Because they believe about the potential of bitcoin's growth in terms of its value and through long term holding they believe they could reap the benefits of investing to bitcoins when it reach its highest market value. Holding is always a strategy in every investments but somehow risky so you may want to set a certain goal when to sell or hold your coins.

Just expect the belief that bitcoin will have a high price in the future. be patient

Actually as you said that they are looking for high price in future because they believe that bitcoin having good market and having quality to take over there invest income into bitcoin. Bitcoin is good for long term investment. Bitcoin is not created just for pump and dump. I believe Bitcoin will have a great future in the upcoming years. We just have to hold on.
