I'm sure that bitcoin will leave the first place from the podium, but I'm not sure that this will be an ethereum. Yes, I really like the ethereum, but the world of crypto currency is not very constant.

Its almost impossible for etherium to overtake the bitcoin, it will not happen i think, and bitcoin will still be above in between all the coins. Ethium may have some different potential of bitcoin but not enough to overtake the mother coin. Though etherium may get high price year this but can not get bitcoin.Bitcoin prices may be easily fickle but like the graphics, it has a unique pattern that may get higher in the near future. Smiley

It is not gonna happen as for me.  Even my dad,  who doesn't know what  PayPal is,  asked me about what btc  was the other day. It is too popular to be overtaken by eth ever.

Dont think it will happen because of its mass scale adoption acros the world and pretty much everyone heard about it.Yes bitcoin have problems with transaction fees and time of it but eth isnt really much better, thing that people are forgeting that btc isnt over with improvment for example lighting network should be up this year for btc

And I think that this year the ETH will bypass bitcoin. Yes, bitcoin is more famous, but now the information era and the last months the only thing people hear about bitcoin is its high volatility and technical problems. I do not think that this is a good advertisement. And the introduction of lightning still remains no more as a project.

My guess is some other coin will surpass both of them as they now both have the same problems -high fees and slow network. I would say ETH is winning the slow race so the top position is opened to any coin that really can scale.
The lighting network to my understanding is a paid service. I am keen to see how this works for BTC with customers having to pay the BTC Network charge (non negotiable) and the Lightening network fees (a profit making business)

As it is today neither can be realistically used to pay for coffee.

Ethereum is not as popular as bitcoin now and will never so there is almost 0% of chance to overtake of bitcoin by ethereum. Bitcoin is very high leveled coin though ethereum is also a useful alt too. Because of its benefit and facilities people of all over the world like bitcoin. Ethereum doesn't give us as much benfit as bitcoin. The price of both of these coins are different by miles though we can put bitcoin at 1st position and ethereum at 2nd. People invests into ethereum or any other alts who can not afford to invest into bitcoin. Bitcoin will never loose its current position very soon so if if there is a little bit of chance to happen it then you have to wait for a long time.

The trend is clear; BTC's dominance is fading...

BTC will rule for a long time but I wouldn't bet it will rule forever!

Ethereum is also a popular coin and it has a good life but when comparing bitcoin and ethereum bitcoin comes first and stands tall, and it has been already proved by its pump in the price from the last one year, so it would be challenging or impossible for ethereum to overtake the bitcoin.

Bitcoin loses its leading position. This is evident from the level of capitalization of the leading coins and their rate. I think this will not happen soon. But it's a matter of time

I disagree with you. Bitcoin will always be the leader. And now they are developing the refining of this coin and reducing the commission. I think that soon bitcoin will go up again.

It definitely will. It's just a matter of time. Ethereum is more technically advanced crypto: faster, smaller transaction fees and smart contract support. Moreover, it's also a platform for other services. Thus I'm sure that ethers are somewhat undervalued and will grow over the next couple years catching up with Bitcoin that will slowly go down in price.

In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.

Where is your source? If this is just a speculation or a prediction, then what you are saying is not completely sure. Do not give hoax to people. Ethereum will not overtake Bitcoin this year or in the next years. The price of Ethereum is increasing slowly. And, the difference between their prices is so huge.

yes no, it's unlikely that the bitcoyne has firmly taken his place, and he is in the greatest attention, so that he is unlikely to fall to such a level that it would be overtaken by the enfurium

according to my analysis for then the ETH exchange rate will not exceed the BTC price, as it is proven from the beginning BTC has the highest rank of any coin in any exchange market.
Even if the price of ETH will surpass BTC it will take a very long time and through a very long process.

Hello boohoo....I don't think Ethereum will overtake bitcoin. Just because of the pump last time you thought that eth will overtake bitcoin? I don't think so. Bitcoin's market cap is growing. But since there was a correction, it will slow down.

I agree with anyone who says that etherium can replace bitcoin, I think etherium is very popular lately, especially with its rapidly increasing price, and most importantly etherium is also a payment platform for many ico projects
