Many people must be thinking about whether Chelsea can make it to the title once again. I also am a little curious about it actually but I don't want to believe that they can even eliminate Real Madrid. I don't see the same Chelsea now. I'm aware of the fact that Chelsea will be focusing on the Champions League more than the EPL now. But I don't see the same light in them this time. If they somehow manage to eliminate Real Madrid, then I might start to feel that again.
You are right Chelsea is no longer as strong a team as they were last season. But is the Real Madrid team too strong? We know their squad players are experienced. Their coach is experienced. But they still rely on Benzema to win the match. The Chelsea team may have been a bit weak. But the situation in Real Madrid is not good. Real Madrid will not be able to win against Chelsea without Benzema scoring a goal. Benzema is literally carrying Real Madrid over his shoulders now. It is a sure thing. But they are not playing bad as a team too. I see a significant difference between their performance now and the one in the last season. Ancelotti has started to make this difference and his influence on the team is really big now. And Real Madrid have a huge history in the Champions League. They eliminated PSG like that thanks to their being an experienced team in this tournament. Chelsea are another experienced team maybe but this time might be different. Benzema has been the key player for Madrid this season but I think Chelsea have more than enough in their midfield to cut off the supply to Benzema and if they can do that effectively then he will be effective. Benzema is a top player and he will need just a mistake to punish Chelsea. I think for Real Madrid to knock out Chelsea, other than Benzema the rest should step up. Chelsea did come off better than them last season and It will bad for Real Madrid if they come with revengeful and malicious dreams because it might backfire against them. |

There is only 1 match that is going to be tense, normally. Chelsea - Real Madrid is difficult to say who is the favourite. I think the other 3 games are pretty clear who will go through. Certainly Villareal and Benfica are too small in this face of the competition. Atletico Madrid could still be a surprise with Griezman and Suarez, but I suspect Liverpool will know how to handle that. I am especially looking forward to the draw for the semi-finals. Then it really starts.

I'm going to be following Benzema's performance against Chelsea especially as he is going to be the key player of the team as always. He is in a great shape now as he scored two goals in his last game. He was great against PSG in the rematch as well. Chelsea defenders are going to have a big responsibility of defending him solidly. Rudiger might be the most reliable defender for that in the team. He is the best defender for Chelsea now. Not only defensively but also offensively I mean.

Benzema has been the key player for Madrid this season but I think Chelsea have more than enough in their midfield to cut off the supply to Benzema and if they can do that effectively then he will be effective. Benzema is already a Real Madrid key player since he came to Bernabeu first time. Now, he shows more contributions in the last few seasons. Even, Benzema makes sure that he becomes the most important player in Real Madrid right now. With his status in Real Madrid squad, it is very worrying if Benzema cannot play in this match. So, I really hope that Benzema can play with 100% healthy in the match against Chelsea. Regarding the midfielders, Chelsea Midfielder didn't show good playing in their last match in EPL. So, I am pretty sure that Real Madrid midfielders can do better than Chelsea midfielders. They won't have a problem delivering the supply or passes to Benzema. |

Every player on the team tries to play well from their place and as a result, their team's overall performance is good. And so Chelsea will get the expected result only if they can resist Benzema against Real Madrid. |

After the results on this week, I saw that Manchester City and Atletico Madrid both had a solid weekend. But when it comes to facing each other, everything changes. Because their opponents this week were Burnley and Alaves respectively in the end.  We can't take these games too seriously because of that. But I'm still feeling sure about one thing which is Manchester City will be winning against Atletico Madrid in Etihad Stadium. And they should win to be advantageous for the second leg. There is a big difference between must win and really win and this must win sometimes plays a bad joke with teams that face a similar situation  Atletico Madrid should be more liberated psychologically in this situation and this can also play a role. Real Madrid - Chelsea matchup is the one that I have been curious about the most recently. Although I see Real Madrid like one step ahead of Chelsea for this, in fact there is no clear favourite team to advance here. Because Chelsea moved Real Madrid out of their way last season, Real Madrid will need to play extra carefully not to fail again. The first game is in Stamford Bridge and I feel like Chelsea will be in control in this game. Real Madrid will try to do the same they did against PSG I think. And we will see if they will be successful.

