Shaw and Gill were acting like, it was some kind of T-20 game. Prithvi Shaw is really struggling, it happened in IPL and he continued with bad form here as well. He was first choice for the opening slot along with Mayank Aggarwal, not sure if that's the case now. 

This is what happens when some of the younger players get too much glitz before they get enough maturity. They need to understand that pocketing a multi-million IPL contract is not the final target. Ultimately, they need to perform for the national team and it is going to matter much more than their performance for the IPL franchise. This is applicable not just for Prithvi Shaw, but also for the other young players such as Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer.

There are many differences between IPL and International matches. And IPL us a T20 game. T20, ODI and test are completely different in all formats. And the strategy of the game is also completely different. Young players are new. Their experience is low. So they can't even be patient in ODI or Test matches. So the expected results are not able to.

Shaw is a talented young player no one doubts. He is only 21 years old. He has a lot of time in front of him to make his slot in the Indian team. Now he is in off form. Now if he is taken in the team, and if he can not perform well. However, the Indian team management will not give him another chance. I think, Shaw should prepare himself for Indian Best 11 through more training.

I would still say that Prithvi Shaw was thrusted in to the national team before he was ready for it. India should learn a lesson or two from the Australians. Look at the way they are handling Will Pucovski. Younger players are included in the national side, only after they get a lot of exposure from the A team tours and Sheffield Shield matches. This helps them a lot in handling the pressure of international cricket.

And as usual due to lack of experience that player can not play as well as expected. We have seen Rabin Uthappa and Manish Panday before. They did great performances in IPL. But they could not play well in international matches. Now they are out of the Indian squad.

Playing in home and international series are completely different stages. Australian cricket board has a long process before a player debut an international cricket. The problem is not about only for Indian Cricket but The Southern Asian Cricket maintain same habit and most of them could not play well later. No longer hold their position as before.

The players should adopt to the playing condition and any player that is capable of doing that will be successful in the international level, Robin Uthappa made his ODI and T20 debut in India and he played a really good innings in his debut match and Manish Panday made his debut in the tour to Zimbabwe and they did not adopt to different playing condition and hence they failed.

I was expecting Will Pucovski to make his debut against India but he retired hurt due to concession in the warm up match and i do not think that Australia will rush him for the series as teams are taking concession seriously and he will miss the tour. Green played well but i doubt whether he will make his debut in this series but as a fast bowling allrounder he will be a prospect for Australia.

I don't think that he would have got selected for the playing XI. His performance during the warmup match was not exactly satisfactory. In fact, none of the Australia A batsmen were impressive, apart from Cameron Green. If the selectors want to include Pucovski in the squad, then it is their decision. But I would rather advise them not to rush this young player before he is ready for it.

He was not that bad either, his numbers not painting clear picture but he looked comfortable against the Indian pacers,  He showed good temperament during both innings, he was bit unlucky at the first inning when he got out on very average ball. Situation might have been very different for him if he had the luck of Cameron.

Will Pucovski is a promising young player for Australia and I expect him to be a regular member of the squad within the next few years. He may be temporarily out of form, but that should not be held against him. Even star Australian batsmen such as David Warner had rough patches during their career (for example his bad form during the last Ashes series).

Well.... let me put it this way - 20 days of test cricket, 5 days of T20 and 3 days of ODI. So once again, the emphasis is given to the longer format. I am not sure whether they should play more than 3 test matches per bilateral series. They could have instead scheduled two more ODI matches. I am a big supporter of triangular/quadrangular series, but as of now it looks as if the BCCI is not interested in such tournaments.

Well i prefer 5 test match series whenever Pig 3 play against each other so i am bit pissed off that they are only playing 4 instead of 5  . Its part of the previous FTP so facilitating Tri or quad series was out of the question, at least for now.

Matches between the Pig 3 are always competitive, and highly revenue generating. So they need to play as many matches as possible. So I too would have preferred 5 test matches instead of 4. IMO, the Pig 3 (India, England and Australia) needs to make sure that at least 50% of the matches they play are between themselves. This will reduce the incidence of one-sided matches and will make sure that the three cricket boards are able to generate good revenue.

ODI and T20 matches are perfectly fine, but for test match either it should have been 3 if not able to adjust the 5 matches. If due to Covid just in case it has cut down from 5 to 4 then better could have being make it to 3 test and 5 ODI rather than 3 as this would have more interest among larger audiences who would have watched ODI rather than those ignoring the test matches due to 5 days.

I am also waiting to watch the game in this stadium. An excellent stadium. As far as i know, it is the largest cricket stadium in the world. On the other hand, maybe it is the 2nd largest stadium overall. Another name of his stadium is "Sardar patel stadium".

Yes. The Sardar Patel Stadium at Ahmedabad is the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a capacity of 110,000. Melbourne Cricket Ground is second with a capacity of 100,000 and then we have Eden Gardens with 80,000. All the top-12 largest cricket stadiums are either in India or in Australia. It is surprising that the birthplace of cricket (England) doesn't figure in the list.

As expected, New Zealand is off to a good start against West Indies, in the second test. Henry Nicholls managed to score a century, and he is out there with Daryl Mitchell, with New Zealand looking pretty comfortable at 285/5. Remember that New Zealand has rested Kane Williamson, who is expecting the birth of his first child. Apart from Shannon Gabriel, the other West Indian bowlers looked out of form.
