I know that technical details are important, but what we don't know is what will be the hashing power and energy usage.
---SNIP---

I'm guessing total @ wall a bit above 2kW
Definately need 200+ VAC circuit for most situations.
A 15A 220VAC(ASSuMEd USA power std.) circuit would be minimum I'd consider for a single Neptune.

YMMV
Smiley

I have only 15A/120V circuits where I want to host it  Undecided, but I can probably use two of them, though; each should be enough for 12.5X120=1500W
I cannot use the"sacred" dryer (240V/30A) circuit, hence I can only host one Neptune in the best case scenario.

You're not going to have to worry about that.  You're not getting a Neptune.  No one is.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Do they have 20nm asics ready?

I hear Nvidia has delayed 20nm parts till 2015, and I very much doubt knc can get them before Nvidia does.

Something does not compute, because a fine swedish lady from customers support gave an assurance of Q2 shipping  Wink
Which means shipping in August according to past history.  Maybe July.

The other interesting info from this:

"Bitcoin will by charging their customers a transaction fee of 0.02% passing through the nodes of Constance and through that to ensure one million investment in women's handball in Boden."

So not only the regular bitcoin transaction fee, knc are going to be scalping 0.02% off every transaction that goes through their KNCWallet (now you know what it's for).

So when they say they are offering free 6 month cloud hashing, it's also a lie, as they'll be scalping 0.02% fees off every payout.

Hahahah!

Raskul, I'm not debating the validity of your information at all, but am interested if your source specifically mentioned Kncminer?

Hahahah!

Raskul, I'm not debating the validity of your information at all, but am interested if your source specifically mentioned Kncminer?

In the conversation I had, prior to my receiving the document, almost every mining h/w manufacturer was discussed, I wanted to gleam as much information as I could. So yes, KNC were talked about - but the full info is more generic, and covers many more than just KNC.
I can only presume (thanks avenger, that gave me a giggle) that KnC knew all about the mask-schedule, as the document I have is the same as they would have received prior to deciding where to tape-out and with whom...

sorry but i'm moving on to another story now, so take all this as you will. i work in the news and this is now yesterdays news. the article i've written has been put round my list of editors and it's now up to them; if they want, to run it.

by the way, for info, i'm a miner myself and i've been just as screwed over as the rest of you. so please, don't shoot the messenger.

yeah but in this case the messenger has info. that the rest of us DO NOT,  so shooting the messenger at this point should be allowed, ok well at least some water boarding, that's not torture, right! Shocked

Well in case anyone is wondering, they're still processing refunds without problems, I just asked for a refund of a Neptune (CA batch) and they said it'll be processed shortly...

I sent an e-mail requesting refund of my CA batch Neptune Friday morning, including bank details. The response within 2 hours: Refund will be processed shortly. Today the status in the history switched to "Order refunded".

Will let you know when the money hits my account.

I had a pretty good (actually, excellent) experience with refund-6 calendar days between providing bank details and getting money.

Take two 110V@16A circuits and make into a 220V@32A circuit.  Then stick a NEMA L6-30R socket on it and buy a 220V PDU.  Make sure the PDU has at least two C19 sockets.  Then you should be able to power two Neptune's with that socket and a PDU.  I'm hoping Neptune's to start shipping late April and expect plan B to start to come into effect mid May if they haven't started shipping already.
