I've been mining utc for a bout a week now and love utc as a coin.. However I think some of you with the idea of mining more profitable coins and then buying utc to help increase its value is great..
I would be happy to switch coins for a bit and dump another coin to buy utc..
I have (2) 280x cards and (3) 270 cards.. can anyone recommend what coin to mine?

changing the POS to a month's time versus a year with a sliding-scaled dividend or interest depending how long it's been staked and how much UTC in wallet for POS, would help dramatically. One setting (size) does not fit all.
ASIC resistance does nothing to promote the coin. So what if only CPU's can mine utc? The feature has same results as other scrypt coins as difficulty goes up, but with only CPU's mining, it hurts the coin even more, especially with the arguement people have "we need more miners". I believe n-factor and difficulty are the one and same, just two different ways of accomplishing the same thing. If an asic were to mine, diff goes up, less coins for all. If a million cpu's mine utc, diff goes up, less coins for all. Same thing, different duck, but they both quack. Either way, more coins = price drops. More buyers = price increase. But buyers need reasons to buy the coin.
More miners is not the answer. Basic supply and demand, 5th grade economics. Have you all been watching the FED's actions for the last 5 years? The attitude: just throw more money at the problem. Did it fix the problem? No, just paused it. It did save the world from financial collapse, but once the FED slowed pumping money into the banks, the economy's reacting negatively again. So by miners throwing more coins into the market, how is that ever going to help the price with the lack of demand? In that respect, this early n-factor crap is good for the coin to slow the production, but its not working.
Twitter, Facebook, promo's and giveaways help keep UTC being talked about, but it's not going to help move the coin where we all want it to be. we are just doing the same damn things every other coin is doing. WHAT CAN WE DO TO GET UTC ITS' UNIQUE-NESS?
Publicity isn't going to help. ACTION WILL HELP. maybe should give some of the premine to the Red Cross or ASPCA or meals on wheels or a million other organizations. Kidding of course, but my idea remains: let's do something with the coin that no one else has AND get merchants, before the other coins beat us to it, then we are out of options.

Do you think MCXNOW is a good exchange to trade UTC? The have been online since may 2013 and have over 30 000 accounts. There volume on max coin is over 300 BTC. I did send them a email a few days ago: mcxnow.exchange@gmail.com to ask what there policies are to accept new coins and with some background info about UTC. I haven’t received a answer yet, lets all let them know how great UTC is and mail or tweet to MCXNOW.

It's a great and fluent exchange, so it would be great if UTC would be added...

A bit of good news . . I have had a brief twitter chat with the creator of Battlecoin which is listed on Cryptsy.
He has told me he never gave any money to Big Vern to get listed on Cryptsy, and managed to get listed after the Battlecoin community bombarded him with messages for 4 months.
There is hope guys! Lets keep a tweeting!! #ultracoin

Yea the MCXNOW traders don't have decent-outlook coins to trade atm, I think they would be happy to invest in UTC if the coin is doing well when it gets listed... There's tons of money on that Exchange, look at Max's richlist, people with 70,000 max for instance.

Alright, so where do we stand on this Facebook promo? Have we all decided on the final specifications and terms regarding the giveaway? I've been experimenting with paid adverts ($20 here and there) and the value is pretty good. We could make the post and then promote it heavily.
Anyways, not going to do it until we are all ready and have confirmed the details.
We have 3000 UTC right now. Good for 600 people at 5 UTC each ATM. It would be good if we could increase this number so we can reach at least 1000. "Proposed" Promotion1. Share the promotion in Facebook to get your free 5 UTC to your wallet. Notes1. Do we need to think about minimizing fake/duplicate users getting it? 2. It needs to have information on where to download the wallet, how to get the address etc. 3. It needs to show any extra bounties we have in order to possible gain extra skilled developers/media etc. 4. It needs to show where they can BUY more. We need to advertise it like it's the next Litecoin/Bitcoin. 5. It needs to show why it's so special in an Apple marketing way. 50x faster etc etc. =p BTW, I really like the idea of a community bounty for various projects. Look at what COINYE community is doing to get an idea of what I mean: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=396068.msg5474652#msg5474652--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [FACEBOOK GIVEAWAY PROMOTION]Let's make this HUGE so it makes headlines in blogs/news/twitter/facebook! I have not donated my 250 UTC yet as I'm waiting for the details to be finalized, but it looks like we're moving in the right direction and I agree with all your points. While I don't want duplicate account redemptions either, that was one of my criteria for donation, it's more paramount that we don't make the process painful. Something to keep in mind. I will have limited input on this after tonight. I am going to be in meetings from 8 AM to 8 PM tomorrow and won't be available. Hopefully we can get this thing rolling by this weekend with at least 5K in the account.
