Just one of those things Tongue. I've gotten use to whoever I back losing as of recent Cheesy. Nah, it was a great fight, and I personally had Izzy up 3-1, although a lot of people I know would disagree with that. Izzy also rocked Alex yet again, just like the kickboxing match, but ultimately lost yet again. It's funny, because it's such a similar story. Maybe, Alex has his number.

Honestly, in the rematch as I'm sure there will be a rematch, Izzy is going to need to knock Alex out. He'll have to be more aggressive, since it has been proven time, and time again given enough time Alex will land on you, and will finish you.

Also, I know Izzy complained, and the ref got criticised for a early stoppage, but honestly I thought he did fairly well. Izzy was going to get knocked out there or at the very least hurt more. I thought it was a good stoppage, there's always that what if in the back of your mind, but Alex is incredibly accurate, and Izzy was already falling over the place prior to that.

I'm not too bummed about the result, it sets up a great rematch, and ultimately the division was getting stale with Izzy cruising to victory all the time. It might actually wake him up a bit, and we might get an even better rematch. I'm almost relieved the division hasn't stagnated which is a weird feeling.

I was close to getting my bet in too, Reyes screwed me first though, otherwise that TKO of Izzy would've hurt a lot more. I actually went to cash out when I saw Reyes get smashed up twice before the actual knockout. Wasn't quick enough, bookie probably wouldn't have allowed it anyhow.

Also, Molly got humbled in my opinion. That showed there are levels to the UFC.

I really feel the same about what happened, even though I am for Israel Adesanya we can not take away what Alex Pereira did, in coming back on a verge of losing to Adesanya, and that it was thought that Israel Adesanya really is winning this, but Pereira's corner have spoken something to him, it was clear that Pereira only need 1 round to finish Israel Adesanya, and Israel Adesanya was still clinching to the plan and that is to clinch on Pereira, but the Corner of Pereira really notice that then a new Pereira emerges, we can see that when 4th round ends Pereira was gas out and surely that grappling Adesanya has shown was really remarkable to be gasted out like that, for me if Adesanya only switch to the more safest approached like he used to do in his previous fights maybe the results will not be the same, he already got 3 round even though he lost this round he would still win it, but he clinch for dear life, but I really don't blame him, he was in the midst of the fight to realise that Pereira already know what he is up to,

And yeah it was a good fight to be bummed about Adesanya's loss, but I am also looking forward to the rematch, which will take place after the UFC 248 winner of the fight between Robert Whittaker VS Paolo Costa, and after that, a rematch will surely happen,

Well, Erin Blanchfield has really shown that she is on a different level than Molly McCann, and I really love the way she wins it, humbling McCann, in the process,

Sad and really unexpected.

I think everyone is familiar with Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. On punch knockout artist, but I have remembered him as fighter, who has competed in divisions starting from welterweight (that is from 71kg) to heavyweight (that is 94kg and above). Yesterday he has passed away from blood cancer... At the age of 38 only.

@danherbias07. Agreed! This deserves an immediate rematch for Izzy. However, does Izzy want to risk another knockout and to be in the octagon immediately versus this scary man after losing against him in kickboxing and in MMA?
Now that's a good question. There's so much to consider before he decides to fight again with that man. We all saw it, it's obvious in his face that the punches of Pereira shook him. It doesn't need to be many, one good accurate punch changed the outcome of the fight.
Perhaps a strategy in keeping him lying on the mat, I bet his coach is already thinking about it.

I speculate that this will be the beginning of Izzy's disaffection from the sport of MMA and the beginning of his demand for more in his paycheck. He will also support to increase payment for UFC fighters. If uncle Dana wants to promote a rematch, they should pay Izzy more money.

He can also retire if he does not want to do this and I speculate that he might retire quietly. Did everyone witness Izzy wave and bow to everyone?
They should. That is one hell of a game and undoubtedly MMA fans are looking forward to watching a fight like that once more.
Adesanya had his chance too, it's just the timing is not right. It could've ended in the first round.

