I agree with you, Will Pucovski is a very talented player. He may not be in form in this match. I believe he will not disappoint the team selectors if he gets a chance to play in the Australia National team. C Green is in great form. He has done great batting as well as great bowling.

I was expecting Will Pucovski to make his debut against India but he retired hurt due to concession in the warm up match and i do not think that Australia will rush him for the series as teams are taking concession seriously and he will miss the tour. Green played well but i doubt whether he will make his debut in this series but as a fast bowling allrounder he will be a prospect for Australia.

Its a shame that this has happened to Will Pucovski as he was almost certain to play for Australia in the first test match. The concern with him is that this has happened many times already in his short career so I think the Australian selectors won't rush him into the side but I do hope we get to see him play in the test series, maybe he will debut in the Boxing Day test match?

I don't think that he would have got selected for the playing XI. His performance during the warmup match was not exactly satisfactory. In fact, none of the Australia A batsmen were impressive, apart from Cameron Green. If the selectors want to include Pucovski in the squad, then it is their decision. But I would rather advise them not to rush this young player before he is ready for it.

He was not that bad either, his numbers not painting clear picture but he looked comfortable against the Indian pacers,  He showed good temperament during both innings, he was bit unlucky at the first inning when he got out on very average ball. Situation might have been very different for him if he had the luck of Cameron.

Will Pucovski is a promising young player for Australia and I expect him to be a regular member of the squad within the next few years. He may be temporarily out of form, but that should not be held against him. Even star Australian batsmen such as David Warner had rough patches during their career (for example his bad form during the last Ashes series).

I am not sure whether they should play more than 3 test matches per bilateral series. They could have instead scheduled two more ODI matches. I am a big supporter of triangular/quadrangular series, but as of now it looks as if the BCCI is not interested in such tournaments.

Well i prefer 5 test match series whenever Pig 3 play against each other so i am bit pissed off that they are only playing 4 instead of 5  . Its part of the previous FTP so facilitating Tri or quad series was out of the question, at least for now.

Matches between the Pig 3 are always competitive, and highly revenue generating. So they need to play as many matches as possible. So I too would have preferred 5 test matches instead of 4. IMO, the Pig 3 (India, England and Australia) needs to make sure that at least 50% of the matches they play are between themselves. This will reduce the incidence of one-sided matches and will make sure that the three cricket boards are able to generate good revenue.

ODI and T20 matches are perfectly fine, but for test match either it should have been 3 if not able to adjust the 5 matches. If due to Covid just in case it has cut down from 5 to 4 then better could have being make it to 3 test and 5 ODI rather than 3 as this would have more interest among larger audiences who would have watched ODI rather than those ignoring the test matches due to 5 days.

I am also waiting to watch the game in this stadium. An excellent stadium. As far as i know, it is the largest cricket stadium in the world. On the other hand, maybe it is the 2nd largest stadium overall. Another name of his stadium is "Sardar patel stadium".

Yes. The Sardar Patel Stadium at Ahmedabad is the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a capacity of 110,000. Melbourne Cricket Ground is second with a capacity of 100,000 and then we have Eden Gardens with 80,000. All the top-12 largest cricket stadiums are either in India or in Australia. It is surprising that the birthplace of cricket (England) doesn't figure in the list.

The irony here is that in England people crazy about soccer than cricket. In Australia, people are more interested in
Rugby. In India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh people are crazy about cricket.

As expected, New Zealand is off to a good start against West Indies, in the second test. Henry Nicholls managed to score a century, and he is out there with Daryl Mitchell, with New Zealand looking pretty comfortable at 285/5. Remember that New Zealand has rested Kane Williamson, who is expecting the birth of his first child. Apart from Shannon Gabriel, the other West Indian bowlers looked out of form.

I mean, players have to be properly groomed and then included in the national team. Players should be placed in India-A to get acquainted with the environment and pitch of all countries. There is no shortage of talented players in India. So India should make a player more experienced by giving them a chance to play in the India-A team before taking them to the national team.

Historically if the BCCI identifies a talent they groom them and then the rest depends upon the individual to perform. Sachin was selected in the team at 16 and many raised their eyebrows as they were touring Pakistan facing deadly bowlers that could hamper his confidence but we all know the level of caliber he could attain and so does Kambli and everyone expected him to perform equally but he spoiled his career.

As you mentioned there is no shortage of talented players and you need to perform whenever you get the opportunity at any level of cricket and if you prove your worth then the BCCI might consider in giving you special treatment and the biggest example is Rohit Sharma who never performed to his potential close to a decade and now we know his place in the team in the shorter format.

Just amazing, what a special day of cricket 20 wickets and 302 runs. Jasprit Bumrah did something very special in his carear, anyway Indian's pace attach did excellent performance which give them advantage bowled out Aus A team for 108 runs So, It right to say Indian bowlers own the test match though it's practice match.

Indeed this is some sort of dilemma when somebody comes to know that the Asian countries who plays cricket more than the mentioned National games at international levels. Not sure why respective government differ on their view of making such changes or else they should promote more of the national games by providing the good money to board and which in turn can help to get the better players, best facilities which is at par at international levels. Else today nobody even talks about such national sports for those countries which you mentioned.

I have seen the game on the Melbourne grounf before. The games were very exciting. Maybe no team could score more runs, but the matches were very enjoyable. I am just waiting to watch the matches in Sarda Patel stadime. I would like to see the performance of teams like India and England in this ground.

As we know Will Pucovski is in doubt for a call up in the Australian team for the first test match and so could Cameron Green after getting hit in the head from a straight drive shot while bowling so two of Australia's young talent could be out with concussions. Joe Burns is also in poor form so if Warner can't be healthy before the first test the Australia selectors have some thinking to do. The Indian bowlers are in top form and look ready to go against Australia in the first test match in 5 days.