I really wanted Manchester City to lose and give an edge to Liverpool in the league but it couldn't work out, but I know such chances still exists. In the other Alaves was not a problem to Atletico Madrid because Atletico Madrid knew she was in a fight between Sevilla and Barcelona. Come to champions league, Manchester City is more likely to qualify because of the number of good players they have. Apart from the good players they also have a good coach and were at the finals last season. They have chances of progressing to the next level. While we cannot say all these to Simeone, but we know he is a counter strategist, I believe he has mapped out the method to deliver his club. |

I don't think Chelsea are in their best form of performance right now to handle real madrid. Chelsea are having issues with their performance, I believe real madrid will defeat Chelsea, Chelseas defence surprise me . In the epl Brentford defeated Chelsea very sorry, it course anything for Real Madrid to win. |

Take nothing away from Diego Simeone, the dude is a good manager who has enjoyed his own fair share of success, winning the spanish league title twice and also making it to two CL finals even though he sadly lost, i am not saying he is better than Guardiola, of course i do not think any manager is better than Pep, but diego Simeone is right up there amongst the best managers in the world. Having said that, let us leave the coaches aside, Athletico Madrid also have quality players, maybe not as many as City, but they can definitely compete; i admire Simeone as a manager, but i do not fancy his defensive tactics especially in big games, he must understand that his team can likewise dominate a game, but they are only following his instructions to park the bus and hit on the counter attack. I am pretty sure it will be City doing all the attack in this game, and overall i believe City would be too strong for them, and they will win the game and progress. |

It's hard to predict this match. Real Madrid has not performed as well in their last two matches in La Liga. They lost 4-0 to Barcelona, and 2-1 to Celta Vigo, but their gameplay was poor. Chelsea, on the other hand, lost their last match 4-1 to a team like Brentford. And so it is very difficult to predict how they will perform face to face now. But considering the home team, I will keep Chelsea ahead. |

Totally agreed. I think he knows what he's doing, getting into so many finals with the team he has and not to mention beating Real and Barcelona to the title last season, with the squad he has, that is not luck. That is tactics, and yes I hate his tactics but sometimes, as a neutral you can really appreciate what he does with the style his team has and the types of players they have. We don't have to like him but we can admire him. |

Playing at home, I believe the city will take the sit as the winner. But if they didn't play carefully, Atletico will make the surprise like they were in past. This game is quite a memory for each coach, at the time Pep was in Barcelona. there are several times to beat each other. but still, Pep far superior strategy than Simeone. H2h, Atletico is superior, in the last 5 matches, Atletico win 4 while Machester city only 1. |

Chelsea lost 1-4 at home against a really weak team of the Premier League which shows their full focus is here in the Champions League and I think it is not going to be easy for Real Madrid.Real is still the favorite to qualify but I would be very careful to underestimate a team like Chelsea which has great potential especially in the attack area as they have some great players there while Real Madrid depends more on collective game play rather than having a great striker beside Benzema.

I don't think Chelsea are in their best form of performance right now to handle real madrid. Chelsea are having issues with their performance, I believe real madrid will defeat Chelsea, Chelseas defence surprise me . In the epl Brentford defeated Chelsea very sorry, it course anything for Real Madrid to win.
In the Champions League in the past, Real Madrid have always looked good and have been very consistent in playing, it looks like that will also happen this season because considering that last season Real Madrid were also beaten by Chelsea and they also managed to bring the Champions League title last season. So this season is another opportunity and it is extraordinary for Real Madrid to prove themselves that they also really deserve to be champions in the Champions League.
