great news regarding sponsorship, thanks to jeremypwr, Sportsbet, Steve and hilarious for organizing the pool
am I missed info, or there is an address to pay down the entry fee?

last season was generous to me, had one yellow cap and overall win, next one cannot be better, but will try my best to be within top10 positions
hopefully, Blues will fight for European spot, not relegation, but transfers so far says other than that

Sign-up thread is now live: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405399.new#new

Got the 0.2 from Sportsbet so huge thanks to them and jeremypwr for sorting that out. It's 0.0025 to join and first place will be a guaranteed 0.1. The rest of the money will be split between 2nd to 10th places like last year. There will again be a free $50 bet to every weekly winner who scores the most points that round so that's 38 chances to win a free $50 bet. All you need to do is win one round and you've pretty much got your money back.

The Premier League starts on the 6th of August so we've got a month to get people signed up and paid. Please spread the word so we can hopefully get 50+ users and add to the pot.

This is amazing news. Cannot wait to start again and i think it will be an amazing season again. Also would be nice when the pool starts and all members enter that we know all prizes in advance for 1-10th place. Also im expecting 50+ members honestly

I've done a couple rounds in advance, and I've already input two weeks later this year where I'll be away on a trip. So, I've already input more predictions than last year Cheesy. I won't forget this year I promise, but I definitely can't promise I'll be any good. I've been close to winning big money before betting on the Premier League though. One time I was two results away from £200k+, and another goal away from £25k. Funnily enough, Chelsea is usually the team that lets me done, and usually are the bloody favourites. Despite being close a few times, I've never won big though.

Looking at the Manchester United situation, I think they'll be even worse than last year. They at least had Ronaldo banging in a ton of goals, but if he is to leave or worse yet refuse to train, and gets dropped I think they could be in some real trouble, because quite frankly he bailed them out last year multiple times. We also play them within the first couple of rounds, so we could maybe compound that pressure on them by beating them convincingly.

Saw an email saying pool was destroyed, for some reason gave me a shock for a moment heh.

Last season, Spurs, United, Chelsea were my bet destroyers. If I'd focused more on MLs I'd probably have done better but we all like an acca or two a day don't we? I'd really love to win a big one but don't recall ever coming close on anything approaching 1000/1.

I did learn to stay off United after a while but Rangnick in and Ronaldo playing like a beast fooled me back in a few times. Yeah I don't see any light end of tunnel for them this season. This Ten Haag guy's probably in for a rude shock.

@igehhh yes, thank you for Salah, Sturridge. Rejects at Chelsea, heroes of sorts at Anfield Wink

Not sure if you had more success the other direction... Torres sticks out a lot ha.
Without a doubt, we have helped some of our rivals in the past with out-of-favour players, particularly Manchester City, who built their team with our players after the oil money takeover, and we gave them Wayne Bridge and Wright Phillips, who were the only quality players in that team at the time. We also indirectly aided Liverpool and Manchester United. Grin

William Gallas was traded for Ashley Cole from Arsenal, who went on to become one of the best left backs in the world.

Torres' iconic moment came in the Champions League against Barcelona, when he paid off his debt and led us to the final. We pull him out of shit at  Liverpool and turned him into a European double champion.

I've done a couple rounds in advance, and I've already input two weeks later this year where I'll be away on a trip. So, I've already input more predictions than last year Cheesy. I made some cool money off my club Chelsea from February to August last season, I knew we were shit it's always painful to go against your favorite club, especially when you're watching and wishing them to win while also wanting them to lose so you can make some money Angry I went with the BTS tip the majority of the time, and it paid off because we couldn't keep a single clean sheet.

Last season, Manchester United and Leeds United were my bet destroyers; I knew both teams were bad, but their odds were always appealing, so I sunk every time I chose them.

Why not? I'm confident you'll beat me the way you're bossing around F1 pool -- you need to really pay attention to the top guys of last season though, snuck up on everyone in the last clutch of games!

Entry fee for next season as prize? Wink

I couldn't understand how you related Formula 1 to the Premier League.  Tongue Your position in football pools is way ahead of mine however I believe in myself this season. IoI  The entry fee for next season is a good choice of prize. Deal!  Wink

I never do singles. So, when I'm close to winning its usually big. Of course, due to putting one massive accumulators I never win. So, when I do it's a pleasant surprise. The UFC win I had a week or two ago was massive for me. My first win of the year Cheesy.

I'm just that crazy bastard that puts on at least 4/5 fold accumulators, but most of the time up to 8 fold accumulators. I basically donate money Tongue.

Bastardness tends to transcend type of sport. But each season seems to bring new bastards, and I really enjoy how competitive it's become. We have a deal, do remind me if I forget when I win =D

I remember that one, perhaps you'd be celebrating more wins as a casher outer..! I certainly would have on my singles -- last one was Villa leading 2-0 at City on final day and when they were weathering the storm I should have taken 15/1.

5 is actually my limit (and only because of Sportsbet's acca insurance + boost), but they're generally 20-30/1. I do fantasise about those million-to-1 odds I only do with the 0.1mbtc freebets. One day...

Cristiano bailed them out, and they let him down in my opinion.  The way MU finished the 2020/2021 season, and adding Renaldo before last season every one really expected more from them.  I was pretty sure they would take the league, or at least give City and LFC a more trouble than they did.  It was quite a disappointing season, and I'm sure Cristiano feels betrayed.  I don't know what they payed him, but at the time it was rumored that it had to be less than what City could offer.  What's crazy is he could probably still play at an above-average level.

