However do you’ll really believe that BCCI won’t be be able to find main sponsor for the IPL, because I strongly feel that some company will soon sign up and seal the deal with BCCI.
BCCI will get a main sponsor for the IPL but the problem here is that they wont be getting the same valuation VIVO was paying them, when IPL was started the it was 40 crore per year and then it changed to 80 crore and VIVO came in and showered them huge amounts than anyone else by paying them 440 crore per year and now the BCCI is expecting similar valuation and even Reliance rejected the proposal made by BCCI and if Reliance rejected then no Indian company will be paying that much.

After reading your reply, i am curious to know which country do you belong ?

Are you from Pakistan ?
I was talking about Indian politics as the topic was regarding the IPL and if pakhitheboss was talking about Pakistan then i have no idea about their politics.

@pakhitheboss still waiting  Wink.

I have already posted about this. It will be impossible to replace Vivo, because they paid manytimes the fair-price during the 2018 auctions. The deal was worth ₹2,200 crore. None of the Indian brands were ready to pay even ₹1,000 crore. And now the economy is not doing that good and I really doubt whether the BCCI will be able to finalize a reasonable deal.

They still searching for the bidder and recently announced that, IPL rights bidders need to show turnover of INR. 300 Crore.

I think it's not only the Indian comanies which BCCI looking for, they are searching the non-chinease options.  There are some candidates such as  Coke, Amazon, Dream11, Tata Group and Patanjali ayurveda .

The possible IPL schedule

BCCI is hoping anything above 300 crore for the sponsorship and many companies have came forwarded with the proposal. The mostly likely of them would be the highest bidder among Baiju, Coca Cola India and Amazon. Even Patanjali is on the run for bid. The only question is how close would be the final bid to the VIVO's schedule sponsorship of 440 crores.

I don't think in current situation any one going to close VIVO because now most of businesses suffering badly and BCCI is also understand of this all so any reasonable deal could be acceptable for them but still they will have some good funds from this because IPL is good brand right now in world.

My conservative guess is that it is going to be somewhere around ₹100 crore, which would mean a decrease of 75% to 80%. Byju's recently entered in to a sponsorship deal with the BCCI for international matches, but I don't think that they have enough reserve funds remaining to go for another deal. Coke/Amazon may not be interested in such an expensive deal, because they don't need it. Patanjali maybe interested, but for them the potential returns from any such deal may not be that great.

In my opinion Amazon will be more interested in sponsoring the IPL title as the tournament is scheduled at the same time when they have their Great Indian sale. But, I do not think they would be willing to pay the same amount as VIVO did, BCCI has to compromise with the amount they are asking if they want to have a title sponsor for IPL.

They already compromising about this because they now in current situation if they able to have some good deal its enough even not like VIVO because businesses suffering very badly and they have noe enough choice about this so they will have some good deal its ok for them and IPL this year's edition.

Reposting so that guys in this thread do not miss it:

Edit : IPL_POOL

Fellas we need more participants if anyone is interested then please throw your name in the hat.

Guys we have:

6 so far. I am working on finding a sponsor. I have two proposal already but still working to find a better and balanced one. We need to make this list of 10 users at-least.

In addition, the pot will be bigger this time. Honestly speaking the 1st place may walk away with $250 or more (not final yet, let me finish the deal with the sponsor first), so imagine how much we will be have in the pot.

Besides, we will have consolations prizes for round winners. So join the pool and fasten your seatbelt for a crazy ride. If you are still thinking to risk 0.001 BTC is too much then think twice because once the registration will be closed then you will have no chance to win the prize money :-D

The problem is that Amazon doesn't need a costly option such as the IPL. Amazon is already the second largest online retailer (with the gap between them and the no.1 ranked Flipkart less than 1%), and they are very popular in India. Vivo paid so much for sponsorship, because they are not among the market leaders in India (mobile market in India is dominated by Xiaomi and Samsung), and they wanted to increase their market share.

Yes, this makes sense that Amazon is already on top and would not do so. Patanjali seems to the one of the rights in this zone if they are ready to pay and good amount for the sponsorship and also, they have some good market to capture as well in various segments. Also, any idea who all are applied for this sponsorship?

The last date is 14 August then we will able to have list who all are in for applying this year's IPL in UAE currently those are interesting they all are taking applications other data about this. https://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/113757/bcci-india-cricket-invites-bids-for-title-sponsorship-of-ipl-2020

Patanjali is trying to expand to the upper-middle class segment and IPL sponsorship may help them there. Also, it may give them a lot of exposure outside India (right now most of their sale is concentrated within the Indian subcontinent). The organic products sold by Patanjali, if properly marketed can have a loyal customer base in countries such as the UK, Australia and the US.

Yeah Patanjali can but, there is an issue with its finances after they acquired Ruchi Soya. If they agree on the title spopsorship then the opposition political parties in India will make it an issue and after the recent COVID19 medicine scandal I do not think they will be interested in it.

I still believe it will be Amazon as they have been aggressively focusing into Indian market after Flipkart was aqquired by one of their biggest competitors.

From what I have heard, BCCI is heading for big trouble. Some of the politicians have requested the BCCI to drop their links with companies which are having "links" with China. And this list includes Byju’s, Dream11 and PayTM. This is getting really irritating now. Why can't these politicians concentrate on their field and leave cricket alone?

BTW, if sources are to be believed, Patanjali hasn't shown much interest lately in sponsoring the IPL. The main contenders, as of now are Amazon.in, MyCircle11, Unacademy, Dream11 and Byju’s.

Looks like BCCI is desperate to finalize new sponsors currently.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.timesofindia.com/sports/cricket/ipl/top-stories/ipl-sponsorship-bcci-looks-to-raise-rs-300cr-in-middle-of-raging-pandemic/amp_articleshow/77496159.cms

I hope Amazon becomes the new sponsor. They will probably finalize a deal very soon based on the article though they will only recover 75% of the losses from the VIVO deal.

And this list includes Byju’s, Dream11 and PayTM. This is getting really irritating now. Why can't these politicians concentrate on their field and leave cricket alone?
Already mentioned this in my previous posts. The VIVO deal collapse was a big hit to BCCI and this was always coming, but many people here acted like it wouldn't be a big deal.

BTW, if sources are to be believed, Patanjali hasn't shown much interest lately in sponsoring the IPL. The main contenders, as of now are Amazon.in, MyCircle11, Unacademy, Dream11 and Byju’s.
If politicians interfering too much then surely its going to hit very badly because this is not good sign every time when politicians stand against any thing they destroy this badly so now time for government of India to hit back and stop this non sense because now IPL is big brand and its need to develop more without this politics like we have many Leagues in other Asian countries.

This will surely hit hard the IPL brand, I was always in favor of VIVO continuing the title sponsorship but things have already turned bad in India with the anti chinese sentiments . BCCI is desperate and I am pretty sure they will go with Amazon this time.

Overall 17 players from Australia and 11 players from England are playing in the IPL. Amost all of them I guess will be playing this series, so most probably they will miss IPL this time.

Not full tournament though, only one week of action after reaching UAE as there is only 6 days quarantine policy. so they might miss approx 8-10 days of IPL overall.
