Moving the wallet to another system.
Which files and folders should I backup?
Running newest version.

If you're using windows operating system. Go to C: > Users > *Your Computer Name* > AppData > Local Copy/backup the entire byteball directory and put it at the same location. If you do this you will lose all the blackbytes. The correct way is to make multisig wallet (2-1) and move all bytes and blackbytes to new address of this wallet. Yes, this is the best way, but woudn't the other way also have to work? I remember to have read that there is a wat to backup also the blackbytes.... Can you not take a full data back up from the existing wallet and restore from it in the new system? ( Given you dont run the wallet on the old system anymore) |

Was hoping someone could help me figure out how to send Bytes from my light wallet account to my Bittrex Account. I've send a few tests of 1GBYTE to Bittrex, my light wallet shows it in my history but days have gone by and nothing has happened. I still have my original balance on the wallet so haven't lost any bytes, but really want to get some into my trading account, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Are you sure you sent 1 GBB and not only 1 byte ? Son of a bitch, you're totally right and I'm a little embarrassed thank you for the assistance sir!! Haha, change the Unit for bytes/blackbytes in your wallet settings to GB/GBB to avoid this confusion in the future. It is much easier to transact since most exchanges trade GB (except for the chat bots in the wallet). OK, thanks for the help! |

Actually, you will not lose the blackbytes. They are stored in the sql file within that data directory. That said, you do NOT want to run that wallet on two different devices at the same time. - Setup a mutlisig wallet like xenon131 suggested.  Make backups. Lots of them. |

Is there anyone updated the wallet? I am not sure if I should backup the whole wallet first before update  I did update my wallet with no issues You should always take a backup before applying an update on the wallet Yes,That's important for everyone to take a backup before applying an update on the wallet. |

Noobish question but how does the exchange bot work? Say I want to buy some gbyte with bitcoin. How do i 'deposit' my bitcoin into the bot? I'm not used to decentralised exchanges and would like to understand more
Well I took the plunge and put an order using the exchange bot (byte-BTC). I'd like to know a bit more about the inner workings, if anyone can provide a link or something would appreciate. In any case, to use is quite simple you put in a buy order and then it gives you a bitcoin address to fund. I assume it is trustworthy? Once that receives two confirmations your order is added to the book. I'm not sure why there is a limit of 0.2 BTC ? Sometimes might be nice to go higher than that. There doesn't appear to be much volume or liquidity to speak of but hopefully that might improve in time. In general I think bytecoin could do with being available on a few bigger exchanges, are there any plans in that regard? You probably meant Byteball  There's no rush to go on bigger exchanges IMHO, once we get there (maybe when the distribution phase is over) this project might establish on the top 10 for good. By all means it's better to get there with all coins distributed so that the market can start playing the game. However, so far it seems to me that in terms of APPS/BOT/AI byteball is way before the competition. |

I can't clearly compare with Monero since I don't know it very well but I can explain a bit how blackbytes work. You can see blackbytes as bank notes which have their transactions history writted on them. You can see this transaction history only if you own them, there is no public ledger. That's mean that if you receive a payment in Blackbytes, your payer can't know what you will do next with the blackbytes he sent to you. He could know that only if the same blackbytes return in their hands which will become very unlikely if Byteball network becomes bigger. You can still protect yourself against this possibility by using a wallet dedicated to privacy, at start you just need to get some bytes anonymously to fund the Blackbytes transaction. If someone would discover the history of a blackbyte you used, it couldn't link it to anything since he can't see your other transactions made with blackbytes. In overall there is no way for anybody to get a picture of what's going on with blackbytes, all the transactions are kept private by every blackbyte user. If you want to try to find a flaw, you simply can't, cause you can't get the data. The novel system blackbytes use is an excellent compromise between privacy, transaction time and fees. If I would need ultra-privacy, I would simply hide behind a monero and a blackbyte transaction to get the best of two. |

Double-spend or duplicatio is avoided with a spend proof, I invite you to read the chapter 25 of the whitepaper to learn more about it. By the way you can see blackbytes have different denominations from 1 to 100000 blackbytes, like they were bank notes. |

Just use a multi devices wallet (it's very easy with Byteball), then private informations about blackbytes will be replicated on all your devices. In case you lose one device, the other ones serve as backup. |

i just realized, that it is not possible to register Segwit Adresses for the Airdrop? When will Segwit for Airdrops be implemented? That can't be to complicated....
Segwit has no protocol for signing messages so at this time it is not possible to do. |

i just realized, that it is not possible to register Segwit Adresses for the Airdrop? When will Segwit for Airdrops be implemented? That can't be to complicated....
SegWit addresses won't be supported: Since segwit has been activated on BTC I noticed that the transition bot doesn't work with the new segwit addresses.
If you try to use a segwit generated address you get this message "Only P2PKH addresses are supported".
Are there any plans to address this issue?
No such plans. Our developers' time is better spent on Byteball. |

Ummm, there is. Simply: Hamburger (three horizontal lines on top left) SETTINGS (global settings) - scroll to bottom Full backup That will allow you to make a full backup in a password protected file. didn't receive Black Bytes for bitcoin (received usual bytes, so transition is ok)
Contact me via PM or join the slack channel and ask publicly. There are many reasons for this and most are the users fault which can be quickly determined. |
