people hold bitcoin because they believe bitcoin is very good to invest, so they keep it until the price they want is reached, if bitcoin price has been achieved according to what they want, the price is they will release bitcoin to sell.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

It's a simple case similar to monopoly. They hope to own as much before the supply runs out, that way when deflation happens, they'd be owning a great deal of value in the end.  |

Because the quality of bitcoin is increasing day by day. In the last few years, the quality of Bitcoin has increased manifold. Keeping it stored will increase prices a couple of years later. And then you can leave it at a good price.

People already witnessed the growth of bitcoin since it started, so I think that's one of the compelling reason why a lot of people are holding bitcoin. Bitcoin grew from a scratch to a thousand dollar worth each. So, if you bought thousands of bitcoin when it first started and held it till now, you would've been sitting in millions of dollars. |

People tend to hold their bitcoin because of their own reasoning of still holding into it even if bitcoin shows continuous dump on the recent times that makes people panic. In my own reasoning, I tend to still hold into bitcoin because I do believe and trust bitcoin on its capabilty to regain its loss which is beneficial to me since the pump is much higher than the usual I do have. Also I do not want the same thing to happen to me again in which I regret of transferring my money into other accounts instead of holding it. So I decided to just keep on holding it since I have already seen what it takes when you hold into it and I beg same thing applies on other people |

Alphabetically or chronogically, there are many answers to your questions. But I think the best answers of that why the people are investing in the bitcoin, are on the price charts. Despite the big loses in the past, bitcoin have made really good comebacks and I think its future is bright. |

People are holding bitcoins because they have faith in its potential and they have a feeling that bitcoin can make them super rich in future as if you look at the history of bitcoins then you will clearly notice that price has always gone in higher direction since its inception and since the beginning of this year we have seen price moving in positive direction so people have faith that it will go much higher in next few years.

They have a good reason for holding their bitcoin. It is because they know that the value of bitcoin will continue to increase everyday. The more people who are getting into bitcoin, the more possibility that the value of bitcoin will increase. It just depends on the growth of the market. People who are holding their bitcoins must be a risk taker.

People are holding Bitcoin because they believe in it. They believe that it will continue to have value forever actually. This belief comes from the facts that it's better than fiat money and gold so it's easy to love BTC.

I think people are really holding their Bitcoins because they believe in it and people also trust the bitcoin. They believe that it will continue to have a high value and its forever actually. This belief also came from the fact that it's better than a fiat money and gold. That is why, it's easy to handle bitcoin. |

Well, it's both because people believe that BTC value will keep surging higher and higher, and... because of today's value.
Think about this: most of the BTC holders bought them last year, or maybe a couple years before then. Back then, it was worth between 1 and 100$. Anyway, all theses people are at least 50 times richer than before. However, it's not a smart move to withdraw everything, mostly because the state they live in will probable tax the hell out of them.
So, they can choose between: hold and wait 'till Bitcoin becomes a legal mean of payment, and probably have even more wealth, and... withdraw today and pay taxes on it.
To this day, people just use the bare minimum of their assets to cover any risk of bankruptcy. It's just not worth to change it for fiat money. Fiat is dead
