The challenge is that even at 3 BTC the buyer is perhaps -0.5BTC ROI.. It's all speculation either way though..

So how many watts do the nov jupiters pull? KnC said there would be about a 30% drop in elecricity usage. I'm assuming that will be based on Nov numbers.

November jupiters pull around 850 watts, but a Neptune will be at least 5x as fast.

A Neptune is 30% more efficient, so a back of the napkin calculation shows that a Neptune at 3TH will draw around 3000w. If knc over delivers and the Neptune is 4TH, we're looking at some scary power draw numbers unless knc also over delivers on power efficiency.

I think you're right.  I don't have a Nov. Jupiter.  My Merc was very efficient and the add-on module less so but the two use 361watts at the wall.  Using these numbers and a factor of 11x I get 3135 watts or 26amps@120VAC or 13.6amps@230VAC.

Using the first module as a guide, the more efficient, I get 2156watts - that's 70% of 22x the Merc.

My previous calculation of 2000watts was using the Merc stats.  This is likely a mistake because at 20nm there will be a higher probability of an impurity triggering activity at a gate, misfiring, so higher errors which will draw power.

not that I see ...myself....if they got us something the 1st of feb I'd be looking at if lucky 0.1btc per day...still iffy if I will do so..even with brothers at only 1/3 the risk

I still figure it will be 3.5k a machine and it will trickle out to us a little after feb 1st most likely (ie need time ..er business days to get up to speed don't work on weekends imho)

just looks like a tight squeeze if you think they MAY bet neptunes out in Q1 ie april

this bitcoin stuff makes my head hurt

I hope they announce if they are selling or not by the end of the week I have been holding off ordering any mining gear until I find out what knc are doing. I'm keen to get the wheels in motion to combat rising difficulty by ordering something. Grin

I received the exact same email when I inquired as well. I replied with the following:

Thanks Natalie. I'm aware of the Neptune offer and currently have two on order. Would I be correct to interpret your response as an indication that there will be no more Jupiters in the near future?

To which Natalie quickly replied:

Currently we don't have any information about upcoming news and products.

I don't think we should read too much into this as the support staff probably won't be briefed on any new Jupiter batch information until the internal team makes a decision.

The wording of the NPP is very careful, they talk about "our competitors" I don't think they conisder anyone selling anything less than a 28nm 400Gh/s unit as a competitor really. So they really mean Hashfast, Cointerra, Black Arrow and Bitmine.ch

So unless those guys actually start shipping their batches in significant numbers then I don't think we will see more KnC hardware coming out the warehouse.

Also, the closer they get to neptune launch the less likely they are to release the 28nm product.

Of course that may change very fast if One of the big 4 potential competitors actually starts shipping. Although I don't think any of them are going to until the end of Jan/early Feb

They will honour their NPS, do not expect any additional Jupiter before mass shippment of other competitors - your best indication for new Jup right now is the Cointerra/ Hashfast thread...

Edit: Biffa above said it more eloquent than me Wink

We just pave the way for their success?! 3PH more ~ + 20 % difficulty. (KnC, HF, CT,...) + (CloudHashing, Mining Farms...) <=> Poor us.
Who can clearly explain this issue?

Sounds like for the "first time", they're floundering on their word. A month ago they confirmed they would in fact be selling Jupiters by now (actually, by now they should've been shipped). Now they're quiet.

Either they're releasing the Neptune much earlier than anticipated, like next month, or they're simply going to ignore their word.