My Deepest Sympathy and Condolences to the Bereaved family surely his memories will live on forever in all his video fights and his records on the Wikipedia page, well, it was sure sad but it happens, and the cause of his death was because of Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, and it is really uncommon to adults because it was commonly seen on children,

And now that the UFC 281 was settle I think it is time to embark on a new journey and event and waiting for the UFC 282 where the main will be Jiri Prochazka VS Glover Teixeira, and Skipping 283 because for me 284 is juicier, because that will be a Champion VS Champion match on the UFC and it will be Islam Makhachev, VS Alexander Volkonovski, and under that fight was Yair Rodriguez VS Josh Emmett, Robert Whittaker VS Paulo Costa, and a Filipino-Australian, Joshua Culibao against Melsik Baghdasaryan, will be the one that I am looking forward on watching,

I don't think Izzy will retire in UFC because this is where he earn money, he's come from Nigeria which is a third world countries, so he would be fight until he get older and doesn't have enough stamina to compete against young fighter. It's true if Izzy quit kickboxing after he lose against Pereira for the second time, but he have a capabilities to beat him if rematch will happen.

Shout out for Pereira who's the new champion at middleweight division, Izzy already so long defend his title.

However I also don't expect Esparza got take down easily by Zhang in the round 2.

Maybe, although he seems to be up the challenge of a rematch right now. The thing is, he's been on top of the game for what seems forever despite it not actually being the longest at the top. It just seems that way because he usually wins in a pretty decent fashion, either via knockouts earlier in his career or just utter domination.

This new challenge might actually rejuvenate him, because it might have been an element of complacency in him after all this time. Now, I don't think Alex lasts all that long as a champion, especially against the grapplers, and wrestlers of the division, but against Izzy in a kick boxing match, he probably will always have that chance. I thought Izzy basically won 90% of that fight, but not always in the stand up. In the stand up, before the knock out obviously, I'd say Izzy marginally was the better striker. Obviously, it doesn't matter since he technically got knocked out, but for future reference, he wasn't a million miles ahead of Alex, and in fact resorted to wrestling which I actually somewhat predicted before they fought. Alex is just scary, and when he gets up close, he's very scary.

Also, Alex on the night was huge, easily outweighed Izzy. Mad how much weight he actually cuts for the weigh ins.

Sad and really unexpected.

It's horrible to think of, I'm not even sure this was made public before hearing about it yesterday. Devastating, and at a crazy age too. Not much else to say other than complete shock. I'm hoping the UFC dedicate some air time on the next event, since it really is a tragedy. I'm hoping to see a nice little bit, dedicated to his career. Has been some of the best over his career.

On a lighter note...  What an event!  From top to bottom the matches were good.  There were prolly just two matches that were 'just ok' but the rest were entertaining as fk.  It was surely one of the best UFC PPV events of the year.

As for the next event, if you guys hated the event the other week which was decent for me, you guys will totally haaate the next one.  Cheesy

However I also don't expect Esparza got take down easily by Zhang in the round 2.

Israel Adesanya will surely return with a great attitude and great outcome, maybe watching the replay will surely give him confidence that he is really dominating the fight and that he just needs to adjust his style in the last round to get the win, and that is for sure, but well it happens and for some that have watched the fight I think Pereira will start to train with Ju-Jitsu this time even though he will not use those training in the fight he will gain pretty much stamina when grappled to the ground, on the end of the 4th round Alex was really exhausted and Izzy was really fine,

Zhang Weili really did it and that ground training really help her with that we all know that Esparza can also scramble on the ground but pertaining the fight Weili always got the upper hand on her, and because of this for me Zhang Weili become a solid champion,

Yup, just heard about it too.  RIP Rumble.

Yup! it was a stunning great event even the women's division Zhang Weili really outdid what she have achieved and this time with what Esparza was good at, she beat Esparza with a terrain that mostly Carla Esparza is familiar with, and that was the going to the ground that many people thought that Esparza will have the upper hand and with the Erin Blanchfield VS Molly McCann fight we can really see what Erin Blanchfield did there she was really the most dominant when it comes to grappling, well can I say it was a solid PPV,

Well I haven't hated that event but the next event might, but let's give a chance,

UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivak

So it says here:

Derrick Lewis has gone from a slight betting favorite to a sizable underdog in his upcoming bout with Sergey Spivak.

