Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

What's up with all these bugs? @Lambie and @V8
Not sure about V8, but no bugs for me, I'm just a striped hyena with a lamb carcass in my mouth who serves King Bitcoin. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg53853355#msg53853355 + homer = new hat I doubt that will happen but I will send beer money in bitcoin to every single WO hat wearer if we hit an ATH before the halving. Quoted Bob's beer money is doing just fine So is your Vegeta challenge coin I'll almost feel bad letting you buy the drinks Brohim, you are like machines. First of all there's L_duderinoo with his world-renown guessing games, then LFC is always buying people drinks in price-level games, and you my dear Icygreen sir, always winning: the 2 games you mentioned, but also some Hairy-made location guessing game from the Nam. I do love it when people win things. You missed Theymos art contest, haha. Still yet to fetch a duderino winning although we've exchanged gifts by mail which feels like a win and part of the collection. I mark the coins on a Trezor, collection like, which I hope to look back in 10 years and post the stories and signed keys here. Hopefully worth ridiculous amounts.

"Some Bitcoin promoters are deliberately misrepresenting my concession that anyone who bought Bitcoin 10 years ago and sells now will make money as an endorsement of buying #Bitcoin today. It is not. Those who buy today and sell 10 years from now will likely do so at a loss." https://twitter.com/PeterSchiff/status/1229742185651851266LOL, I wonder what he will say as the years go by and he gets proven wrong over and over, just like for the last 6 or 7.

my theory is this: until halving in May 2020 volume on marketplaces will decline because miners and others will hold back their BTC and plan to sell it after halving. they are speculating the price will increase after halving.
so low volume is not good for markets because then markets are easier to manipulate by big fishes.
any thoughts on this?

Has a bit of 80s touch to it, which could be cool somehow nowadays again, but... NO EDIT: Better "weg geht er" (the guy in the pic) instead of "vegeta" LOL

I remember in 2010 being disappointed that we hadn't found any monoliths yet, and we still haven't found a single one. ITS OVER 9600!!!

I would have thought if miners were not selling, the price would go up. Its definitely not doing that.

Yes but what whale in his right mind will sell big q-ties before the halving? You need to be an epic retard to do it. The price will also inevitably go down AFTER the halving so why someone would just swim against the tide additionally risking being rekt?

Yes but what whale in his right mind will sell big q-ties before the halving? because for someone who will buy cheap before the halving price is to damn high. so he tries to bring the price down and buy cheaper back afterwards. no? EDIT: and if less volume much better for him. i bet on boring times until May/June 2020.

the price will increase after the next halving if the demand will be on the same level as before the halving. it is the law of demand and supply in every market. period.
if I want to buy cheap before the halving I would do the following:
first, spread as much untrue stories about the halving as you can (e.g. the halving is priced in and so on).
second, I would try to dump the market if the volume is very low through margin trading (FIAT) especially on weekends when professional market participants do not trade.
third, after a successful dump (we had it at least twice the last days) I would buy back slowly physical BTC in small amounts to avoid a pump of the market (we had it if the price jumps above 10k the second time).
so expect slow and steady increasing of the price and unexpected dumps afterwards. rinse and repeat and watch the noobs crying in social media if they sold at the bottom.
