Anyone have idea about the speed getting share in this pool? He ask me to check his pool. He used to get 5.5 btc per block. But after he get more hash power to reach 100t, payout getting slower and slower. I noticed his share didnt increase, or increase slowly. After he reboot the linux server... nothing change. His pool still be slower than other peoples.. He had about 105T hashrate. Here it's his log file and his pool address. We guess... Is there a bug if someone have 1/4-1/5 hashrate more than global pool? Should he create more pool and avg his hash power? like 25t for each pool? pool address http://1tbtc.meibu.net:9332/static/his log file ( dropbox zip link ) http://1tbtc.meibu.net:9332/static/Local rate: 104TH/s (3.0% DOA) Expected time to share: 1.3 minutes He should get one share every 1.3 min ..but he get one share about 10-40min or more... What is the problem?

What is the problem? I would guess because of his hashrate his diff is getting increased above the current p2pool minimum of 1780000 which is where the estimate of 1.3 is coming from. It's not a problem...it's by design. He really does not need a share every 1.3 minutes. His payouts should be the same regardless as the shares he does get are worth more. Edit: I was only addressing this part: "He should get one share every 1.3 min ..but he get one share about 10-40min or more... What is the problem?"

p2pool hashpower is increasing. Difficulty is also increasing. That means unless his hashpower is also increasing, his piece of the pie will decrease. However, he should get more pieces than he did before because of the overall pool hashpower increase. However, it'll be offset by difficulty increasing. M

I've been looking for a good time to switch some of my hashpower over to a p2p system. I'm curious though (and I'll be honest, I haven't read through as much of this as I should of), but where does this 2% fee go? Does this get distributed to people who run nodes somehow? Also, It sounds like its not worth it to bring my S2's over, but with the newest firmware and https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1 - I should be OK to bring my S1's over? Sorry I'm a total newb, but I get antsy to switch because Slush's luck has been insanely high lately, and that's usually the perfect time to pool hop to this model because it supports further decentralization. so ELI5 away, I won't be offended . There is no set fee for P2Pool, it varies by node, and many nodes operate at 0% fees. There are 2 fees that can be set on any given node: 1. A donation % for the developer (forrestv) 2. A donation % for the node default address These 2 fees can be configured in any combination, again many node operators set them to 0, some do not. If you run your own node you can set your fee to whatever you want. It's notable that P2Pool "fees" are implemented as a % of shares submitted and not of total payouts... If your in the US and looking for a 0% node check out the link in my signature Now what incentivizes you for me to jump onto your node if you run at 0% fee? And yeah, I have no problem with you taking a fee, but I was looking for .5 or 1%

A few reasons: 1. My front-end is in beta and I want to load it up. 2. Mining decentralization protects the network. 3. More miners in the pool = lower variance.

Why don't you just crank up your own node? If you're that keen on paying a fee you can charge yourself whatever you want......

I would suggest to close the ports for p2pool 9332 and 9333, reboot after that and see if it helps. If You think theres not enough connections edit the source to accept more then 10 connections... Theres something one can tweak in bitcoin.conf also, try to get Bitcoind GetBlockTemplate Latency to go below 5ms then shares should start to flow in your direction..

5ms would be an amazing feat, never seen it. 20ms is our target. You also have to take luck/variance into consideration.

It's been down since last week, forrestv said he has control of it and it will be back up soon.

Does anyone have or know of a list containing all P2Pool found block hashes (including orphans)?
About ready to roll out the next update to the front end, I have all p2pool blocks back to 298815 (the last 34 blocks found currently). I'd really like to find all the previous blocks if anyone has a list, or a Bitcoin address that has been on p2pool a long time. This update includes, among other things, miner payouts per block, and a total for the miner address. It does not require you to mine on my node to see your payouts (works for any p2pool miner). Below is a sneak peek, I'd really like to get all the historical blocks if there is anyone that can help me track them down...

Thanks to tdminer we now have what I believe to be the last 2,034 blocks found by p2pool back to January 23, 2012 (block 163433), as this thread was started June 17, 2011 I'm still missing quite a few. If anyone has any other resource for the early p2pool blocks I'd love to see it. Here are some cool stats (more to come on my node this week): All stats are from January 23, 2012 to today.Blocks Found: 2,034 Unique addresses paid (miners): 10,609 Total payouts made: 413,793 Value of all P2Pool payouts: BTC72,387.50651560 Value of all p2pool miner earnings in dollars @ $650 =
$47,051,879.24
That is pretty cool if you ask me
