Ashwin is in the team for his bowling skills and he is one of the top spinners in world cricket even though he does not have a place in the shorter format as the level of competition is high and his batting skills are a bonus while playing in difficult pitches.

IMO, Ashwin's batting skills are not better than that of either Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc. He has scored some valuable runs in the past and his batting average is much better than his Australian counterparts. But most of his runs have come against weak opponents in Indian pitches. Expecting the same in Australia, against the pace trio of Starc/Hazlewood/Cummins would be a little too much.

WTF is going on at Adelaide? India at 26/8, with a lead of 79 runs. Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins have 4 wickets each and India is heading towards an absolute humiliation. If I am not wrong, the lowest total India ever made in a test innings is 42 (vs England at Lords, 1974), and it is very probable that this record will be broken today (unless we witness some miracle from the part of Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari).

What a crazy day in this test match, India are in big trouble at 9 wickets down for just 36 runs and risk scoring their lowest test score ever. This test will be over by today unless something happens when Australia bat and they also crumble. Chasing any score under 100 runs isn't that easy so we could see an exciting end to the test match. I think India's hope is to try and stay as long as they can out there and hopefully push Australia to bat in the night session where the ball plays tricks on the batsman.

This pitch has deteoriated completely, I am sure Australian batsmen will struggle more when they come to bat. But, the target is very low and they could easily win the first test if they can stay on the pitch.

Maybe today Indian fans might miss captain cool, but it was unfortunate and team India was never ready for that such kind of revenge by OZ pacers. Ofcourse the team India is not such bad to score such worst score but still its not a lucky day for them so it caused to be to down for the OZ.

From now even though the wicket is harder to bat still OZ has 99% chance to win this match because they knows what total need to be chased down to take this victory.

India made only 36 runs which is their lowest score in the test cricket. Their pervious lowest was 42 runs against England in 1974 which was long time before. I don't agree it was a pathetic batting by india, perhaps the pitch has something to do with it. If Australia face difficulty in this chase, then we can blame the pitch.

Prithvi Shaw should be happy. Before the start of today's play everyone in India were discussing about him and the manner in which he got out yesterday. But now it seems as if everyone has forgotten his performance. People are talking about the manner in which Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane got out. It's just humiliating the way in which they even failed to make a three digit total.

A few feather in the cap of Virat Kohli  . I could not believe my eyes when i saw a pop up showing the highlights of India's unbelievable collapse and most of the dismissals were similar as if i was watching the replay .
None of the players were able to score double digits and what major changes they can make in the rest of the series is a big question.

They were sticking to good line and length, with the occasional bouncers. But the Indian batsmen found it too tough to handle. Will India lose this series 0-4, as predicted by Michael Vaughan?

I am not a hater of the India team. I am against their team management. They will play 4 Test matches on the Australian pitch, against a test specialist country like Australia. They must have preferred experienced players. They have selected a bunch of young players to play on the Australian pitch. If the team did not have experienced bowlers like Ashwin and Bumrah. Then India would have lost the match by an innings. I hope you got my point.
