Seriously, though: Instamine.

Yes, the Instamine is a serious problem for Dash.  It scares away people like Tone Vays (if not the low information religious/greedy types).

But the terrible optics aren't the only issue Dash's instamine causes, as the skewed distribution compounds the problem(s) described here:

Problem with Proof of Stake and “coin voting” in general

The problem with “voting by coins” is that most coins do not vote. This leaves a small fraction of UTXO to actually vote which is not representative and highly volatile since anyone risking to use idle keys to a large stash of coins can dramatically affect the voting outcome.

Most coins are locked up well “under matress” with multisig, time locks and possibly even with HSM-controlled keys. Also, pubkeys to long-term stashes do not want to be exposed from under their hashes in order to be better protected against a QC development in the long term.

In other words, most coins that matter, cannot and will not vote.

This leaves only the least important coins to perform voting. Obviously, the result of such voting will be worthless.

Why are you so afraid of discussing the "Problem with Proof of Stake and “coin voting” in general" article I posted?

It as written by a crypto/security expert (not me), so your attacks on the messenger (me) don't do anything to deflect the message.

Isn't substantial discussion of real issues a welcome relief from the endless DashSpam cheerleading?

off-line masternode voting via trezor solves this problem. next.

Coins have nothing to do with voting.  Nothing at all.
Coins may stay safely locked down and votes can still be cast.
These potential security concerns have been solved long ago.
Thanks to Evan, Dash is three steps ahead.

Hi, found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg12233642#msg12233642

basically make a script and have it run via cron. Works great and keeps your masternode online Smiley

Breaking out?

Nah, liquidity is way low for that. The increase from 145 to 150 was most probably 1 person buying a couple of masternodes. I wouldn't draw such consequences yet.

Breaking out may happen when there are news, like the delivery of 12.1, integration with Lamassu/Shakepay, etc.

Still, I see lot of work happening under the hood, and I'm very optimistic, but delivery is king Smiley

Anyone knows what happened to the BTC38 DASH/CNY market? I know that they wanted to accumulate some Dash first, but quite some time went by now.

Polls order book makes it look exceptionally strong on the bid side, it's almost out of sight!
