So tell me why should I spend so much for a plastic Trezor - sorry, but I simply do not see any advantage than 'it's new' and collectors may pay 1.x BTC in the future.
Maybe it would be useful while you travel knowing you can plug it into someones computer, log onto blockchain.info and safely use your BTC. Offline wallets aren't for everyone and not everyone can affort two computers.

but, but,... the trezor is a computer. Does not compute.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Therefore it is indeed useful.
Currently I'm just not used to spend huge amounts in BTC while I'm traveling.
And as nerd my Laptop is part of my body, so more or less always available  Cheesy

Get me right, I'd buy this nice, innovative piece of hw immediately as soon as it's heading for the mass market with cheaper price, until then it is not worth the coins for *me* as I'm using offline wallets for big amounts. Beside this I do neither want to spend huge amounts of btc (prefer holding them), nor do I need access to them while I'm away.

With a Trezor I'd still stick to offline wallets as they cannot be lost, nor stolen in crowded situations like public transport at rush hour.
Just keep in mind with more public awareness, your Trezor might attract criminals.

..and Thou shalt spread the coin in the name of cryptography for eternity

October is comming to an end in 4 days, anyone received their Trezor yet? i am talking about the Metallic Batch.
please make a unboxing video,demo of it if you can.  Smiley

Trezor should seriously consider changing they device "pricing" to USD/Euros instead of keeping it at 1BTC or 3 BTC,
if and only if they want to sell more of their device because the value of BTC just rocket up to 200$ each.
This is now officially overprice at 3btc value at 200$ each. total = $600

right now there is no competition for Trezor so they dont feel pressure but i am very sure in the future Trezor would meet their rival. better, safer, more reasonable pricing, easier to use.

i just dont feel like this is worth the money right now, there are other methods we can do for the cheap.

I agree, I wanna buy one but the price is currently ridiculous.

Will get one when you can get it for a reasonable price

I'm pretty sure they haven't shipping anything yet, if they did, we would know about it. I understand that they are being quiet and don't want to be like BFL (two more weeks), but any news would be better than radio silence at this point.

Announcement is up at Trezor website now:

TREZOR Delivery Update
Prague, Czech Republic, Oct. 28, 2013

Developing a first-of-its-kind hardware brought more challenges than expected and some of you might have already noticed that we have postponed our estimated TREZOR to January.

The fact that we are discussing most of our technical decisions with many bitcoin and hardware developers has brought valuable feedback but also caused some delays. Thanks to the community cooperation the scope of the project has enlarged significantly and our pace of work slowed down, but for a good purpose, we believe.

Just to mention a few new developments that we have done on top of the basic hardware and software work on TREZOR:
* improved and safer paper backup;
* an entirely new way of secure PIN entering;
* deterministic signatures which add extra security to TREZOR transactions;
* compatibility with web wallets.

  Undecided

not any more they changed it into 2014 Jan. for both of them. you can check out their website.they just updated today.my 2 cents tells me that if u havnt order 1 yet just wait for the others to come out and then you can compare and contrast the hardware bitcoin wallet that is available.

by 2014 there would be better hardware wallet that is cheaper or same, so we can get more for our dollars.

Probably no. They are refining it so it's more perfect. Honestly a few months won't make a difference unlike a miner.

Is this from the PIN discussion at OHM?

Yes. We agreed that we need to come up with a way how to securely enter PIN on a compromised computer and we did so. :-)

As explained on previous page of this very thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=122438.msg3328423#msg3328423), I assume.

But the hardware is ready, yes?

So please send them right away. I didn't expect to trust it with larger amount for a few weeks anyway.

If you choose not to honor promised delivery dates, how will the delivery schedule look like?
That is, if metal and plastic will be delivered at the same time, I'd rather take three plastic ones instead of the metal one for which earlier delivery was promised.
