We are not going anywhere until we can break it at $5500.

With price currently below $5300, would not just getting to $5500 be -- by definition -- going somewhere?

I just sold some BTC and some ALTs. it sucks watching the market eveyday.

Watching the market everyday is optional with BTC.

In other words, you can long term invest into BTC.

I don't know what the fuck you are talking about in regards to alts, but as long as you keep them below 5% of your stash, you might not need to watch them, either.... granted, even 5% might be too much of an alt coin allocation, depending on how you proportion them.

This will be the first halvening that the entire financial world knows what Bitcoin is.
But, what if they are still not done buying cheap Bitcoins?
Or they already loaded their bags at the $3,xxx bottom?
$100,000 is too small for new ATH but before that, we should see first breaking our ATH at $19,xxx.

Whole of BTC-world knows this story and everybody is with Elwar, just so Nice to read and to hear he’s ok....

GoGoGo Elwar and be safe!!!
Has a major media outlet picked it up yet?

I heard a story on NPR about it today.

I am surprised by a belligerent reaction to what is essentially building a floating house.
Not sure that I understand this.

Me either. What's the difference between that and an anchored sailboat?

An anchored sailboat is mobile... in spite of the anchor...    Wink     Cheesy     Tongue

It feels good to have BTC 'children'.
My coiner friend - by his own initiative - took it to the next level:

First one in town, second one on the island.
Fees are high though, 9% to buy, 4.5% to sell (debatable after a certain volume).
Loved the paper wallet option - especially the legacy part - & the absence of KYC.

Watching him explain it to customers was priceless. Pure FOMO.
Lightning node & accepting BTC payments is next. Wink
I'm proud.
Please tell me that was an empty paper wallet and you did not just post a private key.

Did Fudsters run out of Fud?

Remember in 14 and 15 when US Marshals would announce a Silk Road Bitcoin auction every time we had a strong rally.

No more auctions.

China Bans dont work anymore.

Chinese Miners cant block Segwit anymore.

Big Blockers already forked themselves into irrelevance and shame.

Craig Wright Fud isnt moving the market anymore.

Bitcoin uses all the electricity in the galaxy doesnt work anymore.

What will Fudsters do now?Huh?

Is this the end of FUD?

100k soon  Cheesy ??

I don't know why would anybody risk his life to build a "seastead" while you can buy one of these:
BAVARIA C57

The interior is huge. There are people who actually live on these boats. Life is too short to risk it against dumb/corrupt governments. He already has the money to buy even a bigger boat than this and can live with his girlfriend without worrying about anything.

That’s beautiful, it really is. I’d love to be able to buy one. I imagine it’d be very expensive though.

It is frustrating waiting isn’t it my friend. We could be sitting on absolute gold mines but most of us have to wait for the price to increase fairly significantly to realise those riches.

It’s frustrating working, kissing ass at work & continuing about your daily business when in a few years we can probably all say ‘fuck you’ & walk out.

Nothing comes easily so patience it is. One day brother, one day.

Ugg.. so feeling this...

Made doubly so, since upper management around here has seemingly recently adopted the attitude of "the beatings will continue till moral improves" ..

63... that's my number.. 63K...  the day it hits 63K, I put in my notice....

hookers and blow will, unfortunately, have to wait for an order of magnitude above that...  Sad

It's all about making the things you believe in real. That's to be admired.

I believe more in the average government wanting to slice me into small pieces than the original principle though.

The first person through the door always gets their head blown off. Everyone who comes after shuffles through without a squeak.

Just make sure you don’t sell everything at 63k. Whatever you continue to HODL can act as a pension pot when you’re old & wrinkly. State & bank pensions fucking suck any way.

I don’t even know what 1 bitcoin will be worth when I’m retirement age but I’d be willing to bet it’ll be a fuck load more than if I put £200 a month into a shitty bank based pension.

Depending on the physical condition, it varies between $500k and a million US Dollars.  Grin

Your real problems however, I imagine, only start after you buy it. You see the price tag before you buy this but you don't know what's waiting for you afterwards. The maintenance costs are probably huge as well as its interior. Can't imagine how expensive is a new set of sail fabrics for a boat that big.

Random BCH thought:

I'm surprised it has actually held up this well, it was around $300 at the start of the fork and remains in that area, still a top 5 coin and I'm sure Roger transferred btc for bch right at the start so he isn't doing too bad financially.  Long term success is still dicey.

I am sure Elwar paid more than that for his seastead.