The Black Beast opened at -115 odds with Spivak coming back at -105. But after the early betting action seen at online sportsbook SportsBetting.ag, Lewis is now the +170 underdog with Spivak moving up as the -200 odds-on favorite.

Anyone knows what that is all about?

Unless there was some bad news that happened to Lewis that would easily give Spivak an advantage, I don't see how casinos would just flip odds like that.

I don't think it has anything to do with his recent losses otherwise the odds would have made him the underdog from the beginning.

Zhang Weili trained with the Hickman brothers in Thailand for the event.  Her team def knew they needed to be in another camp other than her original one or the one she trained at with her rematch vs Rose Namajunas at Fight Ready with Eddie Cha and Henry Cejudo.  Weili kinda had a more defensive style when she was at Fight Ready.  With the Hickman brothers, she has the wrestling chops but the aggression is still there.  I'd say she got way better with the Hickman brothers than with Henry Cejudo.

A couple of replays for Lewis and Spivak...  Enjoy.

Honestly, in the rematch as I'm sure there will be a rematch, Izzy is going to need to knock Alex out. He'll have to be more aggressive, since it has been proven time, and time again given enough time Alex will land on you, and will finish you.
I don't think Adesanya can knock out Pereira, and you can see that from all the fights they had in MMA and kickboxing, he was not very close of doing that and he is not known as KO guy.
That doesn't mean he can't beat him with points and strikes, he was very close this time but he didn't hold until the very end.
My bet was on Periera this time but in rematch I would have to bet on Adesanya, odds would be much better and he is going to fix mistakes he made.
Bad thing for Izzy is that Pereira can only get better in MMA, grappling, wrestling and other things that don't exist in kickboxing world.
Khamzat Chimaev is calling out Pereira for fight in Brazil and I think we could see that before rematch with Adesanya.

That goes to show that Sergey Spivak has the potential to beat Derrick Lewis, for bookies to increase Spivak's odds, there are many that bet Sergey Spivak could win this, or I guess when Bookies went and review these two on paper they surely have seen it, and for me, I would surely go with Sergey Spivak, in this fight, Derrick Lewis is not a technical artist that will surely go aggressive without hesitation and relying much on his knockout power which is not really effective anymore with new fighters,

And looking at Tai Tuivasa comparing Derrick and Sergey's fight with him Tai Tuivasa destroyed the black beast in the 2nd round Tuivasa was really durable for Derrick, while Sergey Spivak wins against Tai Tuivasa with an arm triangle choke which he can do the same to Derrick Lewis, pretty much that odds was the corrected odds for this fight,

Enjoy.

The Hickman Brothers yes, I am searching for Zhang Weili's Trainor and they really did great with Weili now, and surely Rose Namajunas better watch out because this is a new Zhang Weili, and if you are playing Tekken and if we base the Fighters on the UFC with Tekken you can say Zhang Weili is a new and improve Jin Kazama, well not actually the style of Jin Kazama, but the Jin Kazama now has a new move style set than the usual style it was a new and improved Zhang Weili we are witnessing now, and just like Israel Adesanya additional ground game style is their new ace in their sleeves,

Izy can hit that KO on Pereira if he goes berserker mode from first round and keeping it like that for the second. If that won't happen and Pereira survives again 3 rounds , it's all over for Izy after that. I've also saw Joe Rogan talking on his podcast about some MMA fighters going into Thailand and taking "juice" to buff them up and Izy was one of it's topics. Can it be true ? Well ...we might never know but his body looked different in this fight , I must say this.
Khamzat will get his fight and he is a dangerous fighter when he enters that cage so Pereira must go for that early KO.

