Ok, its ashame GRC isn't on the exchange yet though. Lets hope they follow through with it. Can you give me any links on this info?

just check with Rob, I remembered he posted either here or gridcoin forum. let us hope the best for GRC.

Anyway, I believe GRC and any coins similar to GRC who have an actual value and benefit the human and our daily lives in the year 2014. It should be the trend of cryptocurrencies' future.

this seems better than any scam-dump-coin i saw lately
i like the ripple idea and computingforgood (i run it since i'v found out about it)
but gridcoin is decentralized

The only reason most of these other alts are more popular is because people just want to mine as early as possible and dump and cash out. It is all about who gets in earliest. These people do no care about the coin or its future, it is just a pump and dump. In Gridcoin everyone has a chance to mine and there are no large pools that raise the difficulty for everyone and just kill everything.

If you wan to raise awareness about Gridcoin post on other forums. that is the best way to spread awareness and this coin and let people see it for what it really is.

why isn't GRC more popular that Earthcoin>?

I think you need cgminer for linux.

https://coinaxis.com/index.php/tutorials/entry/how-to-configure-linux-and-build-cgminer-for-bitcoin-and-litecoin

so... can't mine this on Linux ?

You have to run the wallet as Administrator in order to upgrade trough the upgrade function.

Thanks that did it for me.

Sorry you can only run the wallet on linux and cant mine.

We had a paid dev up til this week that almost has it finished; but there is a major cpu mining piece missing and our dev quit.

We'll probably have a new dev within 5 months; if not Ill finish the linux side myself possibly before the SQL ledger.

Thanks,
Grid
PS Try running windows in a virtual machine.

PS II: It did mine when we first released but since then with the new security additions, linux side lost mining compatibility.

it seems some miners with more than 150M hast rates want to join GRC. check the hash rate tomorrow.

just start mining now, otherwise, it will be too late.

yes, I am sure. some big LTC miners have 700M hash rates. That is quite normal.

on the other hand, if they join with full power, it will destroy GRC. I try to persuade them not to use full power at the moment. Otherwise, I won't be able to mine anything as well.

Up to 49 hours without a coin now. Not sure why. Nothing's changed. I've restarted, rebooted. Guess I'll rebuild the block chain next.

150 kh/second, poolmining=true, boinc average daily = 7000+

I was trickling in a pretty regular amount daily but it just seems to have up and died on me.

Nah, it's only 2.11. That's lower than it was at other times last week.

My 290X appears to have been lost by the post office. Not pleased about that. I've been trying to get a new card since November. First NewEgg lost my order, and now Canada Post when a friend picked up the card and shipped it instead.

So when i have my boinc utilization at 100%, my hashrate drops about 20%. If its around 50% then my hashrate is back to normal.

So having 100% cpu utilization takes away some hashing power.

Didn't know that and i thought maybe someone else would find this info useful.
