100 witnesses would require too much much work for an individual to investigate about each witness and determinate if he can be trusted or not.

the more witnesses - the slower the network, the speed of the txs is the main reason to build the network with (limited amount of) trusted nodes/witnesses

If we have fast CPU or network connection, is that a problem. I heard Dash has many more than 12 nodes (witness?)

Yes, unlimited amount of masternodes  Smiley

But I'm sure Byteball is much faster than Dash, I mean theoretical limits of the underlying technology.
We could ask the dev about the matter to get the answer from the most authoritative source

It seems like It's mostly affected by the FUD around BTC and 1st August. Most people want more fiat in hand to buy back into the markets incase there are serious dips around that date. my 2sats.

I don't think what you said is true. Bitcoin is at a pretty high price, which is maybe 10-15% off its high, but byteball is at less than 50% of its high, something not right...

Well for some reason this thread says I can't guote so to sum up my problem my previous post

quote

on byteball

where it this litewallet you speak of ..I can only find the 64 bit windows 10 version? on the OP page

link please?

(also weird ..this is the only thread I can't quote from on all my years/threads on bitcointalk....even after doing watch/unwatch reboot)

(me thinks byteball hates me) Sad

As an aside this same machine can get a fresh install of bitcoin core and litecoin core in 9 days...still sucks but better then the 3 weeks I've
been trying to get this to work

v1.9.3

anyway just need the litewallet link

unquote

I was told that unless I want to lose my byteballs I now have to finish this synch on the full wallet I installed before I can move stuff to a lite wallet on another machine
in that it is now synching at LESS THAN ONE DAY that likely is not gonna happen

So is there someone in power tech wise with byteball I can send my problem to

otherwise I see nothing but 'limbo' in my future

thanks

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Why did the price fall so much?
Why did the price go up so much? Many altcoins went up 2000% and more, and many altcoins dropped 50-70% from their high. Obviously something that goes up so fast can go down fast too.
And of course there's the possibility of a "pump and dump", or even "dump and pump", all meant to get your coins cheaper. Convince people to panic sell before it rises again. The cryptomarket is highly manipulated.

Last airdrop, selling right before and buying back right after the airdrop would have gotten you 50% more, while holding your bytes "only" got 20% more. That means many people speculated to profit from the 20% airdrop, which failed for them. My guess is people now speculate "the other way": sell before the airdrop hoping to profit more than the 20%.
Since I've never seen this airdrop model before, I am eager to see how it turns out each month.

It does hurt though, having double the amount of bytes compared to last month, but it's worth less. Makes me feel like holding was a bad choice at that moment, but as always you can only know those things afterwards.
On the other hand: the people who are holding for 7 months now have seen their Bytes increase many times.

It's funny how every single thread in this forum is literally spammed with "omg, why did price fall so much?". Are people really not seeing the exchanges ?

Let's see this wise man. So BB is 50% off it's high, aha, ever heard about ethereum ? yes ? well, it's also 50% off it's high.
#3 ever saw Ripple ? it's 72% off it's high
#6 dash ? 37% off it's high.
#11 stratis ? 63% off it's high

Are you people really this dumb or just want to decrease the price further with this FUD ?

I just recently back into cryptocoins and missed all 7 rounds of distributions  Cry
now I want to participate in the 8th round, and have questions about the wallet
quoted from the first post,
Quote
Desktop wallets can be full nodes (will take a while syncing with the network after the first start) or light nodes.  Mobile wallets are always light clients.
- which one I should download to get started?
- what are the dis/advantages of being a full node... over a light node... over light client
- if I choose desktop wallet as light node, do I still need to sync up? how big of data?
thanks

Probably both factors are overlapping:
The last 3 months the Byteball price was so leveled that by the end of the distribution, Byteball will be ranked at place 8 til 10 in the market cap.
The current price of 420 $ or 153 millions market cap corresponds to 153 m / 0.36 = 425 m (0.36 -> 36% were distributed) market cap after finish of the distribution -> place 12

So, I would argue that Byteball is currently undervalued, but the market makes the price Smiley .
But why this price? -> The majority of the basic strategies for profit optimization in current situations requires the maximization of the BTC.
(..disadvantage of the altcoins)

Holder strategy
Hold BTC (BTC are linked to BB-Distribution) -> receive BCC after split -> receive Bytes and Blackbytes -> Hold BTC + BCC + Bytes

Trader / Holder strategy mix (BTC + Byteball fan)
Sell Alt's (i.e. Byteball) -> aggregate BTC -> wait till BTC fork-> dump BCC -> by BTC -> link BTC to Byteball -> Hold  Bytes /Blackbytes + BTC
Trader / Holder strategy mix (altcoins fan)
Sell Alt's (i.e. Byteball) -> aggregate BTC -> wait till BTC fork- -> dump BTC -> Hold BCC and by Bytes before next BB-distribution round (link the Bytes to receive also Blackbytes) -> Hold BCC + Bytes /Blackbytes
Trader strategy  (hardcore trader A)
Sell Alt's (i.e. Byteball) -> aggregate BTC -> wait till BTC fork- -> dump BTC + BCC -> buy Bytes before next BB-distribution round  and receive +20% (link the Bytes to receive also Blackbytes) -> Hold Bytes /Blackbytes for +20%...
Trader strategy  (hardcore trader B)
Sell Alt's (i.e. Byteball) -> aggregate BTC -> wait till BTC price is max -> dump BTC bevor fork -> wait for BTC + BCC / altcoin Crash -> buy Bytes before next BB-distribution round  and receive +20% (link the Bytes to receive also Blackbytes)

Personally, I see the BTC split (in its effect for BTC) like an airdrop.
It will have the same effects as we saw this in the previous rounds at Byteball distribution... Wink

Tony will not comment, I think -
this would contradict his principles
Tony makes no comparisons, no hypotheses, and does not make any marketing promises.
He can not do this because he is, of course, biased or not objective (Speculation is allowed to everyone but not to the Creator).
He is (or was) more or less a scientist (Scientists are disgusted with marketing and any kind of non-objectivity).
In this context, silence is the highest (and hardest) art.
Byteball is what it is, the rest you have to fill with your own knowledge / imagination.
However, the topic of performance has already been dealt with generally:

It means people want to have as much BTC as possible so they can be first in line to dump BCC. I just hope it will not go below 1$ in the first 10 minutes, otherwise it was all for nothing but I'm pretty sure it will collapse very fast, just imagine if 100k BCC will be dumped, that will collapse the price to <1$. (I imagine 90%+ of all BCC will be sold, so in the ballpark of 15million but there won't be enough buy orders to dump into)

no idea why you thinking like that, this mean people want free money, after they get their BCC it will be a huge dump for BCC, dont worry byte price will recover
