Just turns into a regular coin, rather than one that we can selectively mine. how exactly are multipools selectively mining doge? It sounds like they are suggesting that there is a way to only mine when you are going to hit an above average block, is that true? yes. the block reward is not random at all. miners know the next block reward. end of story.

based on my calcs, 10 mhash/sec can make 34.65 USD a day mining litecoin straight. 10mash/sec at waffle can make 41.83 USD a day. still worth it but unless things change soon one might as well just mine litecoin soon.
since this pool has a very reasonable fee... i imagine i will just stick here.

No, they are changing it to be a fixed block reward (currently 250k DOGE/block)

litecoin is being added to chinese exchanges. bullish to many. why are you mining dogecoin that will be dead in a year or two when it is not worth mining and a 51% attack will be done for the lulz.

Honestly, I'm not so sure you're right. If only because the dogecoin community is so fervant compared to the litecoin community. It's also been far more welcoming (heck, I've been attacked as a "stupid liberal" for talking about the OSX wallet with litecoin folks - really poor show towards the fastest growing desktop OS market). I think both will be around for a good long while. The rest of the altcoins? I'm not so sure. I mine both, and use waffle (hooray for load balancing).

DogeCoin is about to go to moon and you are mining Litecoin. Why ?
I think Doge is going to be raped and pillaged by the multipools for the next 5 days until 1.6 is released and then it goes back to a normal coin. Doge's price is going to be hammered in the meantime but will probably make a strong recovery over the next few weeks. Keep in mind, I quite often have no idea what I'm talking about, and this is most likely one of those times.

DogeCoin is about to go to moon and you are mining Litecoin. Why ?
Because we mine based on actual data, and not random predictions...

Because we mine based on actual data, and not random predictions... Pretty much this. Not to be offensive or anything, but waffle is running a business. He can't stake all of his clients (the miners) on a gamble that dogecoin goes up, even if we're 90% sure of it happening. He's got to run based on concrete data. That's how the algorithm works. If you're looking for a manually determined multipool, check out wemineall. All of their switching is done by hand right now, per their devs.

DogeCoin is about to go to moon and you are mining Litecoin. Why ?
Because we mine based on actual data, and not random predictions... Plus the auto-exchange happens in more-or-less real-time: mine a block, sell it on the exchange. AFAIK there is no forecasting aside from depth analysis of market buy orders. If you want more doge, just mine on wafflepool, buy doge with btc, and hold. At least over the last couple weeks, that would have gotten you more doge than mining doge directly.

Dear Poolwaffle, Nice of the Hashrate per worker! Love it. Only thing is, you forgot to put "" around the hashrate in the new API. Can't fetch the data now. Can you please put them back around the first Hash_rate too . Many many thx. Greets, Daltonganger

Lots of people on dogecoin reddit are complaining about Cryptsy. With your recent "issues" with them, are they still our main exchange?

I would prefer them to be float values as the string values were being formatted ("1,xxx.xxxxxxxx") and it broke my API for the big dogs that have received that much. :-P

This is what I get for changing things =P All 3 should be floats now The original reason for formatting was just to lock to 8 digits (instead of float representation), but the format function I've got here is just for display (adds commas, etc). They should all be float values now

Well, it finally happened. My daily payout is officially lower than my electricity costs (at $0.35 kWh). I understand the variance, the market slump, but ... I'll give it another week. If the trend continues this will be power-off for me. Pity, it's been a lot of fun.
