After 12 hours on v9.2 my stale rate has gone up to 36% - whereas on the previous v9.1-9 it was steady at a lower (but still high) 18-22%. Connections seem quicker, but those damn "punishing share for stale" and "tx" messages are constantly thrown at me. Might go back to the previous build.......
0% stale for me I know how you done it......you swithed it off! lol

cgminer submits stales automatically on p2pool without any specific configuration (a pool can request stales to be submitted and cgminer honors the request).

I love the p2p ethos, and the whole BitCoin thing - but can't afford to throw my cash into it without at least breaking even, which I'm not at the moment......

Was using 9.0 fine and suddenly on reboot was spammed with this message and it closes instantly when using: https://i.imgur.com/W4We3.pngNow I downloaded 9.2 just in case, but it connects quickly, but never do my miners seem to connect.. not even on the host machine. Anyone..? Firewall? Looks like its blocked somehow. Fixed the problem, if there was any, with a reboot on 9.2 However still no explanation of 9.0 happenings.

If you see those errors ("Error when requesting noncached value:"), if means that there was a failure earlier on. I should probably mask those somehow... anyway, scroll up to see what actually went wrong.

I just tried newest version from git overnight. And I have to admit, p2pool is still unusable for me. On my machine with 1GB RAM, p2pool is consuming 523 MB RAM (1002 MB virtual). I have some other processes running on my Debian machine and I cannot give away half of my RAM to p2pool, because of very high swapfile usage. Before v9 it was much lower and p2pool was running absolutely fine. I have to shutdown my node.

Not sure if it's worth worrying about or not but posting just in case. I got this too on a fresh install and fresh git this morning. Did it eventually get all the shares and recover? I'm still getting them after 10 minutes.

I have not had time to understand what symbol brings problems. I just left the only letters and numbers, and the problem went away.

Yeah, I know some symbols can cause problems, but I like to use them when I can as an extra security layer. I've noticed a steady lowering of the stale rate of late, as well as a lowering of users of the pool. Is there a general correlation with regards users v stales - or has Forrestv been doing some expert tweaking?
