal.

LeBron James is the oldest player to record 3 consecutive games with 30+ points since Michael Jordan (2002).

About defense, well he had a history of being bad at it even when he was young.
There's merit in their argument. I can't remember what game it was but there's still enough time to catch up. He already scored around 30 at that point but he sat out the rest of the fourth quarter. Kelvinid already said it's unlikely that he'll get another championship at his age and with his current teammates so the more realistic goal is getting that record. He may not have said it publicly yet but it's most likely in his mind.

LeBron James is the oldest player to record 3 consecutive games with 30+ points since Michael Jordan (2002).

Okay I get it, but isn't that so significant? Actually, fans would appreciate or notice it if the Lakers are winning. Nowadays, it's easy to drop 30+ points compared in the past, and since Lebron's team are struggling, so that's what people sees more, not his personal achievement on stats.

Lebron playing good, not Lebron fault that Davis is injured, and GM didnt put good shooter around him.

Ja Morant though, now becoming so brandish, but as you can see, they haven't proven anything yet and now he says in an interview that he is "fine" in the West, LMAO. They shouldn't talk trash when they can't back it up specially against the depending champion.
He is good because of his athleticism but he does not have the championship DNA like Curry and Thompson. He is still young though, there's plenty of time for him to prove that he should belong to the greatest players in the NBA once he retires, and until that time will happen, maybe he should not take too much, instead, do it in action and help improve his team, not himself alone.

Too early to say that he doesn't have the will to be a champion. Curry took at least 6 years before he earned his fame and the Warriors are lucky to have Klay, Draymond and Steph on the same team.
I know Ja receives a lot of hate because of his cockiness, but let's be honest here, the kid has talent and has the potential to lead a team to a championship, he just needs the time to mature his game. During this early phase of his career, he needs to establish a good brand to his name, and now that he earned it, I believe he'll level up his game to become a champion.

As the saying goes, "there's no shortcut to success" .. I know that there are some players who are born to be a champion and do have a genetic that we called championship DNA. But there are also some players who took their time to reach the peak of success just like Curry. The likes of LeBron, Jordan and Kobe are different because ever since their debut, they are already dominating the hardwood.

Ja Morant do have some talent and I know he do know that fact but he is not yet there. Someday, we will see him what he is like on the peak of his prime and by that time, surely he will carry the whole team on his back. Although, from what I observed, his performance will likely get him some serious injuries.

Given the Lakers current situation, it is real hard to say that they will get a chance to be the champions this year or he can add a Finals trophy before he hangs his jersey. Even playoffs participation is not yet determined because of their struggles, what more in the Finals. The roster they have now is good, but not as good as the top teams now where offensive and defensive capabilities are well mastered.

If they trade Westrbook, got some good shooters as Bojan Bogdanovic, and Davis healthy, they can take title.

The Nets are starting to look like they’re firing on all cylinders. They’ve quietly won 9 straight with Kyrie and KD both scoring more than 30 in their last outing. KD looked a little frustrated at times yelling at teammates, but maybe that’s what they need out of him as a leader because whatever they’ve started doing seems to be working. They’re now the #3 team in the East and looking good.

Yep, LeBron isn't getting younger, given that he will be 38 years old in a couple of days. By the way, if you check his stats, you'll see he has scored over 30 points in 7 games in a row. So it seems like age doesn't matter to him because he still performs phenomenally.
However, the problem is that the current Lakers roster is very weak, and it's unlikely that teammates can help LeBron win another title. As I see it, the Lakers might be able to contend for the title only in the next season. Of course, that will only be possible if the Lakers manage to improve their roster significantly during the offseason.
