The latest news is that Cameron Green will make his test debut if he passes the fitness test. Regarding Shaw vs Gill, I don't have a preference. I am not impressed by both the players so far in this tour.
The injury Cameron Green sustained was scary on the spot and hopefully he will pass the concussion test and make his debut as he is a promising allrounder for Australia.

That said, I would pick Pant over Saha. The latter is 36 years old and I think picking him over a promising player such as Pant will affect the morale of the younger players. And as far as the bowling attack is concerned, would rather prefer 4 pacers. Indications are that the track at Adelaide will be more supportive towards the pace bowlers.
I would prefer Saha over Pant because of his wicket keeping skills and i have seen Pant dropping catches behind the stumps and it will only boost his morale to work on his skills.

Labuschagne is a good player, but I don't think that he will be the suitable person to open batting for Australia. From what I have seen, he's more comfortable at no.3 or no.4 positions, or even further down the order. During the Sheffield Shield competition also he was batting at no.3 for his domestic side (Queensland Bulls). Why can't Marcus Harris or Tim Paine open the batting?
Marcus Harris could be a contender for opening slot but not Tim Paine as he never opened the inning, he's more of middle-lower middle batsman. Both teams are having tough time on selection.

For Australia Top order and Cameron Green's concussion seems serious drama and India is also confused over Shaw vs Gill / Pant vs Saha and 4 seam bowler attack vs 3 seam + 1 spinner.

I agree that Marcus Harris could be the best option right now for Australia as I also don't think that Labuschagne isn't an opening batsman and it could actually do more harm then good if they select him to open the batting. Its best that he stays at number 3 or 4 and have Harris open. I also wouldn't be rushing Green into the team if he is still getting over his concussion from the tour match.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Earlier i had doubt over Cameron Green but after Will Pucovski concussion Green do have solid claim in the Playing XI, hopefully he clears the concussion test and earn his Test cap, he deserve it. I am fan of both Shaw and Gill but as of now Shaw seems to be in pretty bad phase, his shot selection is not looking great atm, on the other hand Gill looking good so would prefer Gill over Shaw.
The warn up matches were not that great for Australia as they lost Will Pucovski due to concussion and after that Cameron Green and he will be in the team if he is able to pass the concussion test and he is a promising player for Australia as he batted really well and a good fast bowler as well.

I am not sure about the Indian team line up but i am expecting Bumrah and Shami along with Umesh and Ashwin the lone spinner according to the pitch condition.

I don't know whether Vihari can bowl as much as all-rounders such as Jadeja, but after reading your post now it sounds to me that including Ashwin may not be a bad idea. After all, Australians do have vulnerabilities against spin bowlers.
If Vihari can manage 8-10 overs a day then its job well done and i think he can, after all part timer main job is to give main bowlers some sort of rest during rotation. Interestingly one news coming out that team management encouraging younger batsmen to bowl in the nets. Vihari, Shaw and Mayank Aggarwal started bowling in the nets.

Another news is Saha could play in the first match.

I think Cameron Green will solidify his place in the Australian national team with the series against India. He is very talented. And able to help the team in need. I hope he will be able to support the team well in the next Test match. I think WIll Pucovski will be given a chance in the series against India. But he did not get a place in the squad.

Babar Azam ruled out due to thumb injury.

He got a  fracture in his right thumb while having a practice session on sunday. What sort of practice it is which make you unfit rather than making you fit for the match  Huh
First covid-19 rumors and now Babar, Imam, Shadab injuries worries Pakistan ahead of NZ series will further dent the team performance.  Angry

May be he got knocked out in thumb war.  Grin

Anyway its not like he's ruled out from the tour, its just T-20 series and i am sure he would recover and come back for Tests, which is more important.

The problem is as he is the only player we are looking to perform against NZ and if he is not playing, then its better we don't play at all. No other batsman look to be replacing him as of now. Everyone is thinking now that What will Pakistan do without Babar Azam?

