Already twenty years this is why we can say that bitcoins is going up and it's a good money. Moreover it proves that it's s safe money because it would be deleted if it was the cause of many problems.

Not exactly 20 years, it's more like 10 actually, but I agree that that's alot too. And I agree that surviving for such a long time proves Bitcoins feasibility. Bitcoin has not only survived but became more valued and much more popular during this time.

Looking back at Bitcoins hystory, at where it was in the beginning we can say that there is good reason to believe that in 20 years the price of it will be hundredfold greater than it is now.

Definitely true. We will more accomplish in 10 years more then in 20. Believe what can be done in next decade will influence financial market global. Bitcoin has already change so much that no one believed in. So this in good, but what will follow in next 10 years is only a question also can be good opportunity.

Being a bit realistic i do project bitcoin to be worthing around 2000 dollars, and some altcoins should die in the middle, i dont know how strong they are and what more they can bring and keep at crypto world besides the game of pump and dump.

When we think and talk about where Bitcoin will be in the next 2 or 3 years I would think that it will be big and the price will explode. In short, all positive thoughts. But when asked where it will be in 20 years my thoughts are negative mostly. My first concern is the mining. Would it be possible for the miners to keep increasing the wasting of energy for as long as 20 years?

Reactive in economic theory : more important value of the limitations of an item, whatever the system load is to be prepared will be performed. Not going to be complicated due to technological developments always perform optimizations to ease the burden of capital and energy. I do not quite understand what you are saying. The last sentence tells me that you think Bitcoin might still be around in 20 years? If by then it still lives then the price should be very high. To what benefit would it be to mine something worthless if Bitcoin still stays at these prices. The cost of mining will be too high if you consider the halvings we will go thru and the difficulty rise in a 20 year period.

Yeah about that time we are old enough to think about it, 20 years is so long and many things can happen in crypto world. every year is a good progress for btc since the year it was launch and i know that it will continue to grow each year.

yes 20 years is a long time to speculate but i think after 20 years bitcoin will be more and  more popular because people are accepting bitcoin and the number of bitcoin users are increasing and so the use of bitcoin is also increasing.

In my opinion it is something worst to predict about it because it takes only about 8-9 year  and here we are seeing that few of counties banned the bitcoin , Some countries banned it indirectly and some of them directly .
So it may be possible some more countries banned the bitcoin or here it is also possible that some countries who banned the bitcoin may start to use bitcoin and remove ban.
And if we predict about the price then it may be possible that its price became 1000 times more than the current price .
Here chances of happening anything with bitcoin .

Dont think that alt will be in the middle in price if this price comes to be in neat future then around 100-200 dollar might be maximum price for some alt in that time. Which one it will be that will be hard to predict maybe some new comer or some currently active, hard to tell and predict.

Hard to predict bitcoin weeks from now let alone 20 years, anyhow because I am pro bitcoin like everyone here probably I will predict it will be the leading global currency, usable worldwide, However it would be difficult to say if this is true or not [until it's 20 years from now]

It is already difficult to do a prediction for two or three years, so it's really hard to know what's going to happen in twenty years. But it is not necessary to be an expert to know that in the long term there are great possibilities for the currency if the ecosystem continues to grow.

Do you really think Governments will just sit back and look how Bitcoin will grow that large? Governments will never allow Bitcoin to gain that much ground at cost of their own fiat currencies.

I think we must be very happy with the fact that Bitcoin is just an alternative currency tool as we can still enjoy some sort of freedom right now. Just imagine how that will be when governments start a war againt Bitcoin.

OP - I personally think that by that time Bitcoin will be what Gold is right now, but with far more possibilities due to its digital nature. I love the fact that you can transfer wealth instantly from one place to another.

Until then, we will have five halvings, so there is a lot of potential for the price to go up. However, as we know, price is a result of supply and demand, and in order for there to be demand, it is necessary people using the currency. Not only customers, of course, but also merchants.

It really dependes on how bitcoin is used over the next 5 years, if some killer app appears then bitcoin could take off.  i am hoping that Dotcoms megaupload 2 and bitcache might help that in the newyear.

Well, being futuristic, that's what going to happen. 20 years from is still far, with that said, people I think is already into new technology and probably money is getting more digital that time. If bitcoin is still alive after 20 years from now, I don't see it being a partner with others, but rather, we could see lots of bitcoin ATM machines, bitcoin remittance center, and also payment centers. Probably others will be forced to accept it as it is becoming popular.

After 20 years late,i think bitcoin will experience a significant increase compared to today. bitcoin might even have become a currency substitute for real money. so bitcoin already recognized regulations and rules.

Maybe it's too "mean nothing" if we speculate what will happen on bitcoin 20 years later. I know we're all want bitcoin still alive on that day. One we can do from now is spread bitcoin to the world. Introduce bitcoin to all people and make it understand this is the new money, new future and this what they want all this time.

Your post shows the lack awareness you have on what is going on with Bitcoin. Most of you here keep saying "Yes yes yes" like it was really easy. How can you say that Bitcoin use will increase in the future? The blocks are full, the network cannot scale and politics and greed are delaying the needed upgrades to house more transactions per block.

I want it also that way to avoid being fully monitored by authorities. $1200 is a good price but as many will go on this year including new projects it might go way higher than that.
I dont want to lose bitcoin that is why I am it doesnt reach too much of the hike. We dont our oovely coin getting banned in an instant.
Year 2036 is unknown and I might not even see that, looking forward to seeing it more used globally.

20 years from now bitcoin will still be with us and I have no doubt that it will keep being the top crypto currency of the world, at the same time, adoption will grow and the value of bitcoin will grow probably something close to 10k.
