So are the Neptune's ever going to make ROI? I'm thinking about pre-ordering a batch 2/3 unit. (or whatever you want to call what is on their website currently)

Will I be able to plug one of these into my "normal" house? Will there be multiple PSU's?

I don't know.  My pre-purchase assessment based on information I read a month before led me to believe it could but re-reading the specs, probably not.  I'm guessing best case for 3000GH/s will be 2000 watts.  That's 16.6 amps at 120VAC.  Kitchens often have 12 gauge good for 20 amps but an office, bedroom or living room will more likely be wired with 14 gauge good for and having breakers rated at 15 amps.  Run it in the kitchen, heat tea in the microwave and breaker will pop.  And if the GHs is real good and well above 3000 then expect more wattage/current.  One can wire a pair of 15 amp breakers from separate phases and get 230VAC then wire a 230VAC socket and add a 230VAC plug to the Neptune or Neptune power supply depending and draw only 8.7 amps on each line which I'll probably do.

I suspect each Neptune will take 2 to 4 power supplies to run unless Knc ends up including a custom power supply.

My friend, I have been on this forum longer than you and I have been mining BTC longer than you. With that said - I'm most certainly not looking to get rich quick. I asked very simple questions and did not bother reading all 1,000+ pages of this thread. My prior experiences using search on this forum have returned poor results, thus I opted to skip searching this time. Unlike you, I don't have time to spend 30 days of my lifetime on this forum.

For those of you that did answer my questions - thank you!

I'm reading the discussion about the Neptune power draw.

Now I feel myself lucky. I have 3x120amp at 240volt.

Thank god I made in this way....

Think I'm going to rent some warehouse space off a friend and build a mini data centre for my Neptunes. Hopefully they'll be the same size as the Jupiters so I can build some cabinets on those dimensions.

IM betting on KnC not including Psus... looks like we will need a minimum of 2x 1300w or higher to be safe.

You three.....      thanks alot... nobody have their thinking cap on, or what? It would have been like a thousand times more helpful if you told me the answer to the question, instead of all agreeing about a hand-hold situation.  Wankers!
If you all use it so much, you should know...
"Which usd deposit method is 24 hours"......A pretty simple flippin Question.
I'm already fully aware customer service @ BTC-e sucks...  3 minutes watching the chat will tell you that.
Guess you guys don't know either, which would explain the answers.
I have over 600 grand in 30-day BTC volume... don't tell me I don't know how to use an exchange please...ok?
I have trading accounts, and have traded at 6 different BTC exchanges, scottrade, e-trade, and forex. I trade them all.... ok?
I definitely "know how to use" exchanges.
I don't know how to deposit USD into BTC-e within the advertised 24 hours because it's simply not there.
Prove me wrong please.

You mentioned you sent 20 emails to customer support of a russian site which one sentence in russian would of gotten your reply that as a US resident you are very limited. If you aren't a US resident or at least know someone else who isn't then you can quickly put USD in within 24hours

it's not the type of money, it is the starting point and currently this answer is plastered on their website in english when you go to perform a transfer

that is why I said the hand holding comment

PS--as of now, it looks like they took off the bank transfer option (at least for me since I don't use an ID verified account and funded via OKPAY last summer)

Which would mean we need industrial power supplies aka router / server power supplies.
Using several commercial power supplies will raise the cost to run the neptunes.
It would be better if KNC included the power supplies as for a manufacturer it cost way less to order bulk power supplies.
Also the price range we payed for the miners you would think they would include the power supply, but at this moment it's anyone's guess.
I already raised my concerns regarding this issue with support but have yet to receive a concluded answer.

This will be an important product line.  If they design their own and build it in or if they design around specs of a single manufacturer's power supply perhaps having that company run a line of supplies specifically for the Neptune that KnC can install before shipping, they may feel more secure and realize fewer customer screw ups.

Heck, an F.X.Boch deisgned the switching supply for a switching-servo-amplifier for PMI Motors back in the late 1970's a division of Kollmorgen so they could probably get licensing from Kollmorgen.  It was an elegant approach.

So how many watts do the nov jupiters pull? KnC said there would be about a 30% drop in elecricity usage. I'm assuming that will be based on Nov numbers.

Your discounting the time and money needed for the certifications etc for shipping a miner with a PSU, vs sourcing a pre certified PSU like CT/HF

Yes.  So, a supply from an established manufacturer, installed.

November jupiters pull around 850 watts, but a Neptune will be at least 5x as fast.

A Neptune is 30% more efficient, so a back of the napkin calculation shows that a Neptune at 3TH will draw around 3000w. If knc over delivers and the Neptune is 4TH, we're looking at some scary power draw numbers unless knc also over delivers on power efficiency.

I think you're right.  I don't have a Nov. Jupiter.  My Merc was very efficient and the add-on module less so but the two use 361watts at the wall.  Using these numbers and a factor of 11x I get 3135 watts or 26amps@120VAC or 13.6amps@230VAC.

Using the first module as a guide, the more efficient, I get 2156watts - that's 70% of 22x the Merc.

My previous calculation of 2000watts was using the Merc stats.  This is likely a mistake because at 20nm there will be a higher probability of an impurity triggering activity at a gate, misfiring, so higher errors which will draw power.