Most of the Australian regular players are above 30 years of age, and it will be beneficial for them to inject some fresh blood. Apart from Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins, I can't recall any Australian players under the age of 30. And this is why players such as Pucovski and Green are needed in the national squad. It will give them an advantage during the T20 World Cup as well.

I would like to see Saha at least in the test team as a regular player because he is capable batsmen and also he upgraded his wicket-keeping abilities in the past years so if get a chance to play in this series then he should post his best performance to seal a spot in test team because the other keeper is Pant, we all know how his batting style has been even though he is scoring and hitting well still doesn't have enough patience to play long innings.

Pant is a favorite of Virat Kohli (both plays for the same Ranji Trophy team) and I don't think that Saha will get the necessary support from the other senior players. Anyway, the selectors would prefer someone young, rather than the 36-year old Saha. Sanju Samson is an exciting prospect, but Ishan Kishan is not bad either. Selecting Saha ahead of these younger players may cause a lot of furore.

For a Test match against a team like Australia, I would be more than happy to see someone experienced than the young star. Test match is completely different from ODI or T20 format. It takes a lot of patience. A small mistake by a batsman can upset the whole team. So experienced players would be more suitable. Although India has a lot of young and talented players. Maybe the youngsters will not disappoint the selectors

Good to hear that Cameron Green is cleared to make his debut and i am expecting him to make an impact in the match with either the bat or the ball and he will be a regular in the squad because of his all rounding capability. I am expecting Australia to win the match and it depends whether the pitch will be flat as India have some good fast bowlers and any help from the pitch will be a nightmare for both the teams.

Cameron Green is a promising talent and if he is taken care by the Australian board and if he is able to avoid injuries which includes good reflex when the ball is approaching him then he will be a good talent for them Grin. The ball that knocked him in the head, he could have avoided that but instead his reflex failed him.

Toss is a major factor as they are playing with the pink ball and the first two hours will be crucial as the bowlers will have an advantage.

OK. So all four have been included in the playing XI. Here in Indian social media, there is fierce debate on why Prithvi Shaw was selected over Shubman Gill, and why Wriddhiman Saha was preferred over Rishabh Pant. I guess I would wait for some more time, before making a comment on this. This is going to be the last chance in a while for Shaw, and he needs to make use of it.

BTW, I am excited that Cameron Green has been included to the Australian playing XI.

Also, the latest from the Indian camp is that Shaw, Saha, Umesh and Ashwin may be included in the playing XI.
India already announced their Playing XI, memo above your post and its signed by Damadji aka Cheer leader aka Ravi Shashtri.

I was in favor of Shubman Gill because of his good form and Shaw's poor form but after seeing playing XI my reading is team management want to give him long rope as he did okay in his last tour but on Rishab Pant they took a U turn, Pant was 2nd highest scorer for team India. May be they are showing confidence on their top 6 batsmen?

Cameron Green might turn into next Sam Curran for Australia, bad dream as far as indian team is concern.

Very bad start for India, with Prithvi Shaw back in pavilion. Now they are 5/1 after 4 overs, with Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal at the crease. Mitchell Starc got the wicket of Shaw, and he opened the bowling along with Josh Hazlewood. My initial impression is that there is a lot of pace and bounce in the pitch, which is very good news for the Indian pacers.

It's 35/2 at this point! Not a decent beginning, Pujara on batting and India need him to continue..

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli promised that this Test series going to be competitive. Hoping for a cracking series and this will be high voltage series this time. Whoever handles pressure better will come out successful.

Mr Shaw out for a duck, niether he can play in T20 nor in one day. I thought he would be good for test but it seems he is struggling there too. Which format is he comfortable in playing?

This is worst start for India they have lost 2 wickets already and are struggling to stay on the pitch. Pujara and Kohli should stay there as long as they can.

41/2 - Dinner break. Tough session for India.

Australian bowlers didn't gave anything to batsmen. Mayank was looking good, unfortunately he didn't last long. Pujara was on other hand looks very lucky and solid at the same time. India going very slow, saving wickets is necessary but scoring runs is also necessary. They should change gears a bit in next session as its not easy feat to score runs under light.