Interesting notice - both Adesanya and Usman were leading on card and both lost in 5 round. Coincidence? Now its Ngannou turn to lose in 5th round Cheesy

Adesanya had 5 title defences, as well as was leading on the cards. That cant be counted as nothing, I think he deserves a chance to have an immediate rematch with Pereira. Like Prochazhka and Texeira. They are having a rematch in less than a month, when someone else could have that title shot.

Did you notice how bad was Pereira on the ground. He barely managed to stand up, to stand up against kickboxer Adesanya. If Pereira faces Whittaker or Costa next, then he will lose his belt 1000%.

Stunning fights and the Main-event are now creamy and not boring anymore I really think that we have seen a different Israel Adesanya here he really showed something new, now here is the result and what happen,

Israel Adesanya VS Alex Pereira Round 5 KO/TKO - LOST

Just like what we are talking about Israel Adesanya's ace in his sleeves was the takedowns, and I think he has good Brazilian jiu-jitsu that surely Pereira wasn't expecting that, and it was really unbelievable to see Pereira going to trip Adesanya but Adesanya reverse it with a takedown, and from that, at round 1 Izzy was dominating with his right straight punches it was all he needed, recreating that kickboxing was Izzy was dominating that fight, and I can say that all round 1, 3, and 4 was for Adesanya, while Pereira has the 2nd round, it was going according to Adesanya's Plan and Pereira was really exhausted because of Adesanya's Grappling until that 5th round Pereira Suddenly Changes and 1 round was all he needed to end up Adesanya, I was really shocked right now instead of just  left hook Pereira is constantly blitzing Adesanya, Well that is that in just 4 fights Alex Pereira has become the champion, but I think we can all agree that Adesanya showed tremendously new style but I guess he forgets to shift back to the way he used to fight because Pereira really knows what he will do in the 5th round, it was a lost but I really enjoy the fight,
Pereira remains an invincible opponent for Adesanya, the third fight between them and the third defeat (the first two were in kickboxing). During the fight, Adesanye controlled the situation, although Pereira was more assertive and tried to constantly force the fight. This time the champion did not succeed in an easy expectant fight, the 5th round really became unexpected, Pereira chose close combat tactics and Adesanye could not withstand this pressure. The result is unexpected, but Pereira's victory is well deserved, but how long can he be in champion status? Something tells me it won't be long.

Just found out that Alex Pereira is Roobet new ambassador. Another UFC fighter that promotes cryptocurrency. Which makes last weekend main even stake.com vs roobet.com Cheesy Also Brandon Moreno and Charles Oliveira represent Roobet, together with (I was amazed of that) Canelo Alvarez.

First I wanted to complain, that my signature campaigns, duelbits, should also get their man in UFC, but it turns out that Jiri Prochazka is their ambassador Cheesy

If Pereira did making a good connection from the start of the match. Izzy wouldn't be confident on standing which hecould have resorted to groundfight which could be a turning point for him. The only time Alex loses in MMA was in the ground fight with Quemuel Ottoni but it wasn't actually that easy. But I think Adesanya can handle groundfight better.

Pereirra will have difficulty fighting Whittaker or Costa, these two can take the fight to wresting the moment they start.

I know it's easy to get carried away, but Izzy actually had a lot of success on the night. He was moving well, and picking his shots. It wasn't like Alex didn't try to engage like that multiple times, but Izzy was rolling with it. There might be something to that hurt leg of Izzy. It might have prevented him from actually getting out of the pocket.

I think it's a little unfair to be dogging on Izzy just because he basically got knocked out once again. However, he did very well for much of the night. Most people seem to have him up 3-1, including myself. Now, I'm trying to take anything away from Alex, he fully deserved that win. It's just I'm not sure why Izzy is getting so much hate, and people are ignoring how good of a job he was doing up until that point.

I had Zhang Weili winning the rematch vs Namajunas tbh.  They first fight sure, it was a KO kick to the head for the finish.  Buuut..  It was kind of a fluke.  First kick in the first few seconds of the match and it was a flash KO.  That ain't happening anytime again soon for sure.

And yes, this new version of Weili is going to be a hard one for Namajunas.  Not saying it's a sure win as Namajunas also has a good trainer and training camp with Trevor Wittman.