Anyway, if he doesn't stay in Manchester next year I hope he signs with the San Jose Earthquakes!  Grin

Speaking of American soccer, I should probably mention it here; I paid for an extra spot for this year's pool, and I want to give it away.

Requirements:
  • Jr. Member or higher rank
  • American citizen (no proof required)
  • Living in the US (no proof required)
  • Never joined this pool before

I'm not going to request KYC, lol, so please be honest if you want me to consider you.

I'll post them as soon as everyone's paid. If people can pay ASAP that would be great so I can start planning the prizes so please don't leave it last minute if you can. The quciker we can get the prizes fixed in the more people will likely join once they know what they are.

Yeah, please join the one sent via PM once you've paid.

I'd be surprised if he stays with no Champions League. He's going to want to hold onto that CL all tome top scorer lead which will be severely dented unless he can get himself to a team that is going to be playing in Europe. I'm sure he's conflicted with wages though as he might have to take a cut so there's that to weigh up. Not seeing him in the CL is kinda tragic. Maybe he should just go back to Real.

did not follow all the news, but I heard that options are Chelsea and Bayern, and Ronaldo is closer to Bavarians, but Chelsea is offering more money to him
and as it is, Ronaldo is ready to take wage cut, to join Bayern

not sure is that all true, or just rumors, but there was some interview, with him stating that he will certainly retire with one season in Sporting, but it is still early for retirement, and Bayern could be a CL trophy top contender with him in line-up

If he goes to Bayern I am sure he will score a huge number of goals there as compared to if he goes to Chelsea where obviously he could not score that number of goals because of the quality and difference between the leagues.I have heard many Juventus fans writing him in Instagram asking him to get back to Juventus, but I have not seen any real offer from the Juventus club so far, nothing is off the table obviously.Personally I would like him to go to Bayern as there he would add so many goals to his name which would make him an even better player,in statistics which is important when one person is near the end of his career.

Hey guys I paid my fee already  Cool

Would I suggest however that we update the thread title and OP to include instructions because I had to look for it,,, or maybe I could not see it easily being a mess in my head.

For us repeat players that is easy but newbies would never know I think if they visit this place. I quote again for anyone who missed.

I'm not sure who is to blame, but the team was in shambles when he joined last season. I believe they were a much better team before he arrived; they qualified for the Champions League without Ronaldo but were unable to do so with him on the roster. I believe Ronaldo was the reason Ole was fired. He was unable to blend the team with Ronaldo, and at some point, every player started to lose confidence because they were relying solely on Ronaldo to work his magic rather than as a cohesive unit.

Manchester City agreed to pay him £400k per week but wanted him free, and Juventus insisted they must pay a €25m release clause.

Anyway, if he doesn't stay in Manchester next year I hope he signs with the San Jose Earthquakes!  Grin
No way he's downgrading to a less competitive league  Grin

I'm not going to request KYC, lol, so please be honest if you want me to consider you.

I think that's a fair assessment.  They definitely appeared incohesive most of the year, and firing Ole didn't help, in my opinion.  Obviously Renaldo is a great player and could have made a huge contribution on with a confident and coherent squad, he was only slightly behind Salah and Son in terms of goals.  Contrast the cohesion of LFC or the Spurs, and it becomes abundantly clear this is a team sport.  I've never thought of Renaldo as a selfish player, so it would be hard for me to blame their lack of success last season on him.

No, certainly not at his current level of play.  And even if he did cross the pond to the MLS, a bottom-of-the-table team that can't fill a stadium with only 18k seats won't be his destination, lol.

He has demonstrated twice that he has no loyalty to any club. He left Real Madrid when they were in trouble and trying to rebuild the team. He then went to the reigning champions Juventus and left them when they were in trouble. Now, he is doing the same thing with Manchester United, leaving when they need him. He does not want to play in the Europa League and does not mind playing for rivals.

Lol. He still aims to catch Messi for the Ballon d'Or, so he won't be leaving Europe anytime soon.

Can't argue with that, I guess what I meant to say was that he doesn't seem selfish on the field.  Grin

What do you really think are the odds of Renaldo matching or passing Messi's number of Ballon d'Or awards?  I mean, he's never played for PSG!

I just joined the pool invite already,,, as the 10th member Smiley

See many missing names, guys what are you waiting for? Go and join, the more we have, the more money I win  Grin

BTW Spurs is in South Korea for preseason,,, and I saw Manchester United and Liverpool are in Thailand. Those two always seem to go together IIRC last 2 seasons also they were in same place. Is that not weird for enemies?

Who do you guys think will be the best and worst signing for 2022/2023? I hope Richarlison is in this list,,, but obviously not as the worst!!

I was waiting for if I could trick DireWolfM14 about if I'm a U.S.A citizen or not but I have given up.  Cheesy I made my payment a short time ago and I have got my place in the pool. Even though we seem to be not many people I'm predicting that we are going to reach 50+ people this year. It is going to be a really very tough pool.

i think that it will be more than 50 members as well, there is almost a month left, and people will join, cannot see why all members from last season would not join again

this will be a very interesting season, having cut in the middle due to WC, some teams could use that period for a better start in second part

although I think that City will won without issues, fight for CL could be more than interesting, as last season
