For this edition, record viewership may be there. But it can have an impact on IPL 2021, which is scheduled for just 4 months after the end of IPL 2020. There is going to be audience fatigue, and the TV viewership may get impacted. I am of the opinion that the ICC could have conducted the T20 World Cup this year, rather than allowing the IPL to proceed.
I completely agree. IPL 2020 will obviously set new viewership records due to the pandemic, but so many players pulling out at the last minute due to various reasons could deter some viewers.

However, as long as players like MSD, Kohli etc play, it won't make a huge difference overall. However, I disagree with your opinion about the T20 World Cup since I feel that they made the right call. IPL 2020 should have also been cancelled.

Tom Banton had such a good series against Pakistan, but he failed today. Tail has almost started for England, with Moeen Ali at the crease. If England want to get to a score around 180-200, then Dawid Malan needs to make sure that he stays there till the end. Ali is not in great form with the bat, and the same can be said about Tom Curran as well. And after Curran, we have four tail-end batsmen.

Edit: Moeen Ali is gone. England in deep trouble.

Australia done very good job as England was on attack but Aussies bowlers and fielders never give so they fight back very good now England on back foot as after 14 overs they are 109/5 which is not good score from them just Malan on crease if he able to stay for some more time then may be they get some reasonable score.

A Worldcup tournament played behind closed doors would definitely be not that interesting to watch with empty stands. So IMO it's good that the T20 WorldCup was postponed. But I didn't want the IPL to happen too because of the pandemic conditions. But here we are waiting for the IPL to start in 2 weeks time.

ENG 152/7. Only Butler and Malan did good with the bat for England. Aussies have been playing brilliantly today with some exceptional fielding. Expecting a target less than 170 for the Aussies, now that Malan has got out.

Edit: 163 runs to win for the Aussies. I think ENG did OK considering that we are missing out Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jason Roy.

I don't think Australians are facing much of a problem from England's bowlers. Both of the batsmen are batting quite impressively. I think the total scored by England is fairly low considering the hitting capacity that Australia have. A few more over without a wicket would mean end of match for England much before the result. Aussies have a great depth in their batting order but yeah england team is a bit in touch while Australians are playing after a long break so maybe England could try to turn the match.

Can't agree more. But I don't think England could turn the match now because Aussies only need 72 runs in 10 overs with 10 wickets in hand. The opening partnership is going really well and solid. And I don't see much pressure from any of the English bowlers either. I think Aussies are going to win this match  very easily by 10 or maybe 8 wickets

Its already very late for England as Aussies 98/1 in 11 overs mean they are out of game today we have real Aussies power first in bowling and fielding and now in batting they are much better then Pakistan in all fields so England out in all departments hopefully they will give their best in coming matches.

Last 15 balls completely change momentum of this match as 4 wickets down and now England feeling much better then Australia Even Stonies on crease but now 20 balls and 29 runs is really entertaining end of this match Now if Australia lost one more wicket then surely they are going out of this match.

Cannot believe that England actually managed to win by 2 runs against such a strong Australian side. Australia seriously botched this one. Carey messed up along with other middle order batsmen. The Australians must be pretty pissed right now.

Warner and Finch were awesome as usual, but the rest were disappointing.

CSK will manage somehow since they have many popular backup players. They probably prepared for these issues sometime back due to the pandemic.

Australia messed this one big time and the odds at one point for England to win were over 14 and i too messed up big time after England was restricted to 162 runs and i was expecting Australia to win it easily and with the start they got i thought they will be cruising smoothly and then everything changed suddenly and Australia just forgot how to score runs and i expected Stoinis to score boundaries when the asking rate was climbing and he too missed out big time. I was foolish enough to back Australia after they are returning after a long gap while England was playing back to back series and that was the main difference in the match.

Today Australia was really on fire in all departments but sadly at the end they lost by just 2 runs I have just one question why was Lubuschagne out because if you are going Maxwell as bowler then surely you must have one more batsman instead of going with bowler which was not helpful hopefully now they will think about this and bring him in which could be very helpful in batting.

Was expecting close game but in favor of OZ  Undecided Sad

that we are missing out Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jason Roy.
Joe Root can't make into the T-20 squad anyway  Grin, England already got fair amount of T-20 specialist.

I have just one question why was Lubuschagne out
They trying to fit him in the limited overs squad but competition is bit tough and there is common consensus among the CA selectors that he's more suitable for Test format,

@Indymoney Australia paid the price for being overconfident as they believed that they could easily beat England, but hopefully this loss will serve as a wake up call for them, and now I believe that they’ll be more focused in the next two games. Furthermore the IPL situation doesn’t look too good because even Malinga has withdrawn himself from the league, and if more star player’s continue to withdraw from IPL then the league will loose it’s competitive edge.

Yesterdays game was a spoiler I never expected England to win it. Though it was pretty close and I thought England would not win it yet they did because they have been playing continuously and are in high spirit after winning all of their tournaments.

Everything going wrong with CSK. Players tested positive, Raina left and now Bhajji gone. What's going on?

CSK squad is perhaps the most elderly out of all the eight sides in the IPL. Almost half of their squad is aged 30 or above. This can give them an advantage when experience is considered. But at the same time, it makes them more vulnerable to injuries and other player issues. Raina and Harbhajan used to be integral parts of CSK for so many years. Their absence will be felt.

Raina quit IPL2020 on account of his family issue but Bhajji skip IPL2020 because of corona pandemic, yet very reasonable point to get understand. We must respect their perspective anyway it's difficult to imagine CSKs without Raina and Bhaji as a fan, I keep missing both of them. Can't do anything for that except supporting them.

Their absence is something that can't be reversed. But at the same time, CSK without these players is not recognizable. These 4-5 players form the soul of CSK. I am talking about Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja.etc. New players may be able to replace them, but the fans may not be comfortable in supporting a squad which looks drastically different.
