I don't understand why the guys who are interested in T20 and other cricketing discussions, don't show much interest in joining the IPL Pool, when we have such a good prize pot. As I have mentioned before, there is chance to win 28x the entry fee.

Not all members have interest on IPL. I hope this is the main reason.

Yeah, that could be a valid reason and i understand that, community tried to address this issue by discussing fees for participation, Here so that we could get fair number of participants. Guess our tiny community didn't do a good job there.

I follow IPL just for the excitement and gambling. There's no specific team for me to support. There are not may favorite players to root for.
IPL actually is a money making machine for both the organizers and the participants, so does for gamblers who would want a quick results. Cricket results are much more predictable as the chances of being a draw are negligible. You can martingale for a better team to earn good in a long run.

Nothing wrong in following test cricket. I used to watch a lot of test matches during my college days, but it is no longer possible now. Back then I had plenty of free time. But now I have a full time job, and kids to take care of. But I agree with you to a certain limit. The excitement that we get from watching the Ashes or the Border–Gavaskar Trophy, is much higher than what we get from the IPL or the BBL. Test cricket is the complete package. We get to watch all the aspects of cricket such as defensive batting, building of partnerships.etc. T20 format is more monotonous, with batsmen trying to hit the ball out of the park all the time.

Not everyone is going to do it in public, myself bet on the games only on the particular day and not too many games as well so I don't wanna join into our community prediction thread.

The 14th match of this league between Speen Ghar Tigers and Kabul Eagles is in progress but I don't see any discussion of this league on this thread. Look like no one is interested in these matches.

This IPL pool will not become free of cost so why wait for the deadline to join ?

Also it will be unfair for those who invested in the pool  if they allow free entry now. Nothing is free in the world. If you want to join, then pay the minimal fee and you're in.

Not following but heard about this league couple of weeks back when Afghan board gave permission to their star performers to play in the CPL instead of local league.

This is a bad idea to resume the PSL after a long interval of six months. Now for just 2-3 matches, they need to arrange the logistics and bio-bubbles once again. IMO, they should abandon the remaining matches and prepare for next year's tournament. Even the viewership is going to get affected, as the matches will take place at the same time as the IPL.

I'm not forcing anyone to join the pool mate. I understand that some users are not able participate in the Pool because of the current pandemic situation or other reasons. But one thing I'm sure is that some of the members discussing in this thread are not really interested in gambling. Maybe they are interested in cricket but not in gambling. IMO many are posting in the gambling board mainly because of the Signature Campaign requirement.

As we already have like 10 members in the IPL pool already and a few more are likely to join in the next few days, I don't think that the pool will be made free of cost in future.

Probably the PCB wanted to keep the players engaged with something during this period. They should not do overkill. The PSL 2020 was a grand success. Audience level and revenues were much higher than what they expected. All that said, now it will be better for them to concentrate on the next edition.

You can't even compare IPL with any of the other franchise T20 leagues. In terms of revenue and audience, IPL is miles ahead. PSL is relatively new and has not yet reached the maturity. I would still rank BBL as the second most popular league, followed by the CPL. Others, such as the PSL of Pakistan, BPL of Bangladesh, MSL of South Africa.etc would rank much below these three.

@bryant.coleman it’s confirmed that IPL will be streaming live in 120 countries, except Pakistan as it’s been banned by the broadcasters. Lastly PSL cannot reach IPL levels because foreign player’s yet don’t feel comfortable coming to Pakistan, and that’s why I feel that they'll be never be able to grow as big as IPL is.

@Juggy777 This is pretty bad because there are a lot of fans of IPL in Pakistan too. I am sure they can still watch IPL on the internet using a VPN or other services, they still can hear the live commentary on Youtube.

Such bans are not effective if you are streaming matches on an internet-based platform. But, it is still bad news for Pakistani fans.

@bryant.coleman there is a big gap between the popularity of IPL and PSL. PSL is still very fresh and has a long way to go.
