*** Latest news from KNC ***

All,

So last week we really messed up. We sent out products to our customers which arrived broken, damaged and quite frankly unusable.

So in order to fix this the best way we can. We are not asking for these products back from anyone who has received them already. We will simply assume that every card was damaged in shipment even if it arrived undamaged. We will send out to every customer who had a 3TH Jupiter or several already arrive, enough cards to replace their entire collection,

There is no way our customers should have to suffer because of our mistake in not properly securing the components during shipment.
Any effected box in transit is being cancelled by UPS and returned to us to be fixed by our teams,

The factory that produces the cards has been running over the weekend and we hope to have all the replacement cards sent out this week.

Rather than spending more time than is absolutely necessary on this we are going to take the approach of the famous Swedish Furniture maker and ship the box with minimal self-assembly. An instruction video is being made today and will be available later for all to see.
Again we are sorry for not delivering up to our own accepted standard,

Thanks

KnCMiner Team

Ugh, so I have to waste more time taking everything apart and reassembling them? I suppose I have to drill out rivets and/or break off the plastic feet on the case.

And notice, there was no statement on if they are sending heatsinks that can be bolted down. So we'll still have these poorly designed, fragile piles of crap. But oh joy, there will be a bunch of extra boards that we can't do anything with.

KnC are advising that you get your hands into their rigging without a note of caution - likening it to building a wardrobe purchased from IKEA?

guys, please be careful.

Well, at least they were honest in using four words: "Again we are sorry"... yeah, they sure are sorry.

They've become yet another example of excessive greed destroys.

NO need to drill....just turn unit upside down.....(mine rattle extremely when doing so Cheesy) then pull of the legs, then with your finger nail dig in around the head of the plastic button/rivet (whatever) and pull it out or use any object thin enough to get under the plastic head and lift, they come out rather easily. then just gently pry under the chip board and lift up off heat sink( hahaha, if it is still in place) ok.

Out of 36 boards only 6 looked usable and of those only 1 is actually working, 2 power up but show completely dead dies and the other 3 do nothing but look good.

I am wondering if this wasn't all subterfuge from the get go....buy time = more money??

edit:

it just seemed to easy.......OOPS, every gets new machines now in a few weeks etc etc etc

That sounds extremely worrying.

That is like taking boards from the trash container and shipping to customers...

Were the heatsinks only stuck onto the board by the thermal paste?

Yup, except now they can claim all of the bad boards as damaged in shipment and get reimbursed by the shipping co./insurance, All the while mining on the equipment they should have sent.

Brilliant.

Bullshit, that would never fly. No insurance / shipping company is going to cover stupidity. KNC will have to eat 100% of this loss.

I am fairly certain the shipping companies will demand proof of secure packaging (according to their terms of sale) and wont pay KnC a penny, as this !would smell alot like KnC defrauding the shipment company.

They have specialised teams working to help minimize every penny in reimbursements, and it sure looks very suspicious if every package the company sent out is claimed to be damaged by shipping.

Exactly, you think that shipping companies can't use the internet? Sheesh wouldn't take 10 seconds to find out that sort of thing.

No I think that KnC can afford to eat the loss themselves. They wouldn't risk their relationship with shipping companies or insurance fraud charges

If the shipping company has half a brain they wont cover the cost. This is a result of bad engineering not rough shipping.

For consumers in Europe:

http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/ecc/index_en.htm

Click your country and start!

I've seen those pictures.... I was expecting to buy from a "Rolls Royce" or "Rolex" company, invested more then 10.000 dollars to get the best I could get, from the best company in the world, wellknown and respected everywhere, but when I see how it is build, even the worst Chinese manufactor does not make these mistakes.

I am really shocked.... Is this the new way of KNC? Are the still expected Neptunes and Titans also manufactured like garbage?

Anyway,
did people receive a UPS tracking code from KNC? I did not receive any mail or post last week from them.

I was going to order a Titan, but now think my coin will be better spent elsewhere. Good luck to you guys, hopefully you can at least eventually recoup your investment.

 Neptune performance upgrade

KnCMiner Offers Two-for-One Deal on Bitcoin Mining’s Most Powerful Machine to Loyal Customers

STOCKHOLM, DATE, 2014 — KnCMiner (https://www.kncminer.com/), the most trusted brand in Bitcoin mining, announced today that it will give every current customer who has an outstanding order for a machine from its Neptune line’s first two batches a free Neptune from its upcoming “third batch” of Neptunes. This represents a $5,995 value and, perhaps more importantly, will provide KnCMiner’s most loyal customers with twice the hashing power they would have otherwise received with just one of these machines.

“We know that it is getting tougher to successfully mine in this environment and we want our customers to have every advantage we can give them,” said KnCMiner CEO Sam Cole. “So to combat the downward trend in mining returns for the customers who have been with us right from the beginning, and to show our competition we mean business, we will be over-delivering again on all orders.”

Neptune is KnCMiner’s first 20nm product. It features a minimum of 3,000 GH/s (aka 3 TH/s) of hashing speed, five times faster than the company’s most recent bestselling miner, the Jupiter. It also boasts a 30 percent reduction in watts-per-GH. Thanks to KnCMiner’s offer, each customer who ordered a first or second batch Neptune, will get a minimum 6TH for each order, with their original 3TH product shipped in June and the free “third batch” machine delivered in August.

“As miners face growing competition, and the increasing difficulty to mine Bitcoin, we will keep working on creative and unorthodox ways to put the best and most loyal customers on the planet first and provide them with the competitive edge they’ve come to expect from KnCMiner,” said Cole.

The company has recently announced other initiatives to engage all form of cryptominers, including the launch of a “Mini Neptune” machine (1500 GH/s, $3,495), and for all those Litecoin and Dogecoin enthusiasts, the availability of scrypt miners—the Titan (300 MH/s, $9,995) and “Mini Titan” (150 MH/s, $5,495). KnCMiner also offers cloud-hosted mining participation to existing customers. To learn more about these products and services, please visit https://www.kncminer.com.

KNC PLEASE SEND ME MY REFUND!!! YOU HAVE BEEN DRAGGING FOR 3 AND HALF WEEKS FOR MY ENTITLED REFUND!

Now that's a lousy announcement. It looks like it's an article from a news magazine with all those Sam quotes. Since we still have no timelines let's assume first batch will ship at the end of June, second batch will ship at end of July and third batch will ship end of August. You will get your free Neptune mid September. Ok!

Also second announcement today. This was a very busy day for Sam.

I think I will have to upgrade the main fuses but it's a great gesture from KnC.
