Hi Everyone,
Things are progressing, and after a bumpy start, it's time to do some cleanup before we can move forward.
First things first, I'd like to announce that I have appointed Novacadian as the new HR (Human Resources) Administrator.
The duties for the HR admin are as follows:
I've updated the HR page to now include 4 columns for duties. This is a work in progress, and we can adjust it for better information flow, but for now it'll do. Novacadian will do his best to flesh this page out accurately, which means he will be contacting everyone on the list to see who is still interested in being a devcoin administrator, and more specifically, what their duties entail. If people do not respond in a timely manner (a week after this post and/or a week after nova contacts them, whichever is later), it will be assumed they are no longer interested. Feel free to either reply here or in a pm to novacadian regarding your intent, and more details about your duties.
He will then give me recommendations on who should be removed from the admin list.
Secondly, we have to discuss admin payments and the general malaise of the community. Devtome has had a good run, but didn't quite work out as economically as UTB had predicted. We can't change the existing payment structure, but there are other solutions we will explore.
UTB had a rule that administration would at most take 15% of the pool, but for the time being, I'm removing that limit based on the fact that devcoin market capital has been eroded to almost nothing. What's left will be used to restructure what we have, so we can build a team to get this coin moving again. Nothing has changed in its mission, and if you believe in the mission, you're still very much welcome to be a part of it.
UTB has also requested that we keep the division proposal out of the account files on github, which means we will implement it via the ongoing file that I control. It won't be able calculate the ratios perfectly, because it will be based on estimations, but it will be much better than what we have now. Once we've reorganized our structure, we will have regular meetings on irc for planning purposes. One of the difficulties in the handover was that no one really knew what anyone else was doing except for UTB, and I don't think that's the most efficient way of doing things, as knowledge is too centralized. By getting more people involved, we can break down many barriers and make things smoother.
My proposal for admin pay is that each admin task in the HR table can have up to four duties, each worth 1 share per round. Each duty is specific and must be unique from the others, but related to the title. As an example, the duties I listed for the HR admin above can be considered four separate jobs, so novacadian would receive 4 shares for that duty under the new payment scheme.
If this is generally acceptable to everyone, we will implement it this round, and will last at least until the division implementation, where we revisit it and either continue or fall back to the original model. If you have anything to say about it, now's the time.
I have posted this on both official threads to maximize viewing.
