I'm debating on moving ahead and just asking him to ship my miners, if they are fully functional with low hardware errors, I don't see a reason to have to reprogram the firmware.
Should there be any reason to wait?

It looks like the only thing missing now is the i2c functionality to allow you to chain the miners together and only use 1 usb cable. If you don't mind connecting each miner to its own usb port I don't know what else you'd be missing.

Emailed steamboat to ship them without USB boot loader, less than 12 hrs later I get shipping confirmation, flashing the boot loader later seems easy with a pickit, I'd suggest anyone else to just have them shipped.

Have 32 of my 68 Klondikes hashing, still working some of the bugs out of our set up.
I don't have them up to full speed yet.
Seems like I only have 1 bad one out of 32.

Did you get any kind of response from him other than the shipping confirmation? I haven't been able to get a response from him by e-mail or through the forum. What e-mail address did you use?
Do they ship with the latest firmware or what the pics were originally flashed with before the boards went to production?

They are already mining over 6GH/s, I doubt new firmware will make them fast enough to compensate for the lost time waiting. Am I missing something?

Assembly refunds......
I paid for hosting before I got my chips refunded. Can't believe even if I didn't they wouldn't be hashing at the moment

Steamboat is up to his old tricks it seems, leaving us in the dark.
STEAMBOAT: How about an update on the status the the hosting for those that are asking. And more importantly to me personally, WHEN can we finally get to assembly refunds?
And what about those poor souls still waiting for a USB boot loader to have their miners shipped? I think you owe it to them to spell it out options regarding the USB boot loader. There is clearly some question about it's importance, as well as the feasibility if implementing it in the time frame allotted. (My personal opinion is that NO ONE should wait for a PIC16 USB boot loader to be written... I'm just saying.)
Great job shipping miners. And of course I realize you are terminally busy. But can we please have an answer to vital questions?
Pretty please?

You need to fire off an e-mail to Steamboat (asicbuy at gmail.com) and ask to have your miners shipped without the usb boot loader in order to get them asap.

Does that mean you think he wont offer the hosting option? - or that its just wasting a load of hashing time waiting for some kind of optimum setup? Its quite crazy to not be given an update and to receive no reply from emails sent .

But frankly the TTL of these miners are near the end, so personally I'd go with getting them in hand asap and get them hasing.

Has anyone been able to get a reply from steamboat? Most people just report things shipping or refunds showing up. Has anyone actually received a reply to a question from him?

It never ceases to amaze me how people aren't able to make decisions for themselves without having every question in the universe answered first. Sometimes you have to make decisions without having all the bases covered, and you need to trust yourself that you can and will make as correct a decision as you can. It may be because I've been in mangament several times in various companies that I am able to take a limited set of data and make the most out of it. This thread is now 183 pages. If you're not able to, based on the information herein, to make a semi-proper decision foryourself without having additional questions answered... pheewweeey... There is no hand holding in the investment business. Maybe you shouldn't have done it. Maybe you didn't understand what you were getting into, who's to blame? I'm of the opinion that ultimately, whatever crap happens to me based on something I decided to get into, is my own fault. This makes me act and decide things in a certain way down the line, things that hopefully rectifies a shitty situation for myself somewhat. I certainly knew what I was getting into, and I knew it was a gamble... isn't it that which made the project so exciting to follow? The way I see it; Two options were laid out. One, get the miner now with the firmware as-is (but fixed hw error), or wait for usb boot loader (which I personally think is impossible to get working). I went with as is, because I have the knowledge and skill(?) to get hold of and use a PicKit3 to reprogram the pic should it become necessary (ie the usb bootloader is working and there are additional optimizations available). Sorry if this comes across harsh and or rude or something... I just think it's the way it is at the moment

It's the information that isn't in this thread we need answers to. If I ask to have my stuff shipped will anyone even read the message? All of my other messages have been ignored. I have received no replies from steamboat since he took my money. I was never offered a refund. I have received no offer to have my hardware shipped.
I log on here to find out my orders were supposed to be refunded already and that other people are getting emails from steamboat. I've asked repeatedly how to get in touch with him because everything I've sent to date has been ignored.

Send steamboat an email with a signed message from the address you used to send payment. Refunds are long gone, but that might get his attention.

Thanks Steamboat, I'm Rocking now Nice packing ... Oh Yeah! Received mine and have a few of them up-and-running. - Are you using the cgminer-nogpu.exe Con put up in his temp directory ? - Have you noticed that they only become recognized by the system when you unplug and then replug in the fan ? Read: When you first boot up the system and run CGMiner, it doesn't reliably pick up all of the K16's unless you replug the fans ?

So basically you're saying the e-mail adress you used to order with is not under your control or does not exist, or you don't check it anymore? Mine were shipped within 24 hours of sending SB a mail on his asicbuy at gmail.com account asking him to send them. He also responded to a couple questions I had in the same e-mail, so... idk Do as the guy above suggests, send a signed message.

Hey Xian01,put a fan on the backside,it helps alot BTW,I split a 4 pin molex to run all my fans,I don't use the miners fan header.
