I think we will se Ethereum as number 1 on coinmarket (just like we saw Ripple as second for a couple of days) but how long will it last is the question.

I don't think so for Etherium to pass Bitcoin in as number 1 in coinmarketcap. Erherium may have a future but not to take over bitcoin. Bitcoin will always stay at his throne. He is the king of crypto death is the only way for Bitcoin to give his crown away. Will bitcoin die? No, not this year, not in the coming years.

I have the same thoughts with you. ethereum would not be able to compete with bitcoin because bitcoin is now one of the strongest cryptocurrency kings. so every year eth will not be able to overtake bitcoin. |

I dont think it will be overtaking it in the next year.
Maybe it could in the future but not any time soon.
ETH i mostly used for ICO's now.

the development of ethereum is currently very good, especially when it is getting popular because ico very much use ethereum. but now ethereum can not overtake bitcoin, because it takes a long time to be able to compete with bitcoin

I think it is possbile that Ethereum to overtake Bitcoin but if this gonna happen I am sure that it ll not be long time, throne of bitcoin will be again..
I agree, under certain circumstances, this can happen. Now no one can predict the development of events in the crypto currency market, anything is possible. |

Yeah it can be because of big supply of coins of ethereum, we cant know how much coin will be maximum from ethereum, so it is possible to overtake btc.

If Ethereum will keep grwoing in 2018 in this form, I am sure it ll overtake bitcoin. But I am sure also bitcoin will start to grow like never before this year, I think 1.Btc & 2. Eth

now ethereum price is decreasing equally to bitcoin there is no much difference both are having same difference. for example both are having difference between 14% to 16% range. so ethereum will not overtake the bitcoin.

I believe that it is bound to happen but not anytime soon, I strongly see ethereum as bitcoin's successor and its been quite some time that ethereum has managed to maintain its position in the market versus all other prospecting altcoins so I wouldn't be surprised to see ethereum one day at the top of the market charts. |

possibility is there, etherium has a team to develop its core unlike bitcoin, it will only develop through forks but etherium doesnt need that. but it could also be some other coin out there that can help us realistically for our future,like a real significant use.

But the difference in capitalization is reduced. Previously, bitcoin was unquestionable number one, and now a small increase in ETH and a small drop on bitcoin will make the number one ETH. |

maybe as a new person who knows bitcoin like me, I really want that the value of ETH equal to BTC or even exceed. but maybe that's very difficult because it seems like bitcoin will always be number one.

it is still depend on the movement of the price if bitcoin will continue dropping its price maybe it is clear that eth can overtake the bitcoin but as we know when bitcoin will comeback it will double or triple its current price so it its hard for eth to lead the crypto world when it terms of the value . |

Bitcoin is still the number one crypto currency that exists in the world and I don't think so that ethereum will surpass it's level as being the number one for this year. Bitcoin is the foundation of everything that follows by other altcoins. It may achieve in the future if they will develop and surpass bitcoin's features and as of now those features are not yet met by ethereum. |
