Hey Octo-Bros! The activity has died way down cuz there is not much to talk about but just seeing what errr' body is up to?

trying my hand at learning Javascript. Its horrible!

other than that, not a whole lot going on, tell Frame to get on setting up that Octo address for clay so we can all send him some monies already.

oh, and see him get choked out too. that is fun Grin
OH DUDE!!! Before I was a network administrator, I was a programmer. You are right, Javascript is the absolute worst thing ever, EVER!!!!

Yeah, I will talk to him about that. We have both been super busy with our jobs and life in general. It's good though, keeps me grounded when I get antsy that there aren't any updates, the Dev's have other jobs too.

I think that when Clay chokes him out we should make a rule that he has to try and fight it instead of insta-tapping. You don't know Frame like I do, he's about the sneakiest S.O.B. I've ever met! haha luv ya Frame!

I'll get that address up soon. I forgot about it the last few days. The issue I was having was that I was trying to create a fresh 888 address.

In the new wallet, it wasn't like the old wallet where you see your wallet addresses unless you go and select to view them. I've thought that was weird and different but not a deal breaker by any means.

So now, when I select to view my incoming wallet addresses and select to make a new address,it will make a new address but it's not new. When I view the balance it shows a balance higher than zero and you can see incoming transactions from May and June. I made 3 addresses that were supposed to be new and all are previous addresses.

I suppose I can keep making new addresses until it's actually new but I didn't want to fill my wallet up with a bunch of random addresses.

The previous addresses were seperate for mining, bittrex, Joshycoin, and some other exchanges. Maybe I'll get a fresh one today.

Anyways that threw me off. I'm glad you guys reminded me.

Just shutdown the wallet, rename wallet.dat to wallet.dat.x, start the wallet again and you'll get an empty wallet with a new address. Shutdown and do the reverse to switch back to your own.  Alternatively you can use vanitygen (https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen) to generate a new address.  Either way I would keep your donation address in a new wallet.dat away from your own funds.

Since getting into Cryptocurrency I've had many bags, all but two have varied over time.  Those are the two I see in the mirror where my eyes once shone.

Yeh, the quiet is eerie.  Hopefully temporary.

Still holding a huge bag here, stopped buying and mining for a while and started diversifying.  I still have faith in Octo but all-in is too risky a strategy.
Every investment is risky.Good luck to us.

yeah i'll def try that tonight. that's what i wanted was a clean addy with no transactions so when people checked the blockchain they would see zero prior transactions and basically no connection to my actual wallet or other addresses.

Also, we have decided to switch vendor's for tees. The guy we wanted to use is super talented and does great work for good prices. However, he has not been very active at getting us our quotes or even responding to emails about doing our shirts for us.

I gave him one last chance this week and he did not respond so we will begin finding another vendor.

It sucks because we really wanted to get quality tees at good prices and with him we would have. Oh well his loss.

We will be posting soon and i plan on taking a week vaca from work soon so that i can try to get everything finalized and moving for the tees.

Update coming soon.

good find. it does look pretty good and affordable. my only opinion on it would be to wait until at least the first 2-3 apps are released so that you have something good to include in the press release. i don't think there's any point in paying for those types of PR releases when we don't even know what the Devs will be saying in their own PR once they start advertising. but yeh, overall that looks interesting Smiley

DONATION ADDYS

GOAL: $150 where $50 is reserved for paying for a patch/es for Gi uniform or MMA short and the $100 or anything over goes to Clay for travel expense to Germany for an all purple belt tournament.

If we reach the goal of $150 I will shoot a video at our gym where Clay can give his thanks for the Octo community support and you can see Clay choke me out!

You even get to vote! Which choke would you like to see Clay take me to night night city with?

Reply to this thread with the following options: Triangle choke, Cross choke (in a gi) or Rear Naked choke. Please only vote if you donate Smiley I'm not going to require that you post how much you donated with your vote so we are going on the honor system here Smiley

You can also include any suggestions for this or any future sponsorships.

Of course, you can use the blockchain to track the addresses. All Octo will be traded for BTC. All BTC will be sent to Coinbase to cash out. Screenshots will be provided to prove transparency. The thank you/chokeout video will show Clay receiving the full amount.

If you are interested in supporting Joshycoin and I with PT Crypto we have launched PTCRYPTO tokens on Counterparty.

They are capped at 24 Million tokens. They are currently for sale in the exchange on Counterwallet for .000012 BTC. If you need assistance buying some let me know. We are still working out the details but we will have rewards and use from PT Crypto and our affiliate customers in the future. For now, know that you are launching a startup that will help grow the adoption of digital money and services like Bitcoin, Octocoin and Counterparty.

As always, PT Crypto, Joshycoin and I still support Octocoin. We are waiting for the release of the Octocoin apps before we can promote them to our customers. We have Octocoin listed as our featured coin on our website. We will have the Octo tees on the site after we find a new vendor.

Thanks for any support we receive! Go Octo! Go PTCRYPTO!

We understand everybody is anxiously awaiting the next update - we are preparing the beta release of our first OctoHub app and hope to have it live before August 1st. Once it is released, the wait between other releases will be considerably shorter as we are working on a number of projects simultaneously. In fact, we still have not officially decided which app will be the first. We know people are frustrated with the delay on the release of previous promises in the updated client/tip bot/etc but, while those projects are essentially complete, our investors are pushing different priorities and we have to cater to them first.

Obviously confidence in the currency itself is an important aspect of this project but, rest-assured, it will all come together soon. We aren't concerned with the current state of the altcoin market and we do not view other currencies as competition - we are doing something different and our goal is to create a true financial ecosystem built around OctoCoin and other major global currencies with both in-house enterprise-quality software and strategic partnerships. We will always be part of the altcoin economy as OctoCoin is, by definition, an altcoin. At the same time, we hope to eventually begin to distance ourselves from the dark cloud hovering over this economy and our investors are concerned about OctoCoin trading on the same exchanges as CryptoMETH, for example. A number of cryptocurrencies are flawed from a fundamental economics perspective and it's important we strike the proper balance.

All of our apps will be forced to remain in "beta" until the final (stable) release of PostgreSQL 9.4 as we heavily utilize the new JSONB "binary JSON" type and PostgreSQL 9.4 Beta 1 is the backbone of all of our apps. Despite the private pgSQL 9.4 Beta releasing at SXSW in March, there is still no ETA on pgSQL 9.4 (stable). This likely won't affect much but, for those of you with some insider information, it could create delays for our pending partnerships with financial institutions. If we had a better idea of the timeframe there, we may have considered incorporating a NoSQL solution into our projects (in addition to PostgreSQL) - we are simply too far along at this point to look back.

Finally, we will be looking to hire a part-time developer to assist with OctoHub and will be posting the application there soon. Our team consists of developers with varied backgrounds and, as such, we are using a wide-range of web technologies including Laravel (PHP), NodeJS/Socket.IO/Express, Apache, Nginx (primarily for load-balancing), PostgreSQL, Memcached, Redis, and JQuery/Bootstrap/AngularJS - obviously experience with at least a few of those will be a plus. All of our projects are managed in private GitHub branches and most of them will not be open source; as such, we would require an NDA to be executed. More details will be posted as they become available.

We would like to thank everybody for their continued patience - your patience will be rewarded.

Thanks for the update! I'm sure it's more anxiousness than frustration when it comes to the delays on the apps. I think most of us that have been around awhile realized it might be a good 6 months from launch before you realistically have apps to show. Can't wait to see what you guys have been working on!
