I feel very much out of touch with development since the latest rollback. The latest setback changed things, but an updated longer term timeline was not provided. Can we have an updated tentative timeline for future improvements from the dev team? It would be good to have this I think as I feel a bit in the dark.
- How is the masternode payment testing going? - When can we expect masternode payments on main net? - When can we expect further anonimity? - When can we expect removal of 10 DRK darksend limit?
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc3-relaunch-strategy-and-testing.1482/I agree and feel that investors need more information (especially technical info) in order to gauge the current risk of investing. I sold all my holdings during the second fork attempt rollback but have bought back 1/2 of my position after getting the last limited update. I am reluctant to pull the trigger on the other 1/2 until I know more. Evan please remember to keep the investors informed. Thanks! As an investor I would rather have Evan working to get RC3 out as soon as possible than worry about posting minor updates in this ANN thread. It is not like information is not available or scattered about. The current status can be easily inferred by reading the following thread (note this is not the same link as above). https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc3-prelaunch-testing.1523/Thanks the link, it provided a bit more info (I had to crawl this forum to figure out why darkcointalk.org does not load in my browser - SSL issue). I agree with most people here, Evan should be busy coding! In fact the technical innovations in darkcoin are amazing and the primary reason why I bought in. But the business/PR side of darkcoin is a bit of a shambles. It would be great if there were some other folks on the communications team. On another note. Can anybody explain what exactly is meant by "enforcement" of masternode payments, what exactly is it doing and how is it done? It seems glossed over a bit on darkcointalk and I couldn't find the details anywhere. thanks Enforcement "on" means that the network will disregard blocks that are deemed fradualent thus not adding them to the blockchain. This is there to prevent people from tampering with the masternode payments to, for example, pay themselves rather than the elected node. The cause of the unwanted forking to this point was bugs in this enforcement protocol which caused miners to disagree on which blocks should be discarded. Most of the bugs were worked out at the time of the second payment attempt, but a race situation occurred on mainnet (hard to reproduce due to the lack of mining clients testnet) which once again confused the enforcement protocol. This time enforcing "on" or "off" is a binary switch that is controled by the devs (i.e. it can be switched on and off without people needing to update clients or stop masternode payments). At launch the switch will be "off" which means that the network will accept all blocks (thus no danger of forking) and record the blocks it thinks should be rejected in the debug log. Once Evan is certain that the log only shows blocks that are actually supposed to be rejected and concludes that the enforcement system is bug free -- he will flip the switch to "on". In short, payments to masternodes can countinue while the enforcing system is vetted on mainnet via the debug log -- and once things are working correctly the enforcement system will be brought online. On the off-chance there is a problem, the system can be once again turned off, debugged, and patched all without stopping payments (obviously a patch would require people to update clients). Hope that explains it.

Can I ask why you're not tolerate?
Because you're acting like a troll. If your not a troll, stop talking about other coins here. I talk DRK in other places. I've never encounter such a rebuffed. The others can solve this task "anonimity" before DRK devs tests finishing. I'm just trying to draw attention to it. Almost all of my investment DRK. You how you can tell me troll? I've looked through your history. You only "talk DRK in other places" to FUD it, like these gems from a month ago... Let's finish fiasco DRK all together.. I'm sure as. DRKs death takes only 3 days.
How's that going? Apparently your effectiveness & prediction skills suck as bad as your trolling.

So... basically now masternode payments can be implemented via soft fork instead of hard fork? Any potential problems will affect only the masternode operators, and will not affect normal transactions, mining, the network in general? The enforcement switch will essentially create a hard fork for us, no need to update clients, and only once everything is working properly? If so - brilliant!

i just hope all the trolls that are being paid to troll here are being paid in DRK .. that way they will get some real value for their effort Nope, I can guarantee you the tools are being paid in whatever shitcoin they are spouting about. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and these are the ones the shitcoin devs are employing. If they spent the same amount of time actually trying to develop something instead of organising armies of gibbering dunces, they might actually get somewhere, but that's not the goal, they just want to separate fools from their BTC. I can build a basic qt (or any toolkit) GUI in less than thirty fucking minutes. And that includes a cigarette break. Eh, Monero 'devs?'

Looks like ANON dumpfest day:
CLOAK: 35% devalued from its high on the 25th. Now starting its secondary dump 2hr chart crossing to the downside, 4 hour past its max momentum. Trying desperately to crawl back up on the basis of a buggy wallet release with "TOR"
VDC: Lost 34% of its value in the last 4 hour dumpfest despite "strong fundamentals". Profit takers could not get rid of it fast enough.
XMR: 40% devaluation from it's "Mintpal vote heap" pump
XC: Crawling along it's barrel bottom more than 65% off it's highs, again with "strong fundamentals"
Remember ANON Dumpfest day (ADD) 25th June 2014 - for that wallet vacuuming experience that's hard to beat.
Against this background, going horizontal looks like a panic buy.

Words of Wisdom "I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. This is the latest from Eduffield on Testnet: "I've added a new masternode payment system for non-enforcement mode and ported over a bunch of changes/improvements from @rebroad on github (thanks!) @rebroad's changes - Added ability to sync from multiple nodes at once - Added masternodes to address data (allowing mult-sync from masternodes which is awesome) - Added a bunch of useful debug info, cleaned up some logging - Added new proxytoo option - NodeID's for debug purposes Thanks for this!!" It seems like darkcoin is getting more and more help it is going to be very difficult to catch up with DRK. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc3-prelaunch-testing.1523/page-8#post-9852
