As marketing admin, I am here and ready to do a good Devcoin press release as soon as the project has some good news Wink Even with the low price of DVC right now we can afford a good press release.

I am not sure whether now is the best time or if I should just do a "bigger" one with more maximum effect when Devcoin is relaunched. It seems everything is in transition, and it might not be the best time for a big advertising campaign right now, especially if it is true that new writers cannot be added to Devtome etc at the moment, but I am ready to do it when the community agrees.

Yeah pause and save for the moment. Advertising a broken system isn't going to help us in the long run.

Just a sidenote, the domain on which I host the business_bounty_xx.csv files recently expired.  As there have been no new bounties, I have not made any files, but if it is required I can start hosting them on another domain.  (Not sure if business_bounty is still needed with the new division changes)

rehost it if you can, sid, and pm UTB with the new domain/link. He'll have to change it on the accounting files.

The persistance in following a disastrous line, it will lead DVC to total disaster. What a waste.

Perhaps not looking at it from an investor, your pessimistic one liners are over my head. To me DVC is, and will continue to be, a great community with a great cause. If the value is lower then bounties will need a larger share. Seems easy enough. That is what moves me and keeps my interest in the project. Currently two nice SMF Projects are being planned. They should help to deal with a relatively small yet resource intense spamming network. The finished project would be open source and available to the SMF Community in a Module. That sounds great to me and a positive thing for the Forum Community. Not just ours but potentially all SMF sites.

For those that are not moved by such concepts nor touched by something like the story found in DevTome at http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=how_i_spent_my_devcoins_in_africa then one might consider BBQ Coins. They had a moment in the sun and then sat idle for a year falling into penny stock. One friend had to have two machines talking to each other to keep the chain alive at some points yet collected a massive amount during the fallow year period. Then interest came back and my friend made a killing.

My feeling is that the only better time to buy DVCs is if they were 4 shatoshi cheaper.

Unfortunately it is hard to resist the conclusion that the point of total disaster has already been reached.

It will be interesting to see what happens when one DVC is not even regarded as being worth one satoshi. For my money, we're already there.

Hopefully creative ideas come to the fore and more positive times lie ahead.

is devcoin still in merged mining with bitcoin? can't believe it went so low to have a market cap below 100k. this could have been the doge of bitcoin if properly developed along with some marketing. time to reorganize and relaunch? what we could do with devcoin that hasn't been done yet. who's still actively involved? the devcoin forum looks dead. Seems that here at least something has been discussed since beginning of 2015 thanks to hunterbounter update.

How do I fix this:

Number of pages in getCommonOutputByText: 9
Insufficient identical pages in getCommonOutputByText.
Warning, writeFileText in receiver.h won't write the file:
/home/simple/.devcoin/receiver/receiver_44.csv
because the text is blank.

Good to hear. There's rumours around that Devcoin has ceased to be operational, glad that's not the case.

Hi Everyone,

Things are progressing, and after a bumpy start, it's time to do some cleanup before we can move forward.

First things first, I'd like to announce that I have appointed Novacadian as the new HR (Human Resources) Administrator.

The duties for the HR admin are as follows:

I've updated the HR page to now include 4 columns for duties. This is a work in progress, and we can adjust it for better information flow, but for now it'll do. Novacadian will do his best to flesh this page out accurately, which means he will be contacting everyone on the list to see who is still interested in being a devcoin administrator, and more specifically, what their duties entail. If people do not respond in a timely manner (a week after this post and/or a week after nova contacts them, whichever is later), it will be assumed they are no longer interested. Feel free to either reply here or in a pm to novacadian regarding your intent, and more details about your duties.

He will then give me recommendations on who should be removed from the admin list.

Secondly, we have to discuss admin payments and the general malaise of the community. Devtome has had a good run, but didn't quite work out as economically as UTB had predicted. We can't change the existing payment structure, but there are other solutions we will explore.

UTB had a rule that administration would at most take 15% of the pool, but for the time being, I'm removing that limit based on the fact that devcoin market capital has been eroded to almost nothing. What's left will be used to restructure what we have, so we can build a team to get this coin moving again. Nothing has changed in its mission, and if you believe in the mission, you're still very much welcome to be a part of it.

UTB has also requested that we keep the division proposal out of the account files on github, which means we will implement it via the ongoing file that I control. It won't be able calculate the ratios perfectly, because it will be based on estimations, but it will be much better than what we have now. Once we've reorganized our structure, we will have regular meetings on irc for planning purposes. One of the difficulties in the handover was that no one really knew what anyone else was doing except for UTB, and I don't think that's the most efficient way of doing things, as knowledge is too centralized. By getting more people involved, we can break down many barriers and make things smoother.

My proposal for admin pay is that each admin task in the HR table can have up to four duties, each worth 1 share per round. Each duty is specific and must be unique from the others, but related to the title. As an example, the duties I listed for the HR admin above can be considered four separate jobs, so novacadian would receive 4 shares for that duty under the new payment scheme.

If this is generally acceptable to everyone, we will implement it this round, and will last at least until the division implementation, where we revisit it and either continue or fall back to the original model. If you have anything to say about it, now's the time.

I have posted this on both official threads to maximize viewing.

A thanks to Hunterbunter for his confidence in appointing me HR Admin. Over the next few days I shall be reaching out to the admins of the Devcoin Human Resources page to get feedback as to how their position is going and to ask if there is anything that could be done to help in their duties.
