You really wanna know... Okay... In all seriousness... I took the newsletter statement ""we may be in a position to release Jupiter’s and possibly upgrade cards which we will ship from stock." to mean... they will not be preorders, but will be a batch run & assembled before offered for sale, which could then be sold from stock, for immediate shipment. Which would also explain the answers in your emails. Nothing in the statement they made says they have them in stock as I understand it. What are 40 new employees going to do until Neptune time? Based on the past, they can assemble & ship an entire batch in 2 weeks, so there's plenty of time to pull that one off. That's what I'm betting is happening.... and no, that's NOT an inside scoop, I could be totally off-base too. "SOLD FROM STOCK" means what it says, SOLD FROM STOCK. Where in the world would you put together they would have to make them? If they had to make them and put them together and all that, they probably wouldn't have said SOLD FROM STOCK. It was a BALK KNC did to make people get some coin and not purchase from a competitor. Then the Neptune sales came out. It was just a marketing tactic. They seem good to their word with minor exceptions so far and that's way ahead of others so I'm not going to give the 'just a marketing tactic' any weight. Two weeks ago they told us to have some coin ready/handy. Why would they tell us that and then not put anything up for sale as indicated? Then, before the so called Jupiter sale a Neptune sale happens. Kind of perfect timing to me. I wouldn't put it past them at all for advertising a very sought after item, then put up pre-orders for another months and months away. People don't realize Q2 is half a year away. Dumping $13k or even $10k for something that far away is truly a die hard gamble and does take some big balls. My balls aren't big enough for that.

Happy New Year everyone, and KnC staff especially! Godt Nytt År!Good bye, the Year of Jupiter and Saturn! Here is to the Year of Neptune! Being a Swedish company, I felt that KnC would come through with the 28nm technology (and Bitcoinarama's research only reinforced my positive feel back then. Thank you, Bitcoinorama.) Now, I have an equally strong belief that KnC will deliver on their 20nm venture, and my bet on that are BTC11 that I paid towards 1 Neptune in the early batch. 2014 promises to be even more interesting than 2013.

Why are people asking for refunds on Neptunes?
Because they got robbed. And some are pretty pissed they had to shell out $13k and then they listed them for $10k to everyone.

I's just too hard for me to believe someone could be that stupid. I think he was kidding.... burbon or something.... lol Why are people asking for refunds on Neptunes? Why don't people read? ...sry.....no coffee yet.... We were duped into thinking there was going to be another Jupiter run! Looks as if they may have changed their mind.

Personally I took a schellacking on the Bitpay, waiting until btc was over a grand on MtGox then later that day buying but getting a $984 or so price on the btc while the slope was up the entire time, and that for the $13,200.20. But still the ~$984 was a good btc value compared to $700 or $800/btc. So, I'm not feeling upset. That drop back to $9995 makes me wonder if KnC, their ear to the ground and having access to info at the chip manufacturer level which might include gossip between chip manufacturers, could possibly think there's a lot more coming down the pipeline a month after batch 1 has shipped, much more than they had earlier figured. Remember back when we were waiting for production testing to begin. There was a delay with KnC but the network hashrate showed a sharp increase that would have been hidden by KnC's hash. Like someone tried to slip some major hashing by. So, nobody knows everything that's going on out there.

Their pricing scheme is a bit deceptive: Viper (Scrypt) Miner (25Mh/s) £1,635 30% Deposit Required: £1635. Total price: £5450. Remainder will need to be paid 8-10 weeks before shipment. Shipment will be extra, which shall be notified during final payment. That's about $10K total cost. I think it's too much.

There is little saving in the way of hardware cost to graphics card, the saving is in the power consumption and heat, and the amount of hashrate a household can feasibly sustain if you want to max the circuit...

That would be nice to know. If KNC breaks their network protection statement some of us might go for Neptune refunds.

That would be nice to know. If KNC breaks their network protection statement some of us might go for a USD Neptune refund. Nothing to be broken in the statement... other companies are delivering...... BUT- There are about a thousand people scratching their heads wondering about the Possible Jupiter grab... and it would be helpful to know... although I suspect it's a plan to keep things hushed up a bit as to not cause a rush on refunds, and a frenzy on Jupiter day.... I think we deserve to know what basket we need to have our cookies in... I mean, we were warned to keep some BTC handy.... ?
