Klondike bar my power source is antec earthwatts 650w I bought used....mabye its the problem and is it my router up default gateway to put in the default gateway for the miner or is it the router ip?

ok - so your network IS 192.168.2.1 thats good - did you clear the ipv4broadcast box and leave it blank?

your PSU could be an issue if the PCIe cables both run on the same 38A rail (there are 2 38A rails) - but it seems like there are a few ae-650W devices in various configurations of rails and efficiencies (1 type actually has 3 12V rails)

unplug power to the secondary blade and disconnect the data cable from the blade also (so that your unit is only going to run with one blade) and try booting up like that. I dont think its the issue, since power problems typically show up once the unit is hashing but is either rebooting randomly or hashing slowly.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Hey Folks,

Can someone please do me a favour? I'm on a restricted computer for the next eight or nine hours, and I can get to direct links, but not main domains, oddly enough.

I have the Corsair CX600. Can someone please post a direct link, on either Amazon or Newegg, to the PCI-e extenders I need to cut to power S1s? I would really appreciate it.

the newer models all have pci-e ports. Only units bought in december/january did not have those

Sometimes the guys that create these things impress the hell out of me. Other times, they just annoy the hell out of me. I'm sure many of you know that feeling, heh.

This time, I'm impressed. Thanks, Klondike.

just bought a new 850w psu same thing, why is there no lan connection in the ipconfig? tried the one blade also

the green led's don't light up either ,sometimes if I disconnect the controller the led on right side board if looking at fan directly will light up?

Cooling questions folks:

Given my limited knowledge of thermodynamics, does anyone have some insight on second fan placement? If they are of differing RPM, I would assume that you want the faster one blowing out of the end of the machine, thereby pulling slower fan air and environmental air through the machine as smoothly as possible?

Any other setup (the reverse of the above, each fan blowing inward) seems like it would create turbulence and not cool very effectively. I'm wading through this thread now, if anyone has any specific links to posts.

Thanks again.

there is a lot of openings for loss of air pressure across the unit. the second fan help ensure airflow at the exit side that may otherwise go out the top or bottom edges.  secondary fan is not really necessary IMO unless you really want to try and bring down temps and noise ever-so-slightly

If you want to reduce dust inside the miner, you could put an air filter at the intake and run at slight positive pressure (meaning slower or no outtake).

Also, does anybody know how to reduce the fanspeed a bit? It's quite loud.

Somebody already posted it, but you don't need to cut anything in later models. The bitcointalk dogie and sushi reviews were not updated. Watch youtube video (Jeremy) to see. Plug-and-play!

The simplest solution is to decrease your ambient temperature (if you set up room temp at 20C/72F, fans would quiet a lot).
I played with three different fans and they all resulted in more errors in my case.
That said, ants need their own room/basement/attic. Being in the same room, they will give you a headache after a day or two  Wink

Just upgraded to the new firmware https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1 and I am getting this error under "Miner Configuration" :

Quote
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute cbi dispatcher target for entry '/admin/status/miner'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/cbi.lua:334: Unable to read UCI data: cgminer
stack traceback:
   [C]: in function 'assert'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: in function 'dispatch'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>

How do I fix this?
At a guess, looking at the code there, it couldn't find the /etc/config/cgminer file.
Sounds a little unhappy, maybe redo the firmware again?

Been trying out CGRemote I think it has something to do with the API, as it has showed up on two other miners.

Weird: I also have one miner not responding (cannot log into it) with message:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/sauth.lua:87: Session data invalid!
stack traceback:

   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>

I haven't done any updates. Miner still mines apparently so i hate to switch it off.
Anybody? Should I just reboot it or it is something more serious

What are the acceptable, or rather, max temps for the S1? Mine are 48-49c, which seems to have caused over 6% HW errors, or about 6-7gh/s off of my speed.

Ah OK, it's still mining.
I thought the problem was no mining (i.e. not finding settings could mean no mining)

Any remote API access will of course mean editing the config (/etc/init.d/cgminer) or using the password1 hack.
I've no idea how CGRemote talks to an S1 if it isn't doing API access.

Can anyone help me please?

I got my S1 today and connected it with this 600W PSU.  It had one PCI-Express 6 PIN cable and i was cutting the other 12V and GND cables.

But when I've turned the antminer on, the fan was not moving. I've checked it and tried it on a motherboard and the fan was working. But it did not work on the antminer slots. But other fans were working on the antminer. But those fans were too weak so I've installed a heavy and strong fan which is connected directly to an electric power socket (this fan had even the same size but is for walls).

Then i was setting up the miner via browser. Changed the ip, checked DHCP...everything ok. Connected it with my router (Thomson TG585) and was able to see the connected Antminer on my router page.

But the miner did not start to mine. It was drawing 67 Watt at start and some minutes later 105 Watt. I thought it is a problem with my PSU.

So i've tried it with my 525 Watt Enermax PSU and connected it to the miner with two PCI-Express 6 PIN Cables.
But the same problem. Does not start to mine. But draws 59Watt at start and 101Watt some minutes later. By coincidence i've discovered that the basic fan is working if i connect only the Blade without the controller to the PSU. But does not work reverse.

I've no experience with this and i don't think it is my PSU. Did I miss something or is my Antminer broken? Or is it my PSU?

TL:DR
S1 is not mining. Draws not enough power. Fan is moving only when the PSU is single-connected to the blade without the controller.

I can't find specs for your first PSU, but the second one has 3 12v rails that split the 480w available at 12v, so that could be why you're not getting enough power.  Look under the specifications tab on the link you posted. Ideally you should use a PSU with one rail for 12v with enough power.

Are you using two separate pcie wires or one wire with two connectors?  You should use one dedicated wire for each blade.
