Here is the linux tut: http://gridcoin.us/download/InstallingGridcoinQTOnLinuxAndMac.txt

Hello I need some help. I've just finally installed gridcoin-qt onto my Ubuntu setup. This is the first time using Ubuntu and Wine. My question is, how do I back up my wallet? Using Wine, I can't seem to find how to look into the directories. Also having the 0 blockchain connections but apparently I just have to update my config file?

The thing is at the moment my config file just says 'os=linux' as said in the instructions, but now I read that I must add nodes? Does this come before the os=linux? after? I just need the working config file as I'm getting 0 connections.
Also still no wiser on how to find my wallet so I can back it up.

Hi everyone,

The reason GRC is still frozen on Poloniex is that there is a shortage of GRC in the wallet. This is because someone deposited a bunch of GRC on the wrong fork, sold it, and withdrew. They took care to avoid detection, depositing in small amounts, selling in bursts over a period of time, and converting the profits to three different coins before withdrawing in small amounts.

I was hoping to get the developer's input on this, and possibly an offer of assistance, but he has been unresponsive for days, and this needs to be dealt with. I'm going to need to roll back some of the trades the person made. Not all, but a few. I have a special rainy day fund that will just about cover the cost of this. The whole thing should be resolved soon, and GRC will resume, fully solvent.

deleted all installations of gridcoin downloaded what you said and  installed looks like its missing the .0.0.7 for version, its version 2 but not 7.

Try using the upgrade command from the console. That worked for me every time. Also from this version onwards auto upgrading is enabled!

Good luck

Tried that, not sure if others are using windows 8.1, but when i type that even running as admin I immediately get "Gridcoin has stopped working"

All I want is for this damn thing to sync so I can try and get a user their 9600GRC that aren't being confirmed in the chain.  Sorry but this coin is a mess Sad

Thank you, I'll give that a try. I feel like I'm just tying any old commands into the terminal to get things to work ^^.

Can anyone give me an idea of the BTC/scrypt MH-equivalent when mining Gridcoin?  If profit is even close to mining other coins, I would love for my GPUs to be doing something to help humanity in addition to making my house uncomfortably warm.

how much is your hashrate?

anyways, the price is really low right now, but it will grow (X4 at least) soon i suppose.

Newest version is 2.1.0.7!!!
What version does getinfo display for you on 2.1.0.7? I have installed the wallet from the github gridcoin-master and it displays version 2000500 for me, added all the nodes I could find here but it still wont connect.

Can you go to help -> debug window -> console tab -> use the "getinfo" command and tell me the top 3 results?

I got this:
{
    "version" : 2000500,
    "protocolversion" : 100001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,

Gotcha, i'll take more time over my posts and try to not come off as much of a douche.
Yeah, i guess we've surpassed the window of opportunity for rolling back the network, no worries :/

Hi Customminer,

I really appreciate you're not taking it personally, thanks.

At the end we all want the same thing and we need to work together. Thanks for geting involved!

I'll be frank.
At it's current all time low of 0.000019, i find it's tripple the proifitability than ltc.
Seriously.

edit:
FYI Guys, i've created 5 super seed nodes for the gridcoin payment network and created a guide at the same time.

Check the thread out Smiley https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/9199-gridcoin-supernodes/

Hi,

I'm having the same numbers 3-4 times profitability of Litecoin. When the price was at 0.0001 the profitability must've been around 20x of Litecoin...we'll get back to that price soon enough Wink

Thanks for setting up the nodes! Great job!

Andrew.

my topic that says Boinc is gonna find the Aliens !!!!

but seriously though if there is a massive boost in hash power and people adopt this coin in big numbers
i could imagine that would be a huge boost to the computing power for scientific applications like used in the SETI project.
what ya guys think ?

Once the new cpu mining client is released maybe that can actually happen.
