Yah, the thought occurred to me that we need to have some kind of outlet for self policing so that whistle blowers have support, just before he said, basically the same thing, LOL.

I despair for Kennedy.  He's in his early thirties isn't he?  The amount of coins he has run away with, compared to the number of people he has infuriated is not really worth a lifetime of looking over his shoulder.  If he does evade the authorities, he'll be sitting in a bar somewhere one night days, months or years from now and suddenly wishing desperately that he was in prison when a nasty motherfucker spots him and exacts an illegal and very painful if not final revenge on him.

Very few people would actually hurt another person, especially in an intelligent community like this.  We're geeks not the bulls, he knows he is safe.  At worst, he will face verbal altercations, while enjoying his stash in Bali.  He's the master of verbal altercations, he knows the buttons to push and has no qualms about using them in a blatant known lie. He knows to be so blatant, people will be taken aback.  They simply wouldn't know how to respond.  People like this are psychopaths or sociopaths.  Basically the same thing.  They have no empathy, no feelings of guilt.  Actually, they're scary people when you realize what you've been dealing with, because they're so charming and you like them!

The most important thing to remember is that they lack what it takes to be a human, and this is especially horrific because there is no hope for them.  There is no cure, it's a mistake of genetics and horribly sad.... for any of their families and people they touch, because for them, it's all a game that they enjoy playing, and they're pretty happy people.  Even if they lose a round, and get pissed, it's like losing a game of chess, the next one is right around the corner.  At that point, they'll take some drugs for a while until they find something else more entertaining.

How do we protect ourselves?  Well, I guess the old "if it's too good to be true..."  That's one of the reasons every time I read "to the moon", it irritates me.  It's like stamping Darkcoin with a scam lable.  Those that bought into Bitcoin in the beginning would never have dreamed it would go so high!  But it was played with by such people, and they pumped it.  Oddly enough, I think the pumping got Bitcoin the exposure that was required to get it to grow though.  It is worth good money for what it can do without banks and credit system.  It's worth a lot just for the fact that it can transfer money, super quickly, super securely and most of all super cheaply.  As it grows in liquidity, it will become more functional for higher and higher amounts as well.

Darkcoin will be able to do that as well, and far more.  But it's not there yet (liquidity is missing).  Still, I doubt we can escape future pumps until liquidity/demand hits a point where it levels out.  It's the demand for it's use that will ultimately give the coin it's worth, not our hording it.

... was just reset. You know what you have to do now, don't you? ;-)

I'll bump this, because it's easy advertisement.  We need to make sure we're in constant progress and so far ahead of the competition.  They need to scramble to keep up with our team Wink [BTW, these smilies are too bland and dull, hard to tell what some of them are supposed to be doing!]

Guvthievery becoming ever more blatant: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/law-lets-irs-seize-accounts-on-suspicion-no-crime-required/ar-BBbbfW3?ocid=mailsignout

Slavery never want away, not in the US not anywhere else either. You work for the government, don't you ever forget it.

Make your fungible assets computationally impossible to prove the existence of, let alone steal.

It happens because the feds say they need more power to catch the "bad guys", they get it, find they have no bad guys to catch, but all these feds twiddling their thumbs, someone starts to notice...hey, why do we have so many agents twiddling their thumbs, so the higher ups say, "get busy!" and they simply do what they can to look busy, ie: pick on the little guy.

#1 rule in government, Never, Ever, give up ANY of your powers, even if it turns out to be a bad idea.

You know why amendments to the constitution are never taken away, simply repealed with another amendment?  So we can SEE our mistakes and not forget them.

We the people have a VERY bad habit of trusting our government.  The founding fathers did not.  We have one of the oldest governments in the world now, here in the new world. With that, comes corruption, and it's getting super thick.  Just like with Moohla, we'd rather trust.  It's a systemic problem you kids are doing a great job to bring to the surface Smiley  Keep it up and we could have a great world.  You'd have to protect yourself and be responsible, but you'll have your freedom.  Worth every penny!

its not camosoul that gives this thread a bad rep. Their are couple of people that make new comers feel unwelcome or stupid for asking newbie questions but everyone claims to want mass adoption but let the few rule the many. I have always felt that camo was one of the good guys in this thread. I have seen him help plenty and yes he has a different type of humor but I thought he stood out as unique among most in this thread. I'm not sure why now he's changed, I suppose it's stress of some sort but his track record from my view point he has been a stand up guy for drk.

I totally agree.  If he stays at darkcointalk, I might just stay there too Tongue

Nice picture Traderman!

My masternode local wallet is still 0.10.15.13.

Would that be a problem when the enforcement activated?

Awesome and fun image. That story is very troubling indeed. The government is bad, and doing wrong often.
This is why these coins should excel. Darkcoin has an advantage here over Bitcoin though.

And it will get much worse.

When governments collapse and go to hell they always try to take the economy and the people with them.
Cryptocurrencies are here so they can't destroy our money anymore! (like they did so often in history)

All cryptocurrencies have to just hold on for a few years and survive and concentrate on improving their security, reliability and scalability.

Meanwhile government will continue to escalate the situation with 100% certainty and more and more people will finally wake up,
and all the most promising coins will be here, ready and available, and adoption will skyrocket.

So, just hold on everybody and help create and maintain the perfect ecash!

x11ltc1btc: "Ok, we will update our pool later, we are weekend now :-)"

Is upgrading the pool software as effortless as it is running a Masternode with a linux VPS?

Stop deamon, copy in new darkcoind, set permissions, start daemon, clear bash, end...

How many masternodes do you need to be juggling before you're gettin an appreciation for pool levels of admin workload?

A lot - then you need the stress of getting MASSIVE amounts of hate any time you fuck up.

What kind of hate?  "Mint-Gox I am going to murder your children as I will never see that 64 BTC again kind of hate?"

Or, "Tsk I didn't really care about those 750 NAUT I forgot about anyway" kind of hate?

If I understand correctly? - at the moment Evan currently is buying himself (or for friends, key investors, ...) «some» amount of DRK on open markets - so he is not interested in high price, PR and so on. Hope his accumulation process wouldn't last long (so some wealthy "weak hands" are desperately needed) and this situation will change soon and price will be pushed up where it should be to attract so necessary "respect" to Darkcoin. What are you talking about? Evan is busy with enforcement then instant TX. Instant TX working would be the most PRable thing the crypto world has ever seen.

I am talking about:

WTB DRK. Pm me  Smiley

Thats interesting. Evan's wanting DRK.

Either:

 - he needs it for engineering purposes
 - he's about to do something that's going to send the price sky high (thank god for unregulated markets eh ?! Smiley )
 - he used his real DRK on testnet by mistake and lost it
 - he spent all his DRK on coffee and needs more coffee

Which one is it ?

option 5. Friend of the family wants some DRK  Smiley

Anybody got lucky here with the 1000drk on Cryptsy @ 0,0052?

I got those  Grin

Ahh ok. Sorry I've been away on holiday... missed that.

Well you don't get a better endorsement for a product really than the creator wanting more. Albeit probably for someone else.

There have been PR flurries lately as dark markets have added.

It's really through adoption though that we'll see a steady rise.

So markets or just for privacy.

Instant TX will be a really good time for the next PR campaign.
Also good for out of crypto land PR.
