Personally, let's say I could only support 2kw, I'd feel almost ill owning a miner which can only do 3TH because of the limitation, knowing that if I had more power it could go twice as fast. It's like paying 2x as much for a miner than you need to. I have a feeling the Neptune will be able to hit 5 or 6TH in the right conditions.

It's like buying a jupiter and unplugging 2 modules Smiley

Anyhow.. I have confidence they can pull off the 20nm stuff, and their designs are without equal right now, but I just think they burned a few bridges in order to open up a few pathways to the industrial side of mining. In the longrun, it will be professionally hosted sites and industrial-based home setups which will carry bitcoin. It's clear KNC is positioning themselves to be the #1 hardware supplier of those customers, and is leaving the consumer/foundational miner behind.

Anyone who doesn't see that, has blinds over their eyes.

And Orama, I wouldn't be to sharp to say Cointerra's chips are being rated at "maximum" output. There just may be some surprises in store.

Just my .02

Sorry if this has already been discussed (can't keep up with this thread!) but realistically, will the Neptune ever ROI? It seems a bit punchy price-wise...

I went through several scenarios. The positive ones (March-May delivery, modest jumps, steady BTC $ increase) look good. The ones that deliver towards July with BTC pricing downturns or greater than 20% jumps don't look so good.

Sames risk as always -- do your own analysis.

Thx Bitcoinorama 4 nothing, mostly the mercury hash only 80-99Ghas, most of 200 oct boards ended in Jupiter's owners hands, or on ebay, bitmit, marke place Sad and please do don't write like there is only one manufacturer for each part of miner in world

I order these parts too... sometimes there is only one optimal part and it does become a pain to source the best part or an alternative.

Suppliers to me are Newark/Farnell, Embest, Mouser, Digikey, Texas Instruments, Sayal Arrow etc....

I recently had a major project derailed when TI NRND'd all my MCU's -- so as far as I am concerned he's right.

But you can believe whatever you like...

So I put my order for a neptune in but its taking longer than I expected to move the money around.

Does anyone have any idea how long my order will stay valid? I know with the mercury preorders they lasted a week or 2. I emailed them and had that even extended without issue. But due to the nature of neptune Im not sure. Anyone have info?

KnC uses minimum values based on calculations they know are achievable in the real world. There is reasoning behind that we will be able to explore in a few months time.

What real-world results of 20nm silicon are they basing their minimum values on?

Sorry, almost sounds like you are saying you don't have a wallet?

Just use your wallet, wait till its confirmed before sending.

He may want to use an escrow service (he sends btc to a third party who holds it until delivery is completed)

Either way you need a bitcoin wallet to received the buyers BTC

Log in to your account on KnC and right under your phone number you will see a 'customer group' line.  If it says 'Neptune', you are good to go.

4 Spots filled, 6 to go!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348846.msg3736144#msg3736144

Almost no FEE! 6.7%, and you get 280GH for doing nothing!

I wonder where you got your idea from  Huh

I understand imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but you went way beyond just imitating, you are coping and pasting word-for-word most of my original text that took me hours to thought through and composed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348743.msg

That's not cool at all.   Angry

What does that say about your character or lack of character?  How can you expect people to trust you if you resort to stealing someone else's words, ideas and thoughts?

I thought through and standby my words, but you?  I doubt you will standby your own words, let alone someone else's.  And worst you endlessly spamming here while contributing nothing?

I have paid for two neptune miners, but just waiting on confirmation.
It is a bit of a risk i'll suppose but he who dares Rodney and all that.

If the price keep rising like this then it should pay dividends if they arrive in Q1

By this Time Next year Rodney we will be Millionaires
