The Gridcoin team is also climbing rapidly in the BOINC stats (separate from the WCG stats): http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/detail/118094994

Lots of links to click on there if you're into stats.

There's even a little summary you could use in a sig or on your own site if you wanted: http://boincstats.com/signature/-1/team/118094994/sig.png

Strange, this link shows my Credits/day to be 5,625 and my average credits to be 3,925 but my gridcoin client only reports ~2,500 average credits...

The BOINC stats will show your "lifetime" credits, including any time you were in BOINC but before you joined Gridcoin, plus any time spent on machines that earn BOINC credit but not Gridcoin credit (BOINC running but not Gridcoin, for instance). That kind of thing may account for the differences you're getting.

Our little team is definitely having an effect: "Accumulated more credit than % of all BOINC combined Teams    90.95140%"

Also "Highest World position ever    9,066 at 2014-01-11" (out of about 100,000 teams) but the recent credit trend stat is even better "BOINC World position based on RAC    563 out of 99,696".

The competition gets harder closer to the top, but we're off to a great start.

Weird. I don't see myself there. But I definitely joined. I had to leave Ripple to do it.

It shows several members doing that, but I don't see you. Did you use the same user name? http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/detail/118094994/memberMovement

If you Google "boinc someusername" you can usually get a person's stats, but I get no hits for "boinc inrideo".

Are you using "BAM!", the BOINC account manager? If not, that could explain it. It's handy (not perfect) if you have several BOINC projects active, as it lets you manage them all from one place rather than going to each project site separately. If you're only using one or two BOINC projects, especially the WCG, it may not be worth the bother.

The teams @ the top are gonna be hard to beat. We gonna need a lot more members.

On the cryptocointalk thread it was stated that you'd have to pick one or the other.
No, it was stated you would have to make cognizent choice to enable cpu mining in the config file.
But you can actually be a gpu miner + cpu miner at the same time.
Aysyr suggested restricting cpu miners from the gpu pool so as to not disturb the leaderboard; then I said correct, since these are two separate pools cpu miners wont disturb the leaderboard Smiley

Thanks,
Grid

LOL, I know we have a lot of rules as is (I promise to rewrite the original manual some-day) but to add another one Bob,
the client disregards any projects that havent been worked on for over 3 days-- that might be the discrepency.  If you are working a project and you click update it will refresh the last task completed time, which could kick it back in - BTW only needed if you stop a project or abandon it somehow.

Thanks!

Rob H.

I believe he is talking about Alan Turing from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Turing

Edit - looks like it was answered - I need to refresh my page more often Wink

New Version Available - fixes the leaderboard partial sync and fixes the factors
1.1.5.2/61/7.4:
* Better SQL Syncing
* The leaderboard updates automatically once an hour or when out of sync
* SQL Sync progress bar is now in the Query Analyzer to show new users how far before SQL is synced
* Leaderboard factors are now corrected
* Delete debug2.txt as this version is more concise, if you have any sql syncing issues delete the data\sql folder and start over.
* Just sent a followup to google webmaster tools dept querying about cgminer again; no reply to the last email.

Good luck,
Rob H.

Ah, in BOINC it shows me on the WCG team, but on BOINC stats I'm not allied with any teams. So I guess I need to do something with BOINC stats.

Weird. I don't see myself there. But I definitely joined. I had to leave Ripple to do it.

When pool mining is on, QT wallet takes too much CPU (~25%). How do I fix it? If I close the wallet, the miner closes too Sad

Also, tell me please how do you update Gridcoin client? Does it update automatically or I have to download the .msi each update?

Thanks in advance.

To upgrade the client without reinstalling the .msi just open the client, click on "help" -> "debug window" then on the opened window select the "console" tab and there type "upgrade".
that's the right process, if the client receives an upgrade that is necessary to install trough a new .msi install, devs will tell us =)

i got an error doing the upgrade method mentioned: An exception occurred during Webclient request.

So i'll have to stick to the old way of upgrading for the time being.

You have to run the wallet as Administrator in order to upgrade trough the upgrade function.
